Did you notice the word "sometimes" I put in the title? Yes, I am sure you did cos I am sure you read the title so well.
Do you expect a farmer who did all his best every blessed day for 365 days busy wetting his farm with water and making sure he does the necessary things to make the crops grow but in the end harvest a little? Hmm, it may happen, right? A person who works for 365 days in an office but at the end was given a penny as his salary, can this happen too? The loudest of it all is a person who just sits down under the Air conditioning in the office for 24hrs but in the end, was paid a huge amount of money as salary, is this not possible too? Enough of the questions, let get to read a short story before you finally decide maybe it is sometimes or not.
A SHORT STORY;
There is a village that rain refused to drop for years and they really need it for their plant to grow again. They tried all their best to make it happen but it didn't, so they heard about a traditional herbalist that can make rain to fall. All the villagers gather together with the king and call on the man, they called the man DIBIA ( In Igbo It means a traditional priest ). The priest told them to get a big goat for a sacrifice unto the gods and they all agreed but to the priest surprise, they brought a small goat. The priest didn't say anything but carried on with the sacrifice. When he was done, he told them that they should wait for just 2 hours that rain will fall.
After 2 hours, the sky begins to change, there were great thunder and the cloud begin to form water vapour on the face before the villagers could know it, the rain started drizzling. The villagers and the king start leaping for joy that finally, it's going to rain but to their surprise, the rain drizzle for just 30 minutes, after that, the sun came out shining so bright like it never drizzles. The king got angry and call on the priest and when he showed up in the village, they told him what happened and he replied to them saying what is the size of the goat I asked you to bring for sacrifice and they answered that he said the big one. The priest now asked again that did they bring the big one and they said no that they brought a smaller one, so he said small goat for small rain and the big goat for the big rain and that they deserve what they received. That's how they couldn't do anything to him and left him alone.
What's the purpose of the story? Well, the story is trying to tell us that when we work very hard, we get to have something huge in the result but it's not always like that every time and that's what I have been trying to say since the beginning of my article. Those who work very hard are indeed supposed to enjoy their hard work, many do and many don't. There is a saying in Yoruba land that "ise ko lo wo" meaning work is not money, we have many that are under the hot sun all day but in the end, they will earn a little some earn. We also have people that are just in the corner of their room and are earning a lot legally. Will you say life is not balanced? If you say so then you are right.
I have always thought of those people who the job of load carrier in my country here in the market if it was hard work people use to have a lot of money, they will be the one to have a lot of money but it's not like, those who use a truck to deliver heavy loads to people under the hot sun, sweating like there is no tomorrow should have a lot of money if it's by hard work but the reverse is the case.
What then can I say to balance this? I posted about the title of the article on noise.cash and I gave them a highlight of what the article will look like and a friend of mine @King_Gozie said something which makes me think deeply and discover that it's just the truth. He said, "We should just work smartly".
All we need to do is to work smartly and not just work because we want to work, there should be the application of wiseness and wisdom in whatever we do, by doing this, will give us an edge over other fellow workers and make us succeed. We have many people that have the strength to work very hard in a company while many will just be there to offer wisdom that will lead to the progress of the company. The person who offers wisdom is being paid higher than that of the person who offers strength and that's why a popular musician said in his music that " we should learn to be smart cos they are only paying people with knowledge and not hard work ".
I should put a stop here, I hope we all understand all I have tried to explain here, let's hold unto it and apply to it to our daily life. Thank you so much for reading my article, God bless you all.
My prayer for the Philippines that are experiencing the typhoons, I pray the Lord will be with them and keep them safe 🙏🙏🙏.
Bye for now 🥰🥰🥰.

Being smart to me means doing something in a unique way, differently. If you are not different, you are not needed. So work hard but in a smart way
