A Glimpse Behind the Spotlight
I've been a fan of some personalities for a long time, and I've taken notice of their fame, position, fan base, and accomplishments. I've always admired how they keep their prominence despite the challenges and circumstances that stand in their way.
However, the issue remains as to how they were able to do this.
What lies before for them to gain enormous popularity?

One time, while studying in biology class, I was making my notes when I came across the name Rosalind Franklin. Thanks to X-ray diffraction, she was one of the people who helped discover the double helix DNA. But it wasn't until after her death that she was recognized as James Watson and Francis Crick.
Mona Lisa, a renowned artwork by Leonardo Da Vinci. It was placed in a more secluded part of a wall until it was taken, attracting the attention of the media. People rushed to the Louvre Museum merely to view the empty wall where the painting formerly hung. When the painting came back, it was now prominent than even before Then it became renowned as a result of this, and even non-artists are familiar with Da Vinci's work.
I've been interested in K-Pop for a bit as I listen to there songs, but it wasn't particularly popular in my country until recently. People adore them, and some even despise them, not realizing what they've gone through simply to be in the spotlight. They practice for years, and some even give up their childhoods in order to achieve their goals. Is it really worth it? Yes, they are making their long-awaited debut. Other trainees were occasionally compelled to perform things only to meet the 'beauty standards' and get acceptance. Some were arranging survival shows, and those who were unfortunate had their careers in that company cut short before they ever began. So, to both the groups I didn't stan and the ones I did, I respect their hard work and effort in order to be the person they are now.
This is somewhat unrelated, however there are villains in films. I'd grown attached to some of the villains in the movies or television shows that I'd already seen. Some stories are so moving that I find myself rooting for the adversary rather than the protagonist. Without at least one enemy to liven things up, stories aren't nearly as exciting. We weren't born with the ability to be nice or terrible. We just shaped our personalities as a result of the environment we live in.
We may be swayed, and we are easily deceived.
Final Thoughts
One thing is certain: you'll never know a person's or an object's genuine worth until it's gone or has done something noteworthy.
*We all began as nothing and worked our way up to being something.*
Too many people act as though they know what happened to the people who fought for that particular spot. They only saw that individual at the pinnacle of his or her aspirations, but they never witnessed the path that led up to that point.
We loathe, admire, respect, and despise. It's our nature, our choice. After all, we're only people who experience emotions and live.
We're not in the position to judge someone until we know the sides of their story.
If we love someone for who they have become, we will gradually come to love them for how they got there.

Almost because it's never been enough
I'm still perplexed as to why certain folks are oblivious to my efforts and the things I do for them. Regrettably, they are my parents. I want want them to be happy of whatever I've accomplished, but all they've done is compare me to my sister. I don't carry a grudge towards her, she's always been kind to me and appreciates me much more than our parents do.
I simply want them to think of me like my sister, but I guess I still have ways to go.
I'm trying but they still can't see that.
`They were too blinded by her.`

