Coffee When I was a kid, I wonder why my father and my grandpa always talk a lot. I mean, they never run out of topics whenever we visit their house during the weekends. My grandparent's house is just a few steps away from home. Conversations will start after my grandpa finished making coffee for them. Sometimes, he makes me some hot chocolate drink and he makes sure that it is lukewarm before he gives it to me. I never get tired of his world war 2 stories and how he survives. My grandpa has a collection of soldier memorabilia, badges, and other vintage things that I find fascinating. I miss them both. I'm really close to my grandfather than my dad. One time, my dad spank me because I almost broke our television when I throw something inside the house. I ran to my grandpa's house and decided to sleep there for that night but my dad came after a couple of hours and told me to go home. Now that I'm older, Coffee is really important to get through the day. It's not just a drink, it's a form of " rest ", rest from everything that's bothering you, rest from all the daily struggles that you're facing. Every sip of coffee is like a warm embrace telling you to move forward and never quit your dreams just because you're tired. Now that I'm older, I realized that adults never run out of things to talk to because it's all in their heads for a long time. Whenever I have the opportunity, I always share my thoughts with my friends. However, there are times that I want to keep everything to myself. Here, inside my mind. People always find me starring into space. I have a lot of things in mind, most of the time they tend to rumble and I don't know how can I manage to keep them. They are all in my head. At night. Before I go to sleep. They don't want me to sleep. Things that keep me awake at night are the plans that I wanted to take place as soon as possible but will still require time in order to accomplish. Things that I hope will happen soon because I want my mom to experience them before it's too late. God knows I'm trying, but the only thing that I have now is myself. No one's here to help. They only care about their own future while I am continuously sacrificing my dreams just to make sure that I will give them a decent future. Sometimes, I wonder what if I decided to leave it all behind. Set aside all the responsibilities that I have right now and start a new life with just me. But when I do that, my conscience will hunt me every night, also, I told my dad that I will take care of mom. Look at these words I have in mind. To be honest, they're just the same as my previous articles. but that is what's inside my brain right now and they keep coming back. The only thing that I can do to help me not overthink this is to publish them here. I write them in a journal way back then the good thing is we have read cash now. It's not just a platform but a form of therapy I swear. ;

Alcohol It's been a week since I last wrote an update here. I swear the past couple of weeks have been emotionally and physically draining. Here in the Philippines, we are currently experiencing some drastic changes in weather. Sometimes it's really cold at night and in the morning, sometimes it's super hot in the daytime. This is a random update, to be honest, I just based my title on what I'm currently seeing in front of my laptop. lol, what is the things that keep you busy recently? I've been really busy working in the past weeks but I manage to treat myself in the form of donuts and milk teas. What else, I ordered a frame online. I can't remember how many times I had to change my eyeglasses because my grade keeps getting higher and it sucks living with blurry vision. Everything looks faded and I remember when I was ordering a meal in a fast-food restaurant I wasn't able to see the menu clearly so I ordered the wrong meal and I have no choice but to eat it instead of asking the crew to change it with my preferred meal. I miss the beach too. I remember last year, we had a couple of outings and it is just the start of the year and it's not even summer. I'm glad we did that because a pandemic happens and we can't go out for a year now. I'm just kinda jealous of people who are living near the coast or near the ocean. Some noisers are posting photos of the beach and it looks fun. I wish we can go to the beach soon and I hope that this pandemic will soon end. I miss doing the things that we usually do. I admit, at first, I am enjoying this lockdown but things are getting worst and it seems like we are heading to the same scenario due to these new variants of the virus that arise recently. follow me on noise.cash ( Don26 ) keep safe! ;

@Don26

Vet Hola, what's up with you guys? At last, I have the time to update you here. Yesterday, I took our cat chewy ( my sister gave him this name and I hate it ) to the vet. He is sick for the last couple of days and we thought that he just needed some rest but it got worst. He doesn't want to eat nor drink and looks sad and weak. pardon my blurry image, I was sitting at my work station that time and I decided to take a photo from afar. He looks different and doesn't want to play. He's a very playful cat so, it feels weird when he's just laying still. My mom can't help but worry. We just lost a dog last new year so the trauma is still there. After some research on social media, I finally decided to bring him to the vet. I saw some posts wherein the cat died a day after they noticed it becomes weak. I also hate people suggesting different types of medications like ginger and wild grass and can't explain why. You need a vet people if you want the pet to stay alive. He's very quiet here. The vet warns me about the meds that he needed and how painful it is for him. They need to give him a shot of antibiotic on the muscle part. They had to wear protective gloves because they might get bitten during the procedure. This was taken when they're getting his temperature. His temperature was 40 degrees that time. Human starts to seizure at this temperature. Now I know why he's a bit shaky when I look at him earlier. When they gave him the shot for an antibiotic, that was the loudest meow that I heard from him. Indeed it was painful, they also gave him a shot for boosting his energy and I'm glad he recovered faster than we expected. When we brought him home, he starts to eat and drink. He even starts to walk and roam around the house like he always does. A good sign that the medications are effective. ( They should be, they're kinda pricey lol ) I hope he gains his strength soon and be a playful cat again. Thanks for ready this far. Keep safe! ;

January 21st, 2021 It's a very busy and tiring week indeed. I did not notice that it's already the 4th week of January. So far, 2021 is full of blessings and surprises. However, a lot of my workmates are planning to resign and apply to a different company because of stress and most of us are always working beyond the shift due to a huge amount of workloads. This article is about random things. I just wanna release everything that's bothering me for the past few weeks. I'm feeling burnout. not because I'm working really hard but because still, I'm seeing people here in the house who choose not to help me even if they can. I am feeling tired because I want something for myself but I end up spending on the people who are capable of working but they choose not to because I'm already earning for our living. I shared this with some of my close friends. That is the first time that I told them about my family. I was surprised that they are aware of how I feel and I felt really comfortable while sharing what I'm going through. One thing they told me, leave the house. They said those people will not gonna learn how to stand on their own if I still let them think that I have no problem spending money on them which supposed to be for my mom and sibs alone. I always thought of leaving this house but one thing is hindering me from doing so. My mom doesn't want to leave the house because no one will take care of those people, the house. My peace of mind has been set aside for a long time. I always think that leaving this house will only cause trouble for our family. but most of the time, I am annoyed by how those people behave. They have no respect for everything. They have no respect for the food that my mom prepares because whatever my mom cooks they will cook a different one that will suit their fancy tastebuds. They don't care about you. All they know is how they can survive by being a burden. A burden to me they are. I wanna tell them that I am just a 25year old guy who still wants to do a lot of things but I feel like I am tied to these obligations. An obligation to raise a child that is not even mine. It's not my fault that their father leaves them at an early age even if it's an accident, I should not be the one who's raising these kids. Am I wrong for having this point of view? Am I wrong for having these thoughts, I may be wrong because the kids are my nephews and niece and they don't have any place to go except here and their grandmother's house. But I tell you, my sister has been a pain in the arse ever since she decided to settle down. My parents only accepted them after she gave birth to her first child. but my sister and her husband worked together while my mom takes care of the baby. This is one of the reasons why I am super against teenage pregnancy. The parents are the first to suffer since they can't still stand on their own. What grinds my gear is they can't give anything to my mom for taking care of the kids. They already saved a lot of money by not hiring a nanny, how about giving something to my mom. but no, during payday they told my younger sibs to bring the kids back home while hiding everything they bought. Until now, I am not okay with this setup. For years, they use my parents as someone who will fetch the kids to school, someone who will prepare them for school. But my parent got nothing in return. Sometimes, I can't help myself but feel bad about my mom too because she keeps on letting my sister do that to her. My point of view will always be different from them because they're already a grandparent and they always want the best for their grandchildren. but I can't stand this anymore. I've been keeping this inside of me for a long time. The hatred, my resentments from them. I don't know how long can I hold on to this. ;

