First, I won’t be able to keep up with an article per day routine. I’m back in school and the work waiting for me is much. I hope I’ll be able to keep up with things going on in SmartBCH world, so I wouldn’t be left behind. Also, my engagement here has been affected for some days and it might even get worse in the coming days. On weekends, I’ll take time to clear some notifications.

Okay, today’s article is all about Togetherness. What can be achieved by working together as one? Countless times I’ve been paired with some of my coursemates on different projects. My group do things effortlessly while other groups struggle. Sometimes people think it’s all because of the set of people in my group. “They are the serious ones” they’d say. But it isn’t so. We tend to harness the strength and weaknesses of each group member. Even if the laziest person is in our group, we still give him something to do and encourage him. This has been working well for us for four years now.

Togetherness is one of the most important themes in our daily lives. Whether it's with loved ones, friends or colleagues, togetherness helps us to achieve a lot more than what we could have done on our own.

Word spreads faster and ideas are shared quicker when people work together, even still, some people don't know where to begin. Just like the popular illustration of a father who gave his sons brooms to break and was impossible for them when the brooms were tied together but were easy when it was divided, same is life.

Two very important things in life, one is independence and the other one is togetherness, we want to be independent because it makes us strong, the more we are independent the less we are worried about what others think or say. Independence brings about growth, but you see togetherness is also important because you see togetherness brings about unity and unity brings about growth and success. What a single person can't achieve can be done in groups it's normal to disagree once in a while but as a group, it's good to settle the disagreement on time, when there is a disagreement let's give each other our opinion let's listen to what each other has to say then let's decide on what's best for everyone not just for few. When we are together things are easier. Togetherness affects your success, it affects your performance at work and it affects your performance in business.

Independence and togetherness work hand in hand. You have to make each member of the group feel independent. Make them feel appreciated, that their opinion matters. Many will say it takes a born leader to control a group of people to achieve a common goal but I’d say “There’s no born leader”. Everyone has it in them to lead others, all you need to think of is the greater gain of the group. Place it above personal gain.

Once in a while issues will arise and your competence will be questioned. It’s normal but that when the other group members come in. Since you’ve given them the liberty to take decisions on their own in time pass. This will come in handy on days when you need someone to stand in for you.