All I have left is ~~stu~~dying
My universe revolves around my grades, remarks, school, activities, and so on most of the time. It suffocates me, I'm drowning in their expectations and the tasks they assign me.
Most teens, like myself, enjoy our youth to the fullest by socializing with other people we refer to as "friends." We do crazy things, live for the moment, and live by the mantra "You Only Live Once." We enjoy a lot of things as we grow older because we're fully aware that we're not getting any younger, where the only thing we're crying over is a wounded knee, unlike now which we think about things like our mental health.
However, due of the rigid atmosphere in which I was reared, I am unable to spend much time outside. I'm holed up in my room, scarcely breathing and working on schoolwork.
This semester, I was recognized as one of our school's most excellent students. My acquaintances in the school applauded me and were pleased of me. But guess what? My family opted to commemorate my sister's success, which did not receive the same level of recognition as mine. I was jealous, and I was envious of her.
They took attention of everything she did, no matter how insignificant. Even if I've accomplished more, it's not enough, I'm always not enough.
Left out
I can't even relate to them, they're close but they feel so far away from me.
If you know the movie "Encanto" I can relate myself to Bruno. I was there, but they never notice. Even my cousins adored my sister more than mine, do they even know me in the first place?
I act like I didn't care but I'm longing for their attention and warmth. One time I successfully got their attention but I didn't know it would turn out like that.
"You look so fat."
The fact that my sister always say that she loves me for who I am and she said that I'm not fat, it was never enough. I just remained silent and unnoticeable throughout the whole reunion because I'm afraid, afraid that I will hear those words again.
But my sister stayed by my side the whole night and whispered sweet nothings to my ear until I fell asleep. I couldn't ask for more.
Final thoughts
As I always do all the time, I wish I was my sister.
I can't hate my sister despite the unmistakable discrimination. I can't despise the one person who cheers me up, who I can depend on, who will hold my hand when I weep.
*Even though I'm envious and resentful of her, I love her, so much.*
It's difficult to deal with the sense of disappointing your parents. Everyone wants to be accepted, appreciated, and loved for, especially by the people who brought them into this vast, chaotic world in the first place. But why is it so difficult to experience emotions in your own family, when "love" should be genuine?
If I'm the issue or if it's theirs, I'm not sure. I'm glad my sister didn't turn out to be like the cruel sisters in the movies I've seen, who constantly believe they're superior than the other siblings.
This is how we feel at times, and how our parents make us feel at times. The most crucial question is if you're giving it your all. If that's the case, the rest is irrelevant.
People that really love you will never tell you that you aren't good enough. They would value the effort you put into your deed rather than the outcome. Whether you achieve an amazing or barely even holding on remarks, you will be supported for trying to study. Conditional love is not genuine, and it will never be provided by those who impose it.
We all want to meet our parents' expectations, but we can't always do so, and that's acceptable.
I'll do everything I can to be the best version of myself.
Maybe they'll see me too one day.
*I hope, even if just for a fleeting glimpse, they see me too.*
*Again, it's okay not to be okay.*
What I think about giving up?
Some people question what they should do when they feel like giving up on something they enjoy.
Giving up
Struggling has become a habit for me; my day would be incomplete if I didn't work, whether physically or mentally. Of course, it is natural for humans to struggle, but the outcomes of these struggles will differ depending on whether we give up or fight for them.
Accepting or renouncing a defeat is the state or act of giving up. To put it another way, surrendering. Either you attempted all of the possible solutions to the problem or you discovered that the situation is too difficult to solve without ever attempting to do so.
Thinking twice
Many times in my life, I've come close to giving up on something I'd fought so hard for. You see, the brain, mind, or whatever you want to call it, is full with options, and anything we choose has a corresponding consequence.
It will advise you on the best course of action, whether it is the simplest or the most difficult. It takes a lot of critical thinking abilities to assess particular scenarios and foresee all possible consequences once you've decided on an action to take. In any case, you'll come out with one of two outcomes: either you made progress or you learned a good lesson. In other words, you either benefited or made a mistake.
Surrendering, on the other hand, is an option. As I previously stated, our minds will always select the simplest option since no one likes to suffer, right? So, even being desperate, giving up is still considerable.
Giving up: good or bad?
I can't say it's horrible, but I also can't say it's good. Accepting loss is a situation-specific decision.
Giving up may be good to ourselves and those around us at times. In a relationship, for example. Giving up on someone is sometimes the wisest thing to do. If things aren't working, are getting toxic, and both parties are unhappy, it's time to call it quits. But keep in mind that if you're unhappy, you shouldn't look for someone else. Cheating, on the other hand, is a different story.
It's fine to quit up since it doesn't imply the world has ended. Because we don't all have the same conditions in our lives, some people will never have a second opportunity, but there is always a chance to try again. It's sometimes the wisest option to avoid more damage. Surrendering can also help us shape our personalities in order to live a better life.
In my situation, I'm dying along with the enormous list of my school activities (like honestly bruh, academic break who?) and their approaching due dates while I write this piece. I want to quit up, but I can't since I'm living up to the expectations of others. I desperately want to flee, yet I'm unable to do so. However, I estimated my time to do the remaining chores, so I don't believe meeting the deadline will be a problem.
Final Thoughts
We all have to give up at some point in our life. We are human beings, fallible, flawed, and prone to making mistakes. It is up to us whether we will succumb to our flaws and get trapped in the past, or if we will learn from our mistakes and move on while never forgetting.
So, when I'm on the edge of giving up, what do I do? I ponder, assess, and take a breather.
Before making a decision, I give it some thought. Because trusting myself isn't one of my strong suits, I assess everything first before acting.
It's acceptable to give up; it's also understandable to strive. The world can exhaust us, and we can either succumb or take a break before continuing to pursue what we've always desired.
*It's okay to rest for a while.*

If I told you I love you?

An interpretation of an excerpt from my friend's diary #2
On one of our school trips, we went to a museum. The artwork and miniatures in the room piqued your interest.
I took a picture of you staring at the painting on the wall attentively. All those artworks and sculptures were just wallflowers in comparison to you, who remained the most enchanting masterpiece ever produced in my eyes.
I'll be there for you anytime you need me. I'll do everything I can to make you laugh throughout your difficult times. I'll be there to reassure you that you're wonderful just the way you are if you're feeling empty and insecure. Even if I don't know what to do, I'll offer you a warm hug that never fails to provide you solace through your darkest hours. Every time I see you weep in front of me, it shatters my entire being into pieces. So, please, don't cry again because you're sad. You’re ugly when you cry, just kidding.
I'll remain patient with you at any moments, and I may be your refuge, your home, and everything else you need. I'll always wait for you, just as I did anytime you were required in one of our school's clubs. I'll wait for the woman who keeps my heart racing and keeps me from sleeping when boredom comes at me.
I vow I'll never change. I'll still be the guy you know back in high school, the man who is only a call away.
*I love you so much than you could ever imagine.*
Even if it costs me tremendous pain, I want you to be the happiest lady in the planet. So, I had no choice but to do it especially for you.
As you walked past at me, I could never miss the words you whispered under your breath.
**“Thank you,”** you smiled.
I returned the smile, eyes brimming with tears as you continued to walk towards ***him***.
The groom, my *brother*, your ***future***.
The lad who used to be my adversary and was constantly envious of our relationship, but you convinced him that we're simply best friends. I had no intention of mending my connection with him, but when I saw how happy you were in his embrace, I did the very last thing I wanted to do: I fixed our brotherly shenanigans.
*Love really makes you do all the ridiculous things, right?*
But love couldn't make me do what I was supposed to do back then.
*Confessing*.
I often wonder whether life would have turned out otherwise if I had done just one thing, uttered just a few words, or been a little less this and a little more of that.
***Even though I saw it coming, it still hurts.***
I watched the priest link his hand with yours, and all I could ever do is to smile.
I guess I’m too late.
All I ever wanted for you was for you to be happy, and just because things didn't work out doesn't mean you weren't the best thing that could have happened to me.
**Because you were.**
Always remember that I will always be here to support you no matter what, as your best friend.
***Congratulations, you’re finally married to him.***
How would you feel?

