Hello People!
Greeting you all, hope we're good? The weather has been so friendly with it's coldness and I'm loving it more, the only challenge is that, the cold react the more when you take a bike to work at early hours 🤣.
Thank you sponsors ✌️🥰
Yesterday we saw a Nollywood movie that I the script interesting. The movie is all about a guy that finished school with 3rd class, he's been looking for job for years but luck was not on his side.
Miraculously, he got a connection with one old time friend working in a big company and the company has branches scattered in the country. This his friend helped him to process everything and he became employed as the manager of one of the branches.
This managerial possession is for first class graduate but luck found him to take the position, but he has a problem. Ever since he got the work, he's been feeling the negative, he said the position is too big for him, like he should have been employed on a lower level and let people with first class take over the management. Meanwhile, there are staffs their that have higher qualification than him.
If it's competency, this guy is good, he knows the work but the trouble within his mind is the position, it's too big for him, he can't be controlling people higher than him.
Should we call that low self esteem?
To my own understanding, that's low self esteem at work. He got a good offer with a matching competency and he's willing to let it slide because of unpleasing thought in his mind.
If he's not fit for the work(talking about experience), it would have been something else but allowing his "clean mind" to judge him in this kind of situation is really weird. I know he must be calculating on how he's gonna be directing huge degree holders under him, and sometimes he might get challenging responses from them but this shouldn't be his concern, he should build up his mind and act as the boss as he is.
There's nothing like job qualification!
Yes, you read it right, there's nothing like job qualification (unless we are referring to practical/teachnical-know-how), if it's just certificates, there's absolutely nothing like job qualification...in my country though 🤪.
In my country here, job qualification is majorly based on connection. If you like have all the degrees in the university with good result, you'd see that a girl of 20years with high school certificate and with connection, compete with you and claim your position with all your certificate in your hand.
One of my friend in Lagos has been switching bank work since she graduated. She did chemistry in school, so tell me what pushed her to the banking sector? Connection! Her dad works in central bank and he has his ways, so that opportuned this lady to be switching banks as she want.
If you enter some of our banks and do some checks on their staffs, you'll see that most of the workforce staffs are not graduate of BANKING or ACCOUNTANCY in school, some of them graduated from Engineering.
Jobs are scarce, you grab the one that's available!
In my part of the world, jobs are scarce like money, so we don't often go with what we are qualified for, we go with what's available (opportunity). You can't reject an offer to work in oil company because you dream to work in an hospital 😁. The major requirements is to show competence and adapt to the work nature.
So, the man with that issue I mentioned above was only following his "clean mind" and if he continues with his so called clean mind, he might loose the job at the end or Maybe reduced himself so low to the bully of the workers. I didn't Conclude the movie so I don't know how it ended.
What do you have to say about this man, he needs flogging, right? Lol🤣
Thanks for reading
