Choice- from the Nigerian perspective
20th of January 2022
I believe people should first care about their progress, health and success before anyone else. If you don’t care about being successful, I will not care about it also. If you don’t care about making impact in life, we will simply have fun together and “catch cruise”. If you don’t love yourself, I cannot love you as you’d be very unattractive and unsexy to me! Keep on acting like someone that has no future and I wouldn’t have any advise for you. Always remember that the world will always have worthless people, it might as well be you. Make hay while the sun shines and you’d have no reason to regret!
We look at the pace at which the world is moving these days, and we can simply assume that the world will be heaven in ten (10) years- we got NFTs, ARs, Nanotech and blah blah. I’m sorry to disappoint you but the world will remain the same. There will always be the rich, the poor, and the totally clueless.
A person says sim cards are of the Antichrist, Crypto is how the beast wants to have control of world finance, and 5G chips are implanted into us via the covid-19 vaccine- all statements made from ignorance and the inability to understand the need for improvement. I’m not surprised, there is always the gutter mindset. After all, there will always be someone that stays in the village that greets everyone that visits, receives five hundred Naira (Barely $1) from each visitor and the mission is accomplished for the day. There will always be that boy that blocks the road and collects a hundred (100) Naira before letting cars pass.
Do you think they choose it? The generation before chose it for them by consciously choosing the gutter mindset. They keep making small decisions that everyone else but themselves see as terrible and wouldn’t realise the extent of their negative IQ until it becomes too late.
There will always be that neighbour with one wrapper that the husband is blowing her eye every morning and night, then she drops one baby and catches a break for few months. Do you think it was what she picked as a teenager? No. She obviously wanted to be Marilyn Monroe, or Halle Berry, or Ellen DeGeneres, or Oprah Winfrey or even Beyoncé. She wanted to Drip and Glow, wanted to be recognised and wanted to Buck the status Quo, but a simple choice changed everything.
Our decisions determine a lot, our relationship, education, and career choice matter up to an atomic scale. So, yes- when I look at you and say you’d be useless based on your decision, it isn’t a prophecy but reality based on logic, cause and effect!
I've been loving my freedom these past few days, it makes mo know myself more than before. Our future is really up to our choices in the present. Life is full of risks and we should evaluate our choices because those decisions will define our future.
