The first month of the year is about to end already, yet here I am again, sharing some of the things that I plan to do this 2022.
I have shared before that every first day of the year, I write down and have my own list of things that I want to do before the year ends, which is more like my "goals" that gives me a sense of fulfillment if I get to achieve them.
These things are actually not that grand but I want to do them as a treat to myself because I think I deserve it too for working so hard all these years.
1. Have my Room Ceiling fixed
Last August 2020, I decided to build my own small house or just a spacious room that has a bathroom in it, a huge space for my study and working area, and just enough space for all of my things, just like a studio-type apartment but a simpler one. It's one of the projects that I want to build for myself because I want my room to become my safest place in the house, or like a sanctuary. I planned to make it like the ones I usually saw on Facebook before where every small space is utilized. But because of a lack of budget and prioritizing other important things, I didn't get to finish the project. Last year, around June, I planned again to continue the project, and that is to start putting up a ceiling so that it will not be hot during the summer. But again, the plan just ended up becoming a plan because I chose to just contribute the money I saved for paying up my parents' debt.
So this year, I hope that I get to have the ceiling of my room fixed already since the wood material that is needed in putting up a ceiling is already readily available. I think that it will cost around $100 to $200 including the labor and other materials needed so it is also one of the things I'm saving up today.
2. Visit a Dental Clinic
Perhaps, this is one of the effects of watching Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha now. Well, I have been saying so many times that HomeCha is one of my favorite Korean Romantic Comedy dramas and it reminded me of taking good care of my teeth, because how am I going to enjoy eating food if my teeth are not in their best condition.
I'm not saying that I have a problem with my teeth. They're all perfectly fine. However, I don't even remember when was the last time I visited a dental clinic and consulted a dentist. I think the last time was when I had my damaged tooth removed when I was still in Elementary. So this year, I decided to add it up to my list of goals and have my teeth checked up and have them cleaned up. Brushing my teeth three times a day is not enough because there will be some tartar or hard coating on the teeth that will not be removed by a toothbrush, and only teeth cleaning can have it removed.
3. Donate Blood to Red Cross
I plan to donate blood twice this year. Perhaps, around June and December. This is one of my main goals every year since I got to donate blood last January 2020 and just recently, around December 2021, because I just like the act of donating blood, which saves lives and is also beneficial to me as a donor.
The other day, I read a post on Facebook asking her Facebook friends that they badly need type O blood. And my blood is also Type O so I immediately thought that I'm compatible to donate. Sadly, I was far from their location and I'm not yet allowed to donate. However, it would be nice to donate blood to someone who badly needs it because there will be a direct beneficiary of the blood donated.
4. Eat out once a month
When I was still in my first year in college, I used to eat out every other week or once a month as a reward for myself for working hard in my studies. I used to set aside a small amount for eating out in a restaurant or food house. And when the pandemic came, I didn't get to do it anymore since there are no near restaurants in our place that serve satisfying food. But this year, I added it to one of my goals so that I get motivated every month. It doesn't have to be that grand where I spend a huge amount for it. I just want to eat satisfying food once in a while, like burgers, fries, chicken wings, milk tea, and something like that.
So these are the four things that I want to do this year. They're not that grand but they still require money to achieve so these are already enough reasons for me to continue hustling every day.
Albeit late, cheers to a memorable 2022!
Cheers to a memorable and healthy 2022 for you too my friend.
