This article was inspired by @Jane article Smile through pain .
Nowadays, atleast for those who live in the Philippines, you might already know and well aware that wearing facemask when you're outside is a must at all times, except when you're eating or drinking of course. It is mandated by the government to prevent the spread of corona virus disease (covid-19).
While to some, specially those who are in the upper class and in the middle class, wearing mask is nothing unusual, to some, specially to those who are in the lower class section of the society, it's more of a burden and additional expenses only.
Anyways, I don't want to confuse you as to what this article is all about hence let's divert our discussion to my topic.
It's about the common, natural, and free mask everyone can havep, which is "a smile".
Filipino is well known to be one of the happiest person in the world.
We always smile despite of being down.
We always smile despite of the problems we have.
We smile despite of being embarrased.
We always smile despite of the hardships and trouble life has brought to us.
We always smile despite of the very unfortunate things that happened to us.
I am not saying that we don't cry. We cry a lot as well. But we always find ways to wear our sweetest smile in front of the others.
We usually cry secretly. As long as we are still able to bear the pain, we will choose to keep it inside and mask it with a smile so that the other people would think that we are okay.
Smile is one of our greatest weapon in facing our problems.
Smile is contagious!
The perfect example to prove that smile is contagious is when a baby smiles at you, you will surely smile back at him or her right?.
I believe we smile amid the difficulties because it's already part of our culture to always smile. It's somehow part of our being hospitable I guess.
We smile to make other happy. We smile to enlighten our environment and hence to lighten up our mood and so as the others mood as well.
When we bumped into someone that we didn't see for a long time, what is the first thing that we used to do? SMILE.
When we greet our visitors, we always greet them with a? SMILE. It is usually our way of welcoming them, give them our brightest look and wear our SMILE.
When someone smiles at us, we always tend to smile back. That's why I can say that smile is contagious.
We Filipinos are always positive or I think I would rather say, we always see the positive even in a worst of a situation.
We always have a positive outlook in life because we know that we always have our family behind us and are always there, ready to back us up in every decision we made and in every struggles that we're going through.
Ayyahh ngaun KO lang nakita ang bungisngis ni baby..hahahha grabeh makatawa ay wagas..napakasarap talaga pag may baby, ung bungisngis palang nakakawala na ng pagod at stress.
