Gameweek 23

Wow! Here we are again with another Premier league gameweek round-up review and a report on the talk of the town fantasy premier league competition organized by the ever-growing Club1BCH. Gameweek 23 lasted longer than expected. It started on the 21st of January and ended on the 5th of February, ample time for clubs to wait for their players on African nations cup duties to be back and sit out for one week to recover but  Liverpool wasn’t so lucky, two of their key players got to the final of the just concluded AFCON, with Sadio Mane coming out on top among the two. The effect of the nations cups and points to note is a story for another day.

The league table still looks similar to how it was from the previous gameweek. No major upset bar Manchester United 1-0 Victory against West-ham. I call it an upset for United kept a clean sheet. Wow! Isn’t that fantastic? Marcus Rashford scored a late goal that got the whole Manchester roaring. On the other side of Manchester, Manchester City dropped two points on the road to Southampton, unlikely of them but a good result nonetheless. Guardiola’s men still look like the sole favourite to clinch the crown.

Away from Manchester, the London derby was an easy one for Chelsea, maybe on paper, it wasn’t. Thiago Silva and Ziyech came through with the goals. Ziyech’s goal will win goal of the month in other months if a Kovačić doesn’t decide to score a wonder goal in that month. lol. The Red side of London is still trying to find its feet in the year 2022. Arteta’s men are yet to win a game this year and it’s already bringing back fear into the camp of the gunners faithfuls.

Liverpool are still pushing hard even without the presence of their Talisman or Men, they won 3-1 away from home at Crystal palace’s ground

Club1BCH Fantasy league

January saw the emergence of new managers in the top 20 of the Club1BCH league of crypto. The battle for the manager of the month was also a tough one with Jarno Konsti coming out on top ( Kindly drop a comment on this post to receive your “Konra reward” / Kindly tag the Manager if you know him/them). He tops the log with a whopping 197 total net points, just a point above the second “I’m sorry Salah”, how ironic, Salah must have heard a lot of it in the last few hours…lol, pardon my dry joke.

At the top of the log, we still have Damola Abodurin maintaining his position while Portugal  XI has Arthur boys and @George_dee on his tail. Where am I on the table? That’s a question I won’t love to answer.

Gameweek 24

Gameweek 24 is around the corner. The question you will  ask is “What will a smart manager do?” The answer is simple, “Set your team now, attend to the injuries and suspensions. Do the needful now” That’s an advice coming from someone not in the top 20 of the league. lol
