Short Biography:
Nelson Mandela is from South Africa
The first elected president and one Nobel laureate, he died on December 5, 2013 at the age of 95. South Africa, known as apartheid, has been jailed for 27 years for fighting apartheid. He was released from prison in 1990, four years after being elected President of South Africa and serving only one term as President.
Which is a rare occurrence in African politics.
This leader, who is very popular in the international arena, was great as a speaker. One of his most famous quotes was taken from a speech he delivered during the 1984 hearing in the Hivonia conspiracy case, in which he said:
