Delayed

Whose experiencing a delayed wages in here? What's your say about it? Is it just favorable in your part? or Is it the other way around for you?

When I was hired, I was told that there's a possibility of a salary delayed and asked if it's fine for me or not? Of course, as a job seeker I don't mind that at all because even it's delayed I know that I had something to wait at least. But, what if bills are left and right and you had a debt that need to be paid? Then, I can say a delayed wages really is not favorable as well especially if it was delayed for 1 to 2 weeks already.

I start working October 14 but our official classes starts at October 19. So, supposedly at the end of the month we will have our salary already.

But things happen which the reasons of the delayed salary.

October ends on 31st which was Sunday. Therefore, last Friday of October it was 29. Then, since the requirements for our salary was of course to submit a DTR (daily time record) and attachments of evidences that were doing a class within that 15 days.

There's an attachments of evidence since we are doing online classes unlike if it's face-to-face scheme of classes where attachments isn't needed at all. So, we were able to finalized our DTR and the attachment on the 2nd day of November since November 1 which was Monday where supposedly we can able to submit our DTR but it was then a holiday since it was "All Saints Day." That means, we were able to submit our DTR on the 2nd day of November.

I'm sharing this, because the earlier we can submit our DTR the earlier as well we can receive our salary. So, when we submit on the 2nd day of November we should expect a salary 3 days after we submit it or within that week.

But, last Thursday. Our area head told us that one of the personnel in our cashier's office was diagnosed positive to COVID-19. Therefore, the other personnel since they were just two in the cashier's office was also quarantined and need to be swabbed for she's also the close contact of the positive one. Therefore, there's no personnel on the cashier's office until last Friday and maybe even on this week coming. Their office was closed. The fact that, all the transactions in terms of finances including our salary will be done at the cashier's area. Therefore, we never expected to received our salary last Friday and this coming weeks. We just hoped that the closed contact one will not be also positive.

But yesterday, my co-teacher told me that salary was already there and he told me to went down to admin building since our salary was care off by the accounting department. So, I went to admin and yes the accounting were releasing salaries to the other personnel like the school guard, sweepers and those who maintained the school clean. Therefore, we Visiting Instructors asked if ours were also be released but sad thing the accounting personnel said that ours were not yet ready for the papers were just handed by them. So, again it's totally DELAYED for a week already.

A delay maybe unfavorable at some points but what matters to me is that I had a salary to wait.

Actually, I'm really hoping it to be early because I had bills and rent to be paid. A debt as well from my cousin that I wanted to pay that's why somehow this delayed were in some points unfavorable in my case because of my bills, rents and debt to be paid. For I wanted to paid them so that I don't have something to mind of on the next salary to come.

But, despites that at least I'm grateful to know that I had something to wait. For we also knew that this coming week our first salary will be handed to us already since the accounting will took care of it in the absence of the cashier. What a good news for us instead.

A sort of POV:

I wasn't able to published article yesterday for such a hectic schedule and as I've wanted to also write an article on evening but I can't access this account of mine when I'm at home for no internet connection. So, maybe tomorrow or the next day I will try to publish two articles in a day to catch it up. Such an uncontrollable instances really hinders me to be published daily. But, what I can do? Instead, just continue and no room for quitting at all.