Our Bathroom Renovation This is the first project that I had for this year. Bathroom renovation! little by little I hope I can fully renovate our house before the rainy season starts. I decided to start with our bathroom. I already renovated our kitchen 2yrs ago but still, it is not finished yet. The construction lasts up to 4 days but I did some minor touches before I became satisfied with it. Here's the **BEFORE:** ( this is really gross I swear ) Ever since we never really had a decent comfort room, I'm always shy when visitors asked if they can use the bathroom. Also, as an introvert, I'm not a fan of inviting people to my place because I hate how it looks. walls are made of old roofs which I think is from our very first house. The bottom part starts to rust and continues to destroy the entire wall. You can't even tell that this is a comfort room but for years, we are using this. My mom told me that she wants to replace the old roof with a new flat iron type but I told her not to since I am planning to renovate the entire bathroom. We started to gather some materials after I had a talk with the guys who will do the construction. Fortunately, I can afford to be a little more sophisticated about what it should look like. Let us say that I have just enough funds for this. My mom chooses the design for the textile but I made sure that it is still in line with what I am invisioning. We never had shower heads in my entire existence. I swear lol I deserve this. I know this doesn't look like something you can see on Pinterest but this is the cheapest, we can change this in the future if I want to. Also, I'm trying to minimize the overall expenses so as long as it is functioning, it's good to go. This door is a little pricey, I am looking for a normal PVC door but there's no stock left here in my area so I have no choice but to buy this one. Well, the guys told me that this is much better than the PVC one because this is made of pure aluminum. This picture was after they fully installed the tiles. the next day they installed the shower heads and the faucet. Everyone was pretty excited about this because this is the first time that we have this very decent bathroom. shower heads are now installed on this photo. I am very excited to go to the nearest DIY store to shop for some other extra accessories for the bathroom like towel racks, mats, and side racks storage. Even a new set of pail and dipper ( something that is always present in a Filipino bathroom you know ) tada! this towel rack is the star of this renovation actually. It's their last piece! Luckily, I got the last one because this is really what I wanted. Saw this on the internet and on some condo bathrooms. For reference. The guys told me that I am very meticulous about the things that I want to incorporate into the bathroom. Let's say, I did a lot of research for this. lol and this, I bought it for mobile phones. because I want to listen to music even inside the bathroom. I bought a separate one for the soap. This mirror really complements the rest of the bathroom accessories that I bought. As you can see, I made sure that the colors that I bought for these are from white to silver and some touch of grays. but there's a green organizer on the previous photo. My sister bought that which I really hate lol It doesn't match the theme. bought one of this back scrubber thing too. My mom always asking someone to scrub her back. lol **BEFORE AFTER** and that's it! I just want to tell you that I am very happy with the outcome. I know this might sound like a simple thing for everyone but for a person who grew up without having this kind of bathroom, this means a lot to me. I can say that this is one of my greatest achievements in life and I hope that this is not the end because my mom is really excited to renovate the entire house. I hope I can still earn more from my sidelines and regular job so I can fund the renovation of the entire house. I promise myself I'll start to renovate when I finally fully purchased this piece of lot that we're currently in. I hope you got inspired by this and continue to chase your dreams. Time will come, I'll be doing an article for the house renovation :) keep safe everyone! ;

Noise.Cash I'm promoting this simplified platform to everyone now. I'm surprised that not everyone in noise.cash know about read.cash. I've been using noise for like 3 days and I already earned $2. You can earn more maybe if you spend more time on this site but I'm trying to use it along with my other beer money sites. Thanks to @bmjc98. I was skeptical at first but I fell in love with the side for the first time that I'm using it. I already mentioned this before but this website is like Twitter but they're paying you to post random stuff. Imagine talking to yourself but you're getting paid to express everything under the sun. You heard it right, everything that is in your mind. Just like read.cash but here they're requiring you to create an article with 300+ words ( which I prefer ) lol Here's my income for the last 3 days that I'm using this site. One of the few things that I love about this website aside that it is very easy to navigate. There's a lot of fellow Filipino users there you can interact with. I forgot who said this but it's true that those who are silent readers here become active on that site. Give it a try! Keep safe everyone! ;

@Don26

Rainy Days Hi everyone, I know it's a bit sad to see people quitting on this platform but maybe they find noise.cash easier to navigate and the flow of the tips there are continuous too. I realized that some of the new users there don't know what read.cash is. So, I'm trying my best to advertise this platform as well. It's raining a lot here in the Philippines. I'm loving the temperature, to be honest, unlike the scorching hot summer that will force you to take a bath a couple of times a day. Before Christmas, I had a chance to video chat with my friends in San Francisco, California, and some of my friends here in the country. It's been a while since the last time we talked. I am so glad that we finally see each other again ( virtually ) even though it's 12 midnight in the US at that time. We had a few chit chats on what's going with their lives, I know it is a challenging year but fortunately, we made it through. The fact that we managed to stay alive is a huge blessing for everyone. **Grieving while Celebrating** A couple of hours before the end of 2020, I woke up seeing my dog in a life and death situation. I don't know what to do with him, I know he's nearly dying, I'm frozen. My mom told me to rush him to the nearby vet but he died just before I send him to the vet. I'm crying and grieving all day. I don't know how to celebrate new years eve but I tried to because my mom works hard to prepare the food. I'm not in the mood all day. I keep on thinking about who did this to my dog. We saw a piece of candy on the floor when he's struggling. No one's giving candy to my dog, that's why I had this feeling that the candy has something on it. A few days ago, a neighbor told my mom that my dog is super loud. That my dog might be hungry because it keeps on barking. but I have 2 dogs, and I admit that the other one keeps on barking at anything. That made me think that she's the one who poisoned my dog. But I don't have any idea so I will just let karma deal with it. **New year's eve** I refused to celebrate Christmas and New Year's eve for the past 2 years since my father left. But I think we deserve to celebrate this year. There's a lot of challenges that we conquered this year that are worth celebrating. The first one is having a stable job despite pandemics. My mom's successful eye operation and the fact that no one from this household acquired the covid-19 virus. Also, I bought a handful of these sparklers but they end up burning like a match. They don't spark! such a waste of money. Again, happy new year everyone. I miss my dog. :( Keep safe! PS: If you're on noise.cash, please subscribe to Don26. see you there! ;

