Random article in memory of Nightbirde.
It is hard to move on from the death of people who reshaped your thoughts positively and inspired you while they were alive, it is the same feeling seeing people who could have been a huge blessing to humanity pass away despite their struggles and will to survive.
It amazes me how people who know they have a limited time to live go on to mark their names in the heart of millions before they pass away, they inspire people knowing that they can't be inspired, they help others build hope when they don't even have a pinch of it. I am always drawn to people with severe health conditions, sometimes I wish I could just take their pain away.
I have written a few articles about Cancer, I keep wondering why such a cruel illness exists without a cure. When it strikes, it takes everything away and only a few kept their head up with the terminal disease. The life of many have been cut short due to this terminal disease but Nightbirde was different, she might be gone and I wouldn't want to believe that her life was cut short because she did what billions of people wouldn't do even if they live up to 100.
Life isn't about how long but how well you lived, it is time we start understanding that the impact you made in the world is what you will be remembered for and not how many years you spent in the world. Does that prove that age is truly just a number?
I knew about Nightbirde a few months ago and she is one of the few musicians who made me get goosebumps while listening to her song, her voice was captivating and her lyrics had a direct impact on the listener. Her performance at the "American got talent" would be remembered for a while and the song titled "It's Okay" was a message of hope for many who cared to understand it.
The most emotional scene was her saying she had just a 2% chance of survival, it got me asking myself what would I be doing knowing I have just a 2% chance of surviving a terminal illness.
I wish I could say I will go around spreading hope but it isn't as easy as we think, knowing one's life could end soon is one hell of a feeling so whenever I see people stand up to be a symbol of hope while going through their last phase in the world is a huge thing for me.
I started an article recently but stopped because I couldn't progress with it, I titled it "Is happiness a choice?".
I wrote the article trying to prove that there are situations when happiness is not a choice but I was wrong, if someone whose life is ending can find a reason to spread happiness then we all have something in our lives to be happy about.
If we choose only to be happy when we don't have any troubles or challenges again, it means we want to be happy after death which is impossible. There will always be one thing to be troubled about in life since no one is guaranteed a perfect life, we just have to live through with happiness because we can't feel either happiness or it opposite when we are gone.
Lessons from the song, " It's Okay"
•You can't run forever
A lot of us are used to running away from challenges forgetting that it is impossible to run away from them since they are part of our lives.
Challenges are meant to be faced and conquered, it is best to tackle them as it comes than running which makes them pile up automatically and becomes difficult to tackle. Every challenge we overcome opens a growth path and when we hide or run, we are saying "NO" to growth.
•Do what makes you happy, we won't live forever after all.
This message belongs to me, I spend so much time seeking how to move forward in life. There is nothing wrong with that but are you taking your time to enjoy the fun and beauty of every little growth you make?
Our time here is limited, if everything about you is accumulating wealth, fame, honor, power then you might want to think twice about it because they all become meaningless once our time is up.
While you are here, ensure you engage with things that make you happy. Have fun, spend time with your loved ones because we might not be staying as long as we thought.
A time will come when we won't be able to do these things and it could be a life ending with regrets for never existing even while alive
Ask yourself, are you really living?
•It is not over until it is.
Giving up is never an option for anyone who wants to make an impact in the world, we must keep moving no matter what life sends our way.
We will be tested, the world, conditions, circumstances at a point might squeeze hope out of us but we must understand that we have an edge when we still have life. When there is life, there is hope that you can get the best out of life, you can turn things around for yourself and the people around you, everything ends when life ends.
I hope Nightbirde's journey sends a message to us all, I know she is free from every pain she felt as she struggled with cancer till she departed and she is in a better place.
I called her an angel because she has spread love, hope, happiness and that's what angels do.
Are you one of them? Ask yourself.
May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