An interpretation of an excerpt from my friend's diary #1
**January 8, Wednesday. Wedding Day.**
The day of the wedding finally came.
Wearing this uncomfortable suit was nothing when it’s meant to wear it for you. This royal blue coat suited my measurements, and at the end, a turquoise necktie hung around my neck. A little pastel blue rose was found in my coat's chest pocket, denoting that today was a memorable experience for the both of us. My jet-black hair was styled into an exquisite taper cut, which complemented my features more than ever before.
Everything looks perfect, purely ethereal. The decorations, the aesthetics, it suits you. I did my very best to design this wedding as stunning as you. Along with the rest of the guests, we are all waiting for the star of this holy matrimony.
**The bride.**
Suddenly, the massive church doors flung open wide, and everything moved into slow motion. As the pianist began to play Taylor Swift's Crazier, I saw you standing there, still captivating as ever. At that very moment, I couldn't comprehend how stunning you looked. Your strapless wedding dress was embellished with rhinestones, pearl beads, and embroidery on the bodice. You also donned a two-tiered veil with a crystal headpiece to match. You carried a silk bouquet of roses in azure and white hues. Your hair hung down to your waist, and it was curly, giving your petite frame a lovely form.
*And your eyes.*
*Oh, those lovely pair of hazelnut orbs.*
They never failed to make me fall in love again and again as they glistened with euphoria and enthusiasm. When you made your first step towards the end of the altar, petals of flowers in a light shade of cerulean began to fall from the ceiling, presenting you to the audiences who were looking at you with smiles adorning on their faces, totally awestruck by your beauty. Your gaze was fixed on the priest, who wore a tender expression on his face, proud of the woman you had grown into over the years.
Seeing you gently walking at one of the finest days of your life with your father and mother beside you, was the most fascinating scene that I’ve ever witnessed in my entire life. The three of you were overcome by emotions, as they made their way to the place where their daughter would have her once-in-a-lifetime experience that she will never forget. Waiting for you to come to me was nerve-wracking to the point that I became enslaved by my own thoughts, reminiscing those memories we had.
I'll never forget your beaming smile when I met you for the first time when you transferred into our class. I'll remember your personality like the back of my hand for the rest of my life. You’re one of a kind, giving everybody around your smiles and wicked grins, and I'm no exception.
We were both avid fans of sweets, to the point that it made a huge step for us to get closer. After a hard day at school, we typically bought coffee and a slice of chocolate cake in a café in front of our school, and then one of my happiest memories is the first time you allowed me to walk home with you.
We became closer that day, and I vowed to myself that I would be the greatest man you could possibly have.
When you arrived at our school campus, I began bringing your backpack and some of your belongings. I'll stay a little longer especially for you, gathering your things, and we'll start going towards our classroom together. We were discussing how our day went and how much fun we were having at the moment.
Konnichiwa-desu!
This is only an interpretation of what I've read on a friend's personal diary (don't worry, he gave me permission to read it) it's not fully real but just what I happened to imagine about the scene. Also, this is what I think was inside in his head when this scenario happened. This is quite longer than I expected so, please bear with me! Thanks!
Ps. Just a few more words, then finished.
Hey, you. Yes, you.
There's a lot of person who have hurt you in your life. The world is full of people who, no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, they just simply won't like you. On the contrary, there are also people who truly loves you for who you are and for all your flaws and imperfections. Don't ever shed your tears to some people who don't see your worth and convince them to like you, they don't know what they're missing. You are not good for them and they are not good for you. Might as well share your path with those people who recognize and appreciate you as a human being.
*Not everybody will like you, live your life to the fullest anyway.*
And when the future comes, don't you ever forget to do what you always love. Don't ever stop pursuing your dreams and give up. Even if no one cares, even if everybody turned their backs on you, please be strong and keep yourself intact even almost everything are starting to crumble. You will thrive at your own pace as a winner of your own race but not for glory nor fame. In that time, you will exceed what you've been dreaming for years, but do not forget who you are right now because you are where you started and the voice of encouragement to your ears.
*You deserved to be loved without having to hide the parts of yourself that you think are unlovable.*
