Fainting is more widespread in those aged 70 or older. Fainting is a sudden temporarily loss of consciouness resulting in a fall (because of an interruption of brain's blood supply. The person need to sit with head between knees or lie down.
Wounds - as a result of fainting, one can be wounded. You need to maintain pressure, using bandage when available, to prevent infection until help arrives. If it is a minor cut, clean it with water and cover using a bandage or plaster. If it is severe or infected, medical help is required (course of antibiotics, tetanus jab, etc.)
Bleeding - you need to apply pressure, if it is a protruding bone or and object into the wound you press firmly down on either side, never directly. If gloves are not available, ask the wounded to apply the pressure themselves. If blood comes out of your nose, squaeeze it in 10 minutes blocks, up to 3 times. If it is not stopping, seek medical help.
