Once upon a time, In an alternate universe, There lived an orphan named Tarzan, he had spent most of his life lost in the wilderness getting raised by chimpanzees. He is an orphan whose parents had died on a field trip to the forest in search of some apes as a test subject for a new experiment they were supposed to carry.
The irony of everything is that HapGaf, the female Chimp who raised Tarzan had tried to save his parents from AmaFex, the fearless Lion who ruled the jungle but only succeeded in saving Tarzan. Tarzan spent his life among these animals and grew to love them and he was satisfied. He couldn't speak or walk properly and spent most of his life migrating with the rest of the chimps as the seasons changed, spending most of his time in trees, and soon his body adapted to this new environment.
He wasn't readily accepted by the rest of the chimps due to his nature and the fact humans hunted them for games, fortunately, the Queen of the group, PrinCrown, and her husband the King, JumpOla.
I know you are probably thinking, weird names right? I guess the chimps had a nice sense of humor hahaha.
Anyway, enough about Tarzan, enters Lady Jane, her fresh lips red like the red rose, her fair skin, and her graceful walk, the epitome of beauty. Her presence is enough to light a completely dark room with her radiance. (Yes, I know the image doesn't do justice but I couldn't find a closer depiction, I'm not certain such work of arts even exists yet)
She was the only daughter of a wicked hunter, James, but she didn't share in his hatred towards wildlife but often cared for the little creatures that were in captivity. Often time they would end up running away from a locked cage, a big mystery you might think but it was the lovely Jane's doing. Her Father would scream in frustration but only a while for the love he had for his daughter was out of this world.
It so happened that James and his daughter Jane happened to be hunting in the same Forest Tarzan and his family lived in. On one sunny day, while James was on the hunt, Tarzan happened to be eating some bananas on a tree when the sight of beautiful Jane caught his eyes. He was surprised to see another human, but he was too shy to approach her.
Every night, he would come close to her camp just to watch her sleep, something about her fascinated him. He did this with great caution to avoid the ever-watchful eyes of her Father. His continuous disappointment over not being able to catch a single Chimp in this forest had made him cranky. One night, he almost lost of life to a stray bullet from James after he heard some movement in the trees.
One day, he finally decided to approach Jane, being unable to utter any human words he tried to make her comfortable around him which she found weird and her curiosity got the best of her.
"How did a Human survive this long in the wild" - she wondered
She did her best to hide Tarzan from her dad while he tried teaching him English. All this while she wasn't aware of his Feelings. Tarzan was a quick learner but not very smart. His absence was often noticed by his mother, and she would wonder when he'd runoff.
One day, she followed him secretly and saw what he was doing. She didn't approve of him getting close with the human girl after seeing firsthand how cruel Humans could be to their kind but what worried her the most was the fear of losing Tarzan. She expressed this to the leader of the group and they decided the best thing to do was to migrate again. This decision didn't sit well with Tarzan, he had fallen in love with Jane and wasn't ready to leave her, not yet. No matter how much he tried to make the leaders of the group (PriCrown and JumpOla) see reason, their decision wouldn't change.
The frustrated Tarzan ran off to be with Jane without caring for his family's wishes but on getting to the camp, he saw a young handsome man, from his appearance he definitely came from money. He would later learn his name was Gratias. Jane was about to get engaged to Gratias. Without saying a word it was evident to him that she loved Gratias as he brought about the diamond ring to propose.
He hadn't told her about his family during all the time he had spent with her because he hadn't learned to speak fluently, but he could understand English to an extent. There was no way he could explain the reason behind the reason he would be leaving.
With a broken heart, he moved on with his family. Jane hadn't noticed his disappearance due to her excitement over getting engaged to Gratias. When she finally noticed his absence, days had passed and Tarzan was long gone. She was very sad. She would wait for hours in the forest for days hoping he would return but he never did, at last, she gave up.
It is a sad reality but she would never see Tarzan that way, they lived in two different worlds after all thus bringing a rather sad end to a beautiful love story.
The end.
This article is a pure work of fiction, it was a challenge from the prompt factory by @Ellehcim - Cinderella did not lose her shoes. It was referenced from the Disney version of Tarzan
The challenge is to write about a fairy tale and give it your own ending. This is mine. I'm sure it might not sit well with you that was why I began with "in an alternate universe".
I'm one of those who beliefs who belief that there are countless dimensions to this world we live in, somewhere out there is another Universe where another one of us exists. In one of that multiverse, I guess this is how the story "Tarzan" would end.
I have seen some other movie versions of this story.. I must say.. I loved them. LOL
