In conclusion, Howard Giles’ Accommodation Theory explains how the variables above affect second language learning. It helps us understand how important these factors are in a student’s success- particularly on his/her level of motivation and proficiency. It helps us improve our teaching styles, methods, and techniques; and most importantly, it helps us appreciate every situation in which the language is used.
