I'm pretty sure the fact that they're gone will tear my family apart. At least with my aunt's part. I'm sure enough that my instant family will be fine

I am afraid it's what happens to most families. It's up to you with whom you stay in touch. If it's worth it. It's the same if it comes to that part of the family. If they give up that easily on you it's not family, you never been close.

I'm afraid I'm rather outcasted by the rest of my family. It was only her that listened to my constant chemistry ramblings even if she didn't understand much. I appreciated that she listened unlike the rest of my aunts and uncles that just gave me looks

I am sorry to hear that. You don't have nieces, cousins, a neighbor perhaps who show some interest? Ignore those looks you are special, creative and talented. You think different but there are way more like you. I am sorry for the lost of your aunt. 😢🍩

My cousins try to show interest sometimes because i tutor them but besides that, none. So I've lost someone i can casually chat to now
