The world of work is constantly evolving. As much as we sometimes try, we cannot remain oblivious to these fluctuations and many of their demands for adaptation. For example, identifying the most valued psychological skills and showing a good level of competence in them can give us an advantage over other candidates. What's more, something that the big tech companies point out is that we often focus too much on hard skills, and completely neglect the importance of soft skills. Not everything is science, technology, mathematics or engineering. It is not enough to have several degrees, a PhD and be a true polyglot. We even need human capital that is sufficiently skilled, flexible and proactive to respond to an increasingly changing and chaotic reality.

In addition, it is expected that over time, a good part of the labor market will be reshaped. As artificial intelligence automates an express portion of tasks (especially labor), new jobs will be needed. The speed at which we are living in the field of technological innovation forces us to keep up to date. The skill that is at the top of the list and the most relevant, is critical thinking, because at work it makes it easier to verify and evaluate the information we receive. It is an essential cognitive strategy that we must develop from an early age, but it is in adulthood when it becomes essential. It is considered the most decisive skill in the world of work.

 Well, knowing how to discern the important from the accessory in a world dominated by the digital, is important. In other words, it is a basic survival mechanism. Faced with a future scenario in which artificial intelligence will dominate a large part of labor tasks, it is the human being who will have to take responsibility for those domains that are our own. We are referring to problem solving and decision making. It is not the task of machines to decide for us. We need to be people who are able to identify and predict risks and opportunities. That is why companies demand agile minds capable of tackling complex challenges in an innovative way. One of the psychological skills most valued by companies is undoubtedly knowing how to communicate, listen and reach agreements.

 Also, expressing ourselves with confidence, resolution, charisma and at the same time trying to connect with those around us is an essential soft skill. Mental flexibility is the perfect recipe for dealing with change productively and gaining an advantage over others. Something as basic as adapting our behaviors and thoughts to changing situations is an essential asset in every life and work scenario. It does not get stuck in the face of challenges. It observes them in a curious way, without blocking itself, is open to new perspectives and is capable of designing ten possible solutions to the same difficulty. We all have within us a natural ability to be resilient. Being resilient at work is a stronghold that can give us valuable advantages over others.

 In conclusion, when a company's teams work synergistically towards the same goal, everyone benefits. The company itself and also the individuals. Because anyone who does not have adequate teamwork skills will suffer from stress and anxiety. He or she will be that odd element in the organization's machinery. This can only be achieved with adequate communication skills, being able to trust others, being empathetic, assertive and motivated to achieve common goals.  This is why these competencies are areas that we can all develop. Moreover, these dimensions will not only allow us to climb positions in the workplace. They are also life tools for well-being. This is the only way to position an organization within its own culture to become a leader and a reference.
