Our life is a cycle. The cycle of living. Every day, new things happen, sometimes they are good while on other days they might be bad. But not all decisions we take are easy to make. Some of them might hurt us, but we have to make it as easy as possible before taking any decision.

The word sacrifice is basically letting go of something or someone. Sacrifice comes in a lot of ways, enjoyments, luxury, pleasures and sometimes even our goals. Sacrifice is one of the best ways to achieve a goal, some goals that we all have. We let go of what, who and when for the moment to occur. Sacrifices are somewhat a bit hard. But it's really worth it when you finally achieve the goal you were sacrificing for. Growing hope the word “Sacrifice” frightens me because the meaning attached to it in movies was scary.

Time is a great equalizer. Especially when you're young, you tend to think that the older generations are the epitome of success. It's difficult to see beyond their success and take note of their struggles and sacrifices.

A lot of people take sacrifice as a negative thing. Why will you let go of A just to achieve B?. That we're giving something to someone or something else up just to achieve a greater goal doesn’t mean it’s negative. But sacrifice actually gives us something more than what we are giving up.

The aim is set for us to live a good life and have the things we need and deserve. We shouldn't think that Sacrifice is negative because sacrifice isn't always bad. It's the same way with dreams, we get it knowing that it would be hard but all that matters is that we will achieve it because no one said it will be easy. No one said that achieving your dreams would be a walk in the park with no sweat at all.

After reading the bio of so many great achievers, the most common attribute that I found in them is that they all made sacrifices. These people who appeared to have everything, had nothing until they decided to let go of everything.

To achieve something great in life, you must be ready to sacrifice something, whether it's something as big as your dream or something as small as your time. But in the end, if you are willing to sacrifice everything, you will never lose anything. They were once like you and me, but they took a step. In some cases, what you need to sacrifice is your pride and ego. Just to learn something, you have to set aside your ego and be humble and willing to learn.

We can say the biggest myth is that everything comes with a price. There is nothing in life that comes without any kind of sacrifice. My heart and soul wanted me to take up a job in Lagos Nigeria with average pay but I was too scared to leave my parents behind. I was afraid of leaving my comfort zone. Instead, I settled for a lesser job that was close to home. I gambled my time and career and decided not to leave my family and friends behind. My dad supported me one hundred percent even though he wanted me to take the job in Lagos, he wanted me to test other waters, and think big but I was too scared and he never forced me.

Sometimes we have to sacrifice our luxury and enjoyment to achieve a certain goal. It isn't easy sacrificing or letting go of some things just because of another, but the satisfaction gotten after achieving the goal makes the sacrifice worthwhile. Sacrifice is not just about giving up one thing for another, but it is also about making changes so you will be able to enjoy a better life.

Writing every day takes discipline and sacrifice, writing this despite having a job to submit by noon tomorrow is another sacrifice, but as they say- “The end justifies the means”