Happy New Year read.cash! Happy new year everyone. I'm thankful for every opportunity that we had to earn during this pandemic. This may not be as much as those who have regular work but we play a huge role in making this platform successful. I've been through a lot this year. I laugh, cried, and felt hopeless but get back up. I'm so glad that we made it this far. I admit, 2020 is different from the previous years but it's not bad after all. It taught me how to be strong and how to focus on my goals. I learned a lot. I see the world differently now. I value more the things that I'm taking for granted before. I had more time with my mom and myself. | **Long time no see** Last Sunday, my friends visited me. March this year when we last bond. It took us 9 months before we finally met again. I'm really glad to see them again. I wasn't able to see them for a long period of time because of our community lockdown. We had some coffee at the nearby coffee shop and had a good talk about everything that happens during the lockdown. We always update each other virtually but seeing them face to face is a different kind of experience. lol To be honest, I'm at this point in my life where I don't what to do next. I'm glad that I'm able to achieve most of my 2020 goals and maybe I'll just stick to this path that I'm currently on. It's the total opposite of what I'm expecting but it turned much better than my plans. **RANDOM STUFF** | **Company year-end treat** This is so random, haha but my company sends us money to buy food and I bought one of the popular food chains here in the Philippines, Jollibee. I also tried this spicy Korean noodle. I already tried the non-spicy version of this one. ( PS: Please don't pour all the spicy sauce when you try this ) Bought my pets with foods ( that they don't wanna eat on a regular basis cause they used to eat rice ) This catto is becoming more playful haha she keeps on climbing everywhere. Also, I found a completely identical stray cat haha ( 2nd photo ) I named her Matilda ( No, I didn't bring her home. ) She use to stay outside a building together with a white cat. Look at those eyes haha very fierce. I wanna share more but maybe in another article. Again, happy holidays and may you have a wonderful year ahead. Keep safe everyone! ; Also, add me on noise.cash @ Don26

Last one thing This is in response to my article: https://read.cash/@Don26/my-advice-to-teenagers-nowadays-8a75ad42 The year was 2012 and I wrote something on a piece of paper. Things that I want to achieve in the next 5years. **Education, Job, Mom's healing, House, and a lot.** Well, technically it's been 8 years since I wrote it and it's kinda overdue. but you know what, if you really want to succeed in life, you should not stop until you finally reach your goals. **Education** I failed to finish college because we need to prioritize my mom's medication. so I just took some short course which enables me to land my very first job. **Job** They say that the beginning was always the hardest but I'm blessed to have a very understanding boss that supports me with meals and a room to stay. I didn't get the chance to save from my first job but this leads me to a lot of opportunities. **Mom's Healing** To be honest, my mom's healing was the most impossible of all the things I wrote. At that time, she was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer, I can't remember how many times do we need to send her to the hospital because she was very ill until she finally undergoes a lung operation where the doctors extracted half of her left lung where cancer cells are continuously ruining both of her lungs. She's living her life to the fullest now. **House & Lot** This pandemic is not that bad at all. I am able to apply for a work from home set up. I tried my hardest to save. I want to spend on the things I need but after a few meetings with myself, I realized that it is not that important lol so, I just kept the money on my account until I am able to buy this land where we currently live. In my 25years of existence, this is the only time where don't have to rent anymore. I don't know what to feel. It's a mixed emotion. I am happy because we finally have a property that we can call our own, but a bit sad because dad can no longer celebrate with us. The house still needs major renovations, which I promise myself to do by next year. Hopefully, I can earn enough for repairs because that would be a lot of works. I still struggle sometimes thinking that some of my age was able to acquire a lot of properties like houses, cars, and businesses. but not everyone has the same fate. Some are starting from scratch again because their homes were damaged by storms and some took advantage of this pandemic to start their own businesses. I just hope that everyone still finds a way to reach for their dreams. It's okay to pause for a while, I know it's tiring. There are times when you felt like nothing's happening but what important is that you keep moving forward, and when you're at your lowest, always remember why you even started. You've been through a lot to just quit. ;

@Don26

Reconnected Yesterday I was so blessed to finally meet my friends that I haven't seen for a long time. I can say that the quarantine here has no longer that strict and people can go outside more often to do the things that they're not able to do during the lockdown. but of course, with proper social distancing and preventive measures. Alcohols, sanitizers should be carried along with you when you go outside. They are the same people from my article https://read.cash/@Don26/im-back-bfa323c1 we used to meet virtually but I'm so glad that we can already bond now, face to face. We had samgyupsal at samgyupsalamat near our place. It's a famous Korean restaurant where you can grill strips of meat in front of you. A little chit chats about what's happening in their lives for the past months. I can say that this pandemic really changes our lives for good. There are a lot of bad things that happened like closures of businesses and losing jobs but still, there are some goods things like being able to work from home and spending more time with the family. **Yesterday morning I received this email.** One of the few things that I'm waiting for before this year ends. This another design challenge that I participated in already announced the winners and luckily, 2 of my design made it to the cut. I am so happy even though I'm expecting that I'll be winning more than 2 designs. ( I'll share with you my winning card once they already launched it for sale ) **This pandemic is not that bad at all for some reason:** 1. I managed to cut some of my extra expenses and add them to my savings instead. Imagine spending too much on this stuff that you'll not gonna use for a long time. Before, my mindset was like I need to reward myself every payday. I don't totally disagree with, but in the long run, I realized that I'm spending too much on the things that I'll just keep aside when I no longer " want " them. 2. We adopted this little fur baby My sister named her chewy, same question, I don't know why too. She's a stress reliever even though we can't stand her nails. haha but she loves to sleep beside us and curl herself like a ball of yarn. Keep safe everyone! I hope you're having a good day. ; shoutout to @bmjc98 @wakeupkitty @Hanzell @CryptoWordsmith @Macronald and @SirPotato

