Way back in 2019, the management and staff of our company planned an out of town getaway in the summer.
The place could be in Batangas or Laguna unfortunately pandemic hits us hard and lockdowns are started and restrictions are tightened.
Face to face work is prohibited and forced to shut down due to the virus. Many companies including us have no more work to support ourselves and our families.
Lucky those who still working and adapting the way of working at home.
Since then our dream of going out to the beach was no more.
We resumed going to work when alert levels of covid cases were reduced but in an earlier time of inning and timed out.
There are still no plans for a getaway, for as we all know all public functions were closed and prohibited.
2022 came and we can say that the situation is way better now I think. The new normal was already adapted by the people.
The clients of our spa are slowly coming back now to their normal routine too.
One lucky day, our lady boss conduct a short meeting with us and discuss some things regarding our work and performances as well as some minor changes in our services.
Prices for every service were hiked a little bit to catch up with the rise in the product that we are using such as massage oil, and disinfectant (alcohol, chlorine, etc.) And the nail tech things.
She also mentions the outing! Yey! Everybody was happy;).
After 2 years of being jailed in our own home and controlled because of the virus, at last, we have the chance to enjoy being outside again. Although working was at a bit ease now for some.
Today is the day, yeah! A li'l later this afternoon we are going to amuse ourselves with the water pool lol. By the way, the swimming pool is better now than nothing.
Side story
While I was riding in the jeepney, there was this one person whom I thought was alone on his trip but I was wrong because he is with his granny which was sitting beside me.
He is sweating so much that caught my attention. I thought something was gone wrong with the guy because he is also covering his entire face with his phone and his breathing was not normal.
I'm about to pat him to ask if he is okay when the granny beside me speaks to someone on her phone and the guy on the opposite side reacted.
He has abnormalities in his upper lips, a cleft palate and I think has down syndrome too but manageable. He acts a bit weird but with no aggression.
He talks but his words are not so clear asking something from his granny.
Then, two street children went up the jeepney and beg. The disabled guy looks closely at the small kid handling an envelope for all passengers. And ask his granny for some coins and give them out to the kid.
Although the guy was in a not-so-good state his mind didn't lack the good deeds of giving and sharing.
He even says "excuse me" when passing through the passengers when they went out of the jeepney.
