I read one of the articles from @Hanzell about watercolors last time and I was inspired to share some of my works too.

First, just a few backgrounds about my work. I worked in a company where we create greeting cards for all occasions. It is a California based company funded by Mariam naficy and they also have this community of artists. The name of the company is minted. https://www.minted.com/ you can check this link for a better understanding of what I'm talking about.

Every artist in this community is a professional, but some chose to quit their day jobs to focus on designing cards.

Most of the designs here are created from scratch. We draw, paint, and do watercolors on an actual paper and then scan it for digital print.

| Christmas Leaves

For example, is this leaves, I made it using a watercolor brush. ( I just learned how to use it and I have no regrets so far ) I already tried the traditional watercolor brush but I fell in love with this brush because you can fill it with water. ( Instead of endless dipping lol )

| Digital

Now here is my scanned artwork. Looks kinda different on the actual right? but it will look really cool when printed. For this one, I just used my smartphone and then enhanced the photo on photoshop for better colors and lightings.

| Another set of Leaves

Yes, I am obsessed with leaves haha. I am in love with botanicals. I know this is not that great but I'm just messing around that time, practicing with my new sets of brushes.

and another set of leaves because I'm not yet done. haha For this one, I'm trying to create a Christmas laurel leaves but I'm not satisfied with the outcome so I just keep it. I always end up unsatisfied with my works but it's okay because that is part of the learning process.

| Geode

If you don't know what Geode is, here you go:
Geode - a rock containing a cavity lined with crystals or other mineral matter.

Aside from botanicals, I am also obsessed with geodes. I find them really interesting. Even the artificial ones. You can find some artists on youtube making artificial geodes using resins! Trust me, this is very interesting, and satisfying.

There you go! that is some of my watercolor works. I'll share my vector/digitalized works maybe one of these days, I'll just look for some files that I kept on my folders for a long time. Thank you and hope you enjoy this article!

I really like what you made and it's interesting to hear how these cards are made. To be honest I never expected artists, real creative people are making them (not if I see the cards they sell with us).

Perhaps you like to submit to one of these communities? I think they are happy to have you.

You exaggerated when you said it's not that goog. I bet if you learned how to blend the colors you would be get a lot of attention

Youtube-sensei is the keeyyyyy but then have you ever tried dilutions? Wet brush on wet paper so that the colors blend better? And keep a gradient color wheel with you, it helps

I haven't tried that yet. Though I know you need to wet the paper first but I always forgot to do that. lol

Not necessarily wet but spread water first on the area you want to have a gradient on. Then you can blend on that gradient too