Greedy My grandma once had a bunch of properties under her name. My mom said that she came from a wealthy family and her parents inherited her some lands. However, my grandmother wasn't able to finish schooling so she doesn't know how to handle money that well. She thought that a small amount of money is a huge amount already cause she doesn't know how to count. She also has this attitude of selling everything she has for a small amount of money. I am one of her 6 grandchildren and when I get older I can't help but get annoyed by her decisions in life. I grew up renting, we almost got kicked out of the house we're staying in because we cannot afford the rent when my dad lost his job. When I got older and I can't help but think what if she just gave us even 1 of those properties that she sold for a small amount of money. Maybe we're not like this. Maybe, the only problem that I have right now is saving for the construction of this house. **I can say that she's a greedy person.** I remember when my mom told me that my grandmother's mindset is like **it's better if she sells those properties for a cheaper price instead of giving it to us, to my mom. Look at her now, she's living with us for a long time. After she sold everything she had,** she keeps on building a small room beside every land that we rented and even connects to our electricity, and sometimes her food is on us too. I understand that she's getting old and she needs someone to take care of her but at the back of my mind, she's still that greedy person. My mom is her daughter and she let her experienced being mocked and ridiculed by landowners even if she has properties where we can build our home. Last time, we were eating lunch and my mom told me that she's going to give our leftovers to my grandmom because they don't have food. I agreed but I got annoyed because it seems like their food is my problem too. I'm not mad at her for no reason. She always tells everyone in the neighborhood everything that is happening inside our home. Our family doesn't get along with the neighborhood that much because the only thing that they wanna do is gossip. They love to talk about everyone's lives while they can't even manage to have a decent one. There comes a time when my dad finally got the chance to have a few possessions. My grandma told him that he will not able to attain those without us, his children. I was like, and now what? I think my dad deserves to have all these things after all these years. and what important is we don't ask anything from her. I want to build our home away from them. I want to build a home away from this neighborhood too. but how can I do that if my grandmother is always building an extension of her house beside ours? I don't know anymore. I wanna abandon her like the days she still has everything. I don't care if she keeps on telling people that we are treating her unfairly because she always comes back to us. **My mom was the total opposite of her attitude and I am so glad of that.** She keeps telling me that she doesn't want us to experience everything that she experience when she was little. Everything she experienced from my grandma. From going to school without anything in her pocket and not supporting her with schooling so she ends up only finishing 2nd year in secondary education but still managed to give us a decent life. :'( that's why I'm working really hard to give my mom a better life. she deserves everything and I love her so much. ;

@Don26

I think someone's withdrawing my $. How did you know if someone is withdrawing your funds? I checked my wallet and there's only one address. but my balance and the tip that I'm getting from random rewarder is not the same. ( I know that this might be the bitcoin's current exchange ) but from $3 i only have $2.50 now which is a huge gap. is this normal?

@Don26

Not everyone is your friend. When you get older, you tend to realize that is better to have a small circle than having a bunch of people. I realized this when I start working on my second job. I cannot always attend to their eat-outs and out of town trips. They thought I was just trying to refuse their invitation but little did they know I was struggling for years to make a living. I'm at this point in my life where I already retired from night outs, drinking sessions, and other activities that require me to spend more than my salary and will require me to spend time with people I don't personally know. There are times and I still felt the bitterness from them. Like they don't want to invite me anymore cause they know my answer will be NO. but I don't care cause I make time for them whenever I'm available and I make sure to attend those important events in their life. **It sucks when people think you're always available** It sucks when you let them feel like you're always available every time they want you around. It sucks when you're the one who wants someone to talk to in times you're feeling low but you end up not talking to everyone because no one tries to listen. I've been in this situation for a long time. I can say that my friends are comfortable sharing their struggling in life with me. I've heard a lot of relationship issues, family problems even those I am not totally related to. **I still listen** I still listen. They are my friends. But there are times when I am the one who needs someone to listen but I can't talk to anyone. I tried. but not everyone will understand your situation except they experienced it on their own. Last time, a friend of mine told me that her mom always demands more than what she's giving for their budget. Even though my mom is not that kind of person, I understand her situation because I am also working for my family. I told her this is the only time where I'm able to talk with someone who has the same situation as me. I told her to leave me a message whenever she felt like there's no one to listen to. ( That time she tried to contact her best friend but leaves her on seen ). **Maybe, I am the one to blame.** I always make people comfortable sharing their problems with me. I am a good listener, and I'll try to make you feel like I am that person who will always here to listen to you no matter what happens. That's why I can't help but feel disappointed if people find it hard to understand if I'm not available sometimes. Cause there are times that I have to sacrifice or choose between invitations just to attend one. These past few years. I've met a lot of temporary people and I have no regrets. People come and go. but there are still people who will stay no matter what happens. I always make sure that I left a good memory for everyone I've met. I saw this quote on the internet. It says **" Sometimes your circle decreases in size but increases in value "** We are not teenagers anymore. We already have responsibilities to do. I don't totally set aside having fun, I still make time for important people in my life especially those who are present in my darkest days. but please understand that people have their own life and instead of feeling bad about them because they cannot go out with you like they use to. why not try to ask them first? They might need some help but they're just too shy to ask. Keep safe everyone. ;

How to deal with lazy brother? Do you ever had a child or a sib that is so stubborn? and you end up allowing them to do whatever they want cause it seems like they don't even care anymore. I am so frustrated but I don't wanna show him. I still support him in some things that he wanted to do what I stop caring cause it seems like he doesn't have future plans at all. I noticed that my brother becomes hard-headed when he started to get along with the people who don't even continue their schooling by choice. I mean their parents are very much willing to send them to school but they refuse to because they think that this just waste of time. Fortunately, my brother is in senior high now. but that is because his teachers keep on passing him even being absent for a long time. Right now, it is more difficult to convince him to do his tasks because everyone is in the comfort of their home. He always goes home late. My mom always needs his assistance since I am working from home and I cannot always help her with the house chores. but it will always end up me doing the things that he should be doing. When he told my mom he doesn't want to go to school, we let him stay in the house for a year until he decided that he wants to go back. That time I thought he will change but he does the same thing. He failed every class except those teachers who have given him some considerations because they don't want him in their classes anymore. Sometimes, I think that it will be easier for us to sustain our living if he will get a job since he doesn't want to go to school. Also, he is at the right age to get a job. When I was still 16yrs old, I already tried sending resumes in fast-food restaurants and convenience stores but I didn't get the chance cause I am still young. When I am 13 yrs old, I already know that we are not rich, that I have to work to help my parents raising the family. but my brother is very different. My mom raised him as someone who always depends on the people around him. I can say that my mom spoiled him for always doing the things that my brother should be doing by now. Whenever I felt like I have to shoulder everything for this family especially our finances. I can't help but think that my brother should be helping me too but It sucks to think that he will have a mindset like me. I always think of giving my mom a better life ever since my dad left. It's difficult before but it is much difficult now cause I am the only one who's working here. Props to every breadwinner of the family. I know you're tired but we choose to continue. I know the time will come that all this hard work will be paid off. Sometimes the people around us failed to recognize the things we do. The things we sacrifice for them even the dreams that we set aside. This is also one of the few reasons why I don't want to build my own family in the future. I already experienced raising kids that are not even mine. but don't get me wrong. I love them. That is why I'm working really hard. How about you? how will you respond in this kind of attitude? Good night. Keep safe everyone. ;

