Holla!
Have you've been at Enchanted river?
Lemme share to all of you, our river escapade with my friend Annalisa. One of my 3 decades friend from Norway. She had a vacation with her husband and daughter last 2010. That year the river been renovates already. Because when I was in College that river is just simple river with no cottage. It's really a virgin nature. That all can appreciate the true meaning of paradise.
We travel it for almost 1 1/2 hours. When you enter the road of enchanted it's quite rough road so the driver will slow down of course. Then you can feel the coldness when you open the window of the van.
Enchanted river is a deep spring river on the island of Mindanao of Philippines. It flows into the Philippine sea and the Pacific ocean at barangay Talisay Surigao del Sur. It is found between the boundaries of barangays of Talisay and Cambatong. Lots of famous celebrity visits the river.
As I remember the cast of "The Spirits" which is Maja Salvador is one of the cast then the last episode is she's been thrown down to the river. It's been trending on YouTube that time. Additional points for our beloved spots. We are really proud that one of our best river been famous at all time,as in nationwide. So the foreigners also been curious about this kind of river. Lots of tourists and that's the reason the government really renovates it. Thanks for them.
The entrance...
We're so many that time coz Shy Shy bring a lots of friends. Mareng Annalisa rent a 2 vans for us. It's their first time so they are really flattered of what they've seen when we reach Enchanted river. They really said "oh wowww so nice and very cold".
It's feeding time...
Apparently this river really feed the fishes during 12:00 noon time with the long time river care taker riding a boat into the lagoon and feeding squid and rice to the fishes. During this time the Enchanted river theme music is played, inspired by the Rio Encantado(Enchanted river) poem written by a local. So the people will stay at the corner while they are feeding the fishes. The first time I saw that one when I was in College, I'm really shocked why we need to get off in the river. You want to know why?
Hmmm wait don't be scared huh! Its kind of weird but it's really true. One story tells of fairies that added the colors of sapphire and Jade to the river to make it's unique shade. According to locals the river was called the Enchanted river because of the engkantos that dwell there. Their legends also say that the river is haunted by supernatural beings which act as it's protectors.
I do believed in that coz my mother also tells me some stories about that river. My mother was born at Hinatuan so she knows the mystery in their place. But my mother said just be careful when you go there and don't forget to say "tabi tabi po". Always pray that all of you will be safe. God will always protect us whenever when we call him.
Here comes the island hopping. The best adventure I have experience coz we ride the small pumpboat that we can touch the water, for real hahaha. Did you experience also the island hopping? It would be a great feeling. All the sorroundings are really pure nature.
How deep is the Enchanted river? It is around 80 feet deep and just barely long enough to be considered as a river. Yet the flow attracts visitors from around the world who want to experience the beautiful waters that locals have long thought to be miraculous. Don't worry they have a life jacket for rent, if you want to be secure while you are swimming.
Reminder:
If you want to bring a kids in that river please accompanied them. I don't know why some people just found dead as in floating in the water without reason. Mostly the kids been died but it's not everyday. We don't know also the cause if they don't know how to swim. Lots of questions. Until now we don't know who is it. It's really mysterious so be careful. Always pray wherever you have a river or beach getaway.

Breathtaking beauty! The blue lagoon is purely mirror-like...I wonder if the water is cold?