@Don26

Ulysses Hi, everyone. It's been a while since I last wrote here. The last couple of weeks was very challenging. 2020 is not yet done. and when I say, not yet done, I will still expect a lot of bad things to happen before this year ends. Not being so negative but this year has been a pain in the arse and I wish 2021 will be the complete opposite. **| November 12 midnight** That was the second time that I felt really anxious about this so-called " super typhoon ". ( The first one was way back in 2013 during typhoon Haiyan or Yolanda. ) 12 midnight, the electricity went off, and I thought that the typhoon was already traveling near our province but to my surprise, but since it is too massive even if it's still 200km far from my place, you will think that it's already landed in our province. The wind was so strong. My eyes are glued to my phone trying to keep up with the typhoon's location. **| 3am** The wind becomes stronger and we were just staring at the roofs praying that it will able to bear the wind. Our roof was so loud that time until my brother noticed that it was slowly elevating from the ceiling. That's where I start to panic. We immediately grabbed a rope and start to tie the roofs into the sofas so it will not get totally detached from our house. It was 12nn when we noticed that the wind became calmer. It was a long night indeed. but we are still blessed that we are still safe and our home is standing still unlike some other photos that I saw from our area wherein their houses are totally wrecked and some got soaked in the neck-deep flood. After the storm, we experienced having no electricity and a source of clean water for 5 days. That is the most crucial part. I had to leave for a while on my work and we can't have a decent sleep because of mosquitos. To cut the story short ( tho I know I already said a lot lol ) 5 days had passed and I already managed to go back to work but there are parts of this town and this country that still needs donations and help from us. We are blessed that we're able to survive this catastrophe so we don't hesitate to help too. | **November 18** I was looking for a group of people who are conducting a donation drive near our place. Fortunately, I saw this small group of teenagers and they are willing to pick up some old clothes ( but still wearable ) from us. This small organization is collecting donations for those areas that are greatly affected by typhoon ulysses. Some of these clothes are from my father and some are already too small for me. Even though there is a law here for not donating used clothes but I think as long as it still decent enough to wear will be fine. I hope everyone is safe. You may rarely see me writing articles here cause adulting requires you a lot of time but I promise to share with you all those important experiences in my life. shoutout to @bmjc98 and @wakeupkitty @esciisc Keep safe! ;

@Don26

Hi everyone, hope you're doing good. Keep safe always.

@Don26

Pray for philippines Everyone is busy preparing for this super typhoon " Rolly " or with the international name " Goni ". This is the widest and the largest typhoon that I have seen in my entire existence so far. This photo is from ****Philippine Weather System/Pacific Storm Update********.**** https://www.facebook.com/stormchasersPH/?__cft__[0]=AZWGdp34bZmsxeF6eoXbJZ1R9AvSQzWXjLRgaIok9BUC1gCVbo-fXhJFJ9LMKcL0s4Up1Q6Q4gCBb164SjjgdhQuVzlHgT_Ib52OGc2iYwlhcUZXXGzuT9HQVqK1DgcWv3bEIBQ1SJJ9o7R-_zv-By1BdI55lwDilMLaahCxmHqCUQ&__tn__=-UC*F The map on the left is the map of our country and it almost covered half of our map. I just hoping for minimal damages because our country is more prepared than the previous super typhoon that we encountered in the past years. We are not yet done fighting for coronavirus. People are forced to evacuate in a place where they're confined together with the rest of the evacuee and we cannot guarantee if there's no carrier of the said virus there. But they need to evacuate, especially those who are living near the coast. Every year, we have to face a different type of typhoons because our country is near the pacific ocean where typhoons are being formed. We are known for being strong. We will rise up after every storm. No matter how hard it is to start over, we always find a way to get up and continue with our lives. Thank God, we never experienced living in the evacuation centers. Our walls are not concrete but we are so blessed that our home is standing still. I hope the damages will not as great compared to the previous super typhoon last year like Haiyan. Keep safe everyone. ;

@Don26

Why do Millennials don't want babies? **Disclaimer:** Some of you might disagree with the points that I'm about to mention here but this is from a millennial's point-of-view and how they think raising a family is crucial nowadays. People nowadays are more focused on their careers. Some don't have enough personal time. One of my colleagues told me that he doesn't feel the work/life balance anymore, not because he's too workaholic but work demands most of his time. Some don't really like the idea of having kids even if they are in a relationship for a long time. I saw an article before while browsing on the internet and I found out that I am not the only person who doesn't want to raise kids in the future. Don't get me wrong. I love kids. I love them because they're still innocent and they just sleep, eat, and play. They look like a mini version of their parents. **Raising a family is no joke.** **You have to be financially & emotionally ready if you really want to settle down.** Most of my age nowadays can't even manage to have a better life for ourselves and what more if we already have a family. Think of it. You have to save funds for the house, for your wife's maternity. well, the government will help you with that but what if you don't have any government benefits like most of the teen nowadays. and that's not the only thing after your wife gave birth, it is now the start of another huge responsibility and that is you need to raise this child from day 1 and until this finish college. Sometime my friends who already have a family, shares their experiences as a father. They told me that there are times that they have to keep some cash for theirselves because their wife don't give them money and all the hard worked money will go to the family's budget. ( That's what you call responsibility and I understand that, but there are times that you have to treat yourself too ) **but when you start a family, it's not you anymore. You have to always consider everyone in your household.** I always hear this to my friends who started a family at an early age. They are still not done being single and tries to continue with the things that they usually do when they're still single. Then, one time I got to ask a wife. Just to be fair because I want to hear both sides. She said that even if her husband gave all the salary to her, whenever her husband wants something she lets him buy it as long as it will not affect the family's budget. and that enlightens me. Your wife is incharge of the family's budget. period. I have a sister and they live with us with her 2 kids. Her husband died in an accident a couple of years ago. It is never easy to settle down but what more if you're doing it alone. I'm always seeing her stressed and always irritated with her children. Well, I do hope that she can still find a partner so I don't get irritated when she's irritated to her childrens too. lol **I know that there's still a lot of people who loves the idea of raising a family in the future. No one's stopping you from that. Even if you're not financially and emotionally ready, if you really want to settle down, settle down. Life's too short, do the things you love to do.** While in my case, I might end up supporting this family forever. I can't imagine my family without me. No one will support them financially and that might be the biggest factor on why I don't want to build my own family because it seems like I was born to be like this. **However, I will always be grateful for my parents. They sacrifice a lot for me and my sibs. and I will always treasure everything that they did for me. Salute to all the parents out there and for making this world a better place for your children.** Keep safe. ;

@Don26

I hate everything There are times that I hate everything. I hate the way I look, the way I live, and the way things are going in my life. I'm not convinced of the quality of life that I'm currently living in. I hate that my walls are wood, I hate that I have no decent room wherein I can freely open the camera every time we have our company meeting. I hate where I live. I hate the people around it. The way they gossip. The way they talk about everyone's life. I wish I can live in a different place. I wish I can live a life that is far from them. I hate that I have to spend a little while some can spend a lot on the things that they really want. I hate that I have to look for the tag price a couple of times before I buy something for myself. I hate myself too. I hate that I have to be the father of this family at a young age. I hate that I have to shoulder the overall expenses. I hate everything. I hate my 5-year-old phone. I hate this life sometimes but there's a lot of things that I am blessed to have but I'm taking for granted. **Have you experienced this feeling too?** I guess, yes. We all have personal frustrations. We are getting frustrated for something that doesn't meet our expectations. I am always daydreaming. I'm always having these thoughts that one day I'm gonna achieve everything that I'm longing for right now. There's always a time for everything. but there are times that you are getting frustrated because you know yourself that you are trying your best to accomplish this. **I'm not done. I'm trying to vent because I'm not feeling okay today.** I hate that I can't order food for myself because I'm living with my sibs and my sister's children and I can't eat alone without ordering them too. I'm not selfish, It's just sometimes you want to pamper yourself but it will always end up that you have to treat every member of the family when you just want to eat. I hate that I have to pay for the bills. Alone. I hate that I have to ask who's food is in the fridge while they can freely eat whatever I set aside there. I don't have to feel sorry for everything that I've said. That's how I feel. From a breadwinner's point of view, I am so fricking tired. From the bottom of my heart. I am tired. Keep safe. :

@Don26

I miss my Dad I am writing this article because I felt really tired these past few days. Adulting has been draining my energy ever since I started working from home. But I have no choice but to continue because we are not rich and bills are not stopping they're always present and you have to be responsible for it. Here's my dad. When he left, everything changes. I have to work double-time. I have to fill his responsibilities to this family. I always ask him to guide me and help me with the things that I'm currently facing because things are getting overwhelming. It's been 2 years but the pain is still here. It's bittersweet. I love the idea that he's no longer in pain but I hate the fact that he's no longer with us and he can no longer celebrate with my achievements in life. I'm still grieving but I have to be strong at the same time because I promised to take care of my mom. My dad loves my mom so much even if they always fight in simple things. I can't move on still and I don't tell my sibs about this cause I know it is hard on their part too. But whenever I told my mom everything about dad, that's the time where we start to realize that we still haven't moved on. My father died after my sister's husband died in a motorcycle accident. It is the same year. Imagine how hard it is to grieve for two special people in your life. It is the most painful feeling that you can ever feel in your entire existence. I'm glad that I am able to be on his side even in his last hours. It's been a long road when we started his medication. He still wants to live, he told me about his plans for our home renovations, he tries to exercise his arms. but we really have to admit that everyone will die. But it's just painful because I know that he's not yet ready to leave us. He left a space in my heart. and no one can ever fill that. I am forever incomplete because of his departure. I felt like even if I achieved my greatest goal in life there's no sense at all. because he's not here anymore. I have to continue with life but I will be forever incomplete. This is the time where I realized I should've spent a lot of time working in a different place and just spend those years with them. I have so many regrets in life but the fact that I wasn't able to retire my dad from work gives me a whole lot of pain. The previous years have been the most challenging year for us. When we finally overcome this I felt like I am the strongest person on earth. This is where I started to have depression. I think of quitting life. I told God to stop whatever He's doing into our life because I can't bear it anymore. Hospitals have been my 2nd home, I go there after my shift ( Yes, I still work because we don't have funds for food if I did not do it. I sister lost her job because she has to attend to my mom's needs while confined on the hospital ) We set aside the fact that we still have 2 sibs left at home because mom needs our attention. It's tiring. but It helps me grow. It helps me realized a lot of things in life. I see the world differently because of the challenges that we faced. There are times that you want to quit but you have no choice but to continue. These are the days where I realized who's my real friends too. Even though I can't blame everyone because they also have their personal struggles but you can see who's always willing to help you in times where you felt like the whole world is falling apart. I miss you, dad. Hope you're doing well. :) keep safe everyone. ;

My Digital Illustrations ! ♥♥♥ This is a response to my article about watercolor artworks https://read.cash/@Don26/watercolor-artworks-24b9945c I promised to share my digital illustrations as well so here it is. It's 2016 when I started making digital illustrations. I'm not into using Adobe Illustrator before but I end up working for a company where this is the main software that they're using. I'm always amazed by how people can draw illustrations digitally because I grew up doing this in a traditional way. I've been to so many competitions wherein I only use oil pastel ( some called it cray-pas but I think that's the brand lol it's a Filipino thing we always call things by its brand name ) I'll share with you some of my work but I have to add a slight watermark to it to protect my work from being shared/use outside this platform. **PENI THE PIG** I dunno what the story behind this but the client wants me to create a pig in a business suit. approved. I made this one as a birthday gift. I always make huge heads for my subject haha maybe because I'm an editorial cartoonist when I was still in grade school and I love to watch cartoons when I was a kid. Some are pretty simple. This one is from my test exam from my current company. Luckily, I got the position. Here's a logo that I made for an online shop. and this one is from my first ever winning card on minted. It sells really well the last February. They printed a thousand copies of this during the classroom valentine season. This sitting giraffe. The clients want me to make a sitting giraffe. Quite funny though they gave me a reference which is a photo of pusheen the cat. That chunky bear, the client ask me to remove the blush. I felt bad -10 cuteness. haha This Christmas village was one of my entries for the holiday card contest but unfortunately did not made it to the cut. Yes, I have some works with a different language too. I had to learn how to write/type Arabic for this project. I created like 25 illustrations for this company. That's it. I wanna share with you guys more of my works but it will be a very long article. Hope you enjoy looking at some of my illustrations. Keep safe! goodnight. ;

I'm nowhere I suddenly felt sad for no reason. I suddenly felt like I was stuck in the middle of nowhere. I know I already published one article about having this feeling. What do I really want to do in life? I'm still not contented even though I know that I almost achieved some of my goals. I don't know. This is the worst thing when you're having depression. You cannot find the right words. It's just that I'm not okay. I always try to be positive in life but there are times that I felt like I'm useless. Maybe, I'm being hard on myself these past few weeks. I want my plans to turn into reality as soon as possible. But it will need a lot of time. I'm stuck. In between. I'm in the center of this void again. I have a thousand, No, a million thoughts in my head every night. I hate this. goodnight. :

@Don26

Don't rush on anything Today, I am so happy because @TheRandomRewarder is so very generous that I got this in just a week after I go back to writing here. This is the highest amount that I got so far a month after I joined here. But as I was saying, this is just the perks of joining here. Writing has been one of my escape whenever I felt like I don't want to bug my friends from sharing my thoughts. There's a bunch of members here who already quit writing ( I felt bad for them, but everyone has their own reason so I'll just leave it to them ) That is when @Read.Cash terminated the point system. On the brighter side, I can see lesser people who leaves nonsense comments nowadays. | **Don't rush on anything** This site has a lot of potentials. Especially for those who love to share their stories in the form of writing. I came across a lot of topics here and I can say that some of them are really worth the time to read. In writing, you can share everything. You can help everyone to have a better idea of a specific topic. I can't wait to see this site grows even more especially with the help of those who believe in @Read.Cash while they're still starting. Keep safe. ;

@Don26

My regrets in Life When I was young, I am annoyed by this song called " You're too young " ( Batang-bata ka pa ) in my language. This song is about telling the youth that they're too young to know everything in life. I am annoyed because I felt like I have nothing to prove as a child. But that changes when I grew older and I realize that this song turns out to be true. Some adults say I want to go back to the days where I don't have to pay bills. Days where your parents will let you sleep in the afternoon and you'll get spank if you don't. Now, you're a sleep-deprived corporate slave. You have no choice but to get up early in the morning and finish some tasks even after working hours. Adulting. It's a trap. Now I know why peter pan said don't grow old. ( He's my favorite character by the way ). When I started working, I don't have any concrete idea about my plans in life. All I do is work and spend. that was the year 2014, fortunately, I landed my first job at the age of 19. 2 years had passed, I have nothing but memories from my travels and concerts that I attended. I spend a lot of my salary for all the experiences that I wasn't able to attain when I'm still jobless. No regrets but I wish I save. Someone asked me. *" what is your biggest regrets in life ".* *I told them that I haven't got the chance to tell my dad that he can retire from his work and now it's too late because he's no longer with us.* Everyone was crying after I said that. We always want the best for our family and sometimes I felt like I'm not giving enough effort to obtain my goals in life. What I hate the most before is when my mom needs to ask someone to lend her some cash just to survive for a week until payday. It always ends up that the hard-worked salary will go to the debts. We're like a one-day-millionaire. We can only eat decent food every payday but they next day it will get back to normal. Canned goods, instant noodles, and worst are condiments. I told my mom I don't want to go back to those days. I'll try my best. I'll work hard to give her a better life. Yes, that is my responsibility now. *Some might say that your children should not be considered as your retirement plan but as a child who grew up seeing my parent working hard day and night just to sustain our needs, It is my honor to give them the life they deserve.* Dad will be forever in my heart and I promise him that I will take good care of my mom until my last breath. I can't wait to share my dreams slowly turning into reality with my mom. I'm 25 now. I always thought that I'm running out of time but the truth is I still have more time to reach my goals in life. Keep safe. Love your parents. goodnight. ;

@Don26

It's never too early or late to save When this pandemic happens, we were forced to work from home to lessen the physical contact from our colleagues but one of the advantages of this is I am able to save more. I admit, that I was not able to save on these past few years because I keep buying the things that I really want when I'm not yet working. Well, there's nothing wrong with that but in the long run, it will turn into an addiction. Every payday, I always have this in mind that I have to treat myself. It's either I'll buy food ( which I don't usually buy because it's expensive ) or buy clothes. Anything that will satisfy me. For the past few years, I'm always like this and it always turns out that I don't save. I save a little bit but when I saw something that I want to buy, I can't help but spend it. One time, I saw a video of this man, he is a financial adviser. In his videos, he always tries to point out that people should always save or invest. I learned from him the 3-day rule technique. When you really have the urge to buy this specific thing, You should ask yourself this 3 questions: *1. Do I really need this?* *2. What will happen if I don't buy this?* *3. What will happen if I bought this?* Then, If you really want it. Wait for 3 days and after 3 days, you decide if you really need it. That's how I decide now. and when you grow older, you'll realize that you're spending too much money on the things that will not benefit you in the future. Here are a few saving tips that I learned so far: **1. Choose basic clothes versus what's trendy** - I'm guilty of this. I always want my clothes to go in style. I want my clothes to be what's on-trend. Well, maybe because I'm still in my 20s. But what I learned from buying basic clothes rather than stylish and trendy one is basic clothes don't go out in style. You can always wear them without being called old-fashioned. For example, this classic converse ***Chuck*** Taylor ***All Star.*** I had a few pairs of this when I'm still in grade school and when I'm in high school and they're never out of style. I'm still seeing people wearing these classic kicks. **2. Bring your own food -** This is when you're working. Instead of buying foods on the nearby convenience store or in the cafeteria. I know some of you might say " I don't have a lot of time to prepare so I always buy my food ". but it is a matter of how you manage your time. However, I also failed to follow this. Even when I have my packed lunch. If I saw my favorite meal/food in the cafeteria 10/10 I will buy that. But the important thing is you don't do this on a regular basis. **3. Learn to say NO -** Some of my colleagues always want to eat outside after shift and most of the restaurants that they want are not cheap. I mean it's good if there's something to celebrate like you do this occasionally but your savings will suffer if you do this on a regular basis. One time, I'm serious about my savings and my friends want to buy this drink. I tell then I don't want to but they keep on bugging me. They end up buying me one cause they can't convince me to spend. I felt bad because they have to buy me but in the end, It's like my way of telling them that I don't want to spend too much because I want to save. **4. Wait for SALE -** If you can notice, malls usually do sale every end of the month. However, you have to bear in mind that " Doesn't mean it is on sale, you need to buy it ". Some people usually caught up in this trap. They thought that when they bought an item on sale, they're saving a lot of money. but the question is, do you really need it? Yes, you bought it on sale but if you don't really need it you'll end up wasting money rather than saving. For Example, I need extra memory for my laptop. The regular price is around $80 but I waited for the sale and that time the discounted price is $60 plus the other vouchers that they offer during that sale period. I end up saving almost $20 from that. I need that so badly before the sale, but I choose to wait. I know some of you might disagree with some of this but these are the things that I learned from my experience and it helps me save more. ***" It's ever too early or late to save "*** If you reach this point, thank you for ready this article. Keep safe! ;

My Leader is Stressing Me Out! This week was so tough and one of the reasons is because they fired my current team leader and they had to make major changes on our team. I was surprised to know that they had to fire my team leader due to his inconsistent performance. Even though I felt like he deserves that since the team is suffering because of him, he helps me a lot when I'm still starting. A week ago, they have to shuffle the team. I am transferred to a new team leader. They already warned us that this person is very strict but I also heard a lot of good things about him. I ignored all the negative things that I heard about him until I experienced how he manages his team. It took me a week to realize what they meant about him being strict. No doubts, he is a good leader. He makes sure that he is providing enough information and that we truly understand the project that we are working on. However, there are times that I felt dumb. He always points out about your mistakes to the point that he needs to call you just to ask why such a thing happens. " I already told you about this earlier, why did you still do this " " I already draw your instruction, why the output comes differently " **I'm burnout.** It feels like even if you did great you're always end up being scolded for that one mistake. Well, I'm not new to this. I've been in the corporate world for a couple of years and I've met a lot of people with different attitudes. You just have to learn how to deal with them. **The good side.** The good thing about my new team leader is he is pushing me to my limit. The more I felt like I am not giving my 100%, the more I strive harder to attain the quality of work that he wants which my previous can't do. He made me stay inside of my comfort zone knowing that I still got more to improve. I noticed that the quality of my work improved versus the quality of my performance from my past team and now I am the top employee for this month. Truly all the hard works pay off. If you reach this part. Thanks for reading my article and I hope you're all doing well. keep safe! ;

@Don26

I'm back! It's been a week and people might think I already quit on writing here but to be honest, adulting really sucks. It demands a lot of time from you that even your personal time will end up being spent with the things that you need to prioritize. It's been a rough week but I am so glad that some of my prayers have been answered. 2020 is not that bad. **MOM'S EYE SURGERY** I am so glad that finally, she had her eye surgery. She can now do the things she loves to do especially watching television. Her doctor limits her from doing strenuous house chores but we're allowing her to do simple tasks to kill her boredom. You don't know how happy I am right now. It's like an early Christmas gift for me and for my mom. Also, 2 years ago, my mom undergoes lung extraction surgery. ( An operation wherein they remove the other lung that has cancer cells ) and she survived from her major operation. a survivor indeed. **I WON ON A CONTEST** Remember my article about how we produce cards in our company. https://read.cash/@Don26/watercolor-artworks-24b9945c They have this annual holiday card design challenge and I am one of the editor's pick. I thought I'm not gonna have any pick for this year but I got 1. ♥ Hope it sells well this holiday :) **VIRTUAL CELEBRATION** Last year, we forgot to celebrate one of my close friend's birthday. So, I planned it ahead this year. We ordered a huge 4ft high teddy bear and a chocolate bouquet for this special friend of ours. I'll attach the exact bear that we ordered. though, I'm a little envy cause I want a bear this big too. haha but I'm glad she likes it. We haven't got the chance to meet ever since the government ordered a lockdown on our country to the borders of the provinces. The last time we got a chance to meet was last January I think. Let's just be thankful that we have this kind of technology where we can still see our friends. I had fun talking to them though I have to leave early cause I still have workloads to do. **COMPANY RANKINGS** I was surprised to know that I am the top 1 employee for this month too. It's been a rough week as I said. I am having breakfast & lunch in front of my laptop just to cover all the workloads that I have every day. I am so depressed in my previous articles but what I learned so far is everything will going to pass. There's always a rainbow after every storm and you just have to enjoy every raindrop. ____ **PS:** To all my sponsors, I understand if you will not continue on your sponsorship. I might not always have the time to write but I'll try my best to continue writing here. Keep safe everyone! ;

My advice to teenagers nowadays Teenage life is very important for everyone. At this stage of our life, we get to realize so many things that we often have lesser knowledge when we are still young. I wanted to start with a little background about my teenage life. I am 25 years old know, a young professional, a corporate slave, dealing with backaches and I have no social life. I guess you quite relate. My teenage years are not as good as some other kids but don't get me wrong, my parent raised me well and they managed to send me to school to have a proper education. I am not happy with my teenage years. I grew up in a poor family yet contented with what we have. When my dad lost his job, that was the start of my struggle as a teenager. My little brother just came out of the world at that time and we don't have enough fund to buy him milk so we have to feed him with rice water also known as am. I am very upset but I don't have the choice cause I'm still young and companies don't allow you to work here unless you're 16 ( w/ authorization from your parents ) I was 13 years old at that time and I already know that my parents are struggling to sustain our living. I always come to school with only 5 pesos ( $0.22 ) dollars in my pocket, sometimes none. It is not a problem unless your teacher asks you to pay for a copy of your test papers. Good thing I have friends who are always there to lend me some cash whenever I'm in need. I told myself I have to finish even high school so I can help my family. Even though at the back of my mind, I still want to go to college as everyone does. Fortunately, our local government gave me a scholarship grant and I passed the initial exam for my chosen course. But they have one rule, you should not have any failing units. Which I failed to comply with. I am not really good at mathematics, I didn't know that information technology has one 2 units with math. To cut the story short, I failed. I was not able to continue my college because of two reasons. 1. I have a failing unit. ( All of my subjects have high scores except for algebra ) 2. We just found out that time that my mom has lung cancer stage 3 and at a very critical stage. Drop out I don't know what to feel at that time. I really want to pursue college but we still need to fund mom's medication. But then, I told myself that it is not yet the end of the world for me. So, I took this chance to apply for fast food crew or even convenience store crew. None of them accepted me and I end up being a washer in a small restaurant nearby. I also worked as an assistant in a market where I lift huge appliances and the manager keeps telling me that I can't make it even just for a day. So, I didn't go back. They humiliated me for a small amount of salary. That time, I am only earning $3 a day. That is too small but at least I can help my family with our daily expenses. My self-esteem was really low at that time. I felt like trash, I am trying to stay positive but the fact that I can no longer continue my education really breaks my heart. I limited myself. My mind was like, " I will never be successful but I should never give up on my dreams. " New Opportunity Someone handed me a flyer, it is a school that offers short courses for multimedia arts. The fee is kinda cheap so I didn't hesitate to try. Before I went to that school, I already have little knowledge about graphic design but since companies want evidence that you really studied about this industry, I grabbed it just for the sake of having certification. To cut the story short, after I finished their 15 weeks of training, I already landed my first job on a corporate set-up. who would've thought that this guy, who was once a dishwasher from a small restaurant is now a trainer and is conducting daily huddles? I manage to work with 100+ design associates, I trained them, I guided them until they know how to do our work on their own. and I was one of the strongest assets of our company. My advice to teenagers nowadays. Don't lose hope. Today might be your hardest battle but all of your hard work will be paid off in time. Don't take your education for granted. Make your parents proud. If destiny doesn't allow you to overcome that, I know there are something much better awaits for you. ***knowledge is something that can never be taken away from you*** Goodnight. ;

4 AM thoughts I woke up early today and I can't go back to sleep anymore. I decided to open read.cash and do some random articles. I started my day having a cup of coffee. I check my emails and found nothing but a bunch of offers from online delivery services. Life is going well so far, even though at some point It's kinda suspicious if everything is going well. lol but let us say that there are times that life is giving us the time to rest from all the challenges that we are facing. The news is just the same every day. The numbers of people being infected with corona are getting doubled day by day. I felt bad for all the people who are forced to go out and make a living even though the virus is still present in our surroundings. People got no choice but to continue with their day job, they all have one goal. To put food to the table. While I am also a victim of this economic recession, I got a home-based job that helps me sustain our daily living. Good for me, but not everyone has given this privilege. One time I was reading my journal. The date is March 2020. It is the start of our nationwide lockdown. I was so worried that time, the roads will be closed for a long time and I'm not gonna see my friends for months. But since I am an introvert, I don't find it hard to stay at home. Eventually, I get used to what they call " new normal ". I may not know what you're going through right now but I'm hoping that you're okay. When I say okay, that doesn't mean you're 100% free from all the strugglings of this life but you're okay because you're not giving up. I know we have a lot of things to set aside for now but never set aside your dreams. We may not fulfill this now but everything will get better soon. Also, I want to mention @SirPotato for being a ray of sunshine for his jokes. keep it up. :) ;
