In another step in the electrification strategy of the range, BMW officially unveiled the iX3, its first electric SUV. The model is based on the X3 with which it shares exterior and interior design. Thus, the X3 is the first BMW model available in all types of propulsion (gasoline, Diesel, plug-in hybrid and electric) .Exclusively made in China in Shenyang, the BMW iX3 debuts a new set of electric motor and battery. In these, the brand claims 30% more density compared to the current i3. This set will also be assembled on the i4, due out next year and already anticipated as a prototype.
Outside, the front grille has been covered, for greater energy efficiency, and there are elements of blue color along the body. The interior is similar to the other BMW X3 versions. Equipped with an 80 kWh battery, with 74 kWh usable, it has a range of 460 km in the WLTP approval cycle. The battery is integrated into the floor and the center of gravity has dropped by 75 mm. The announced consumption is 19.5-18.5 kWh / 100km in WLTP. Charging in a DC socket can be carried out at a maximum power of 150 kW and after 34 minutes of charging it reaches 80% of the charge. The brand announces the traditional 0-100 km / h in 6.8 seconds and a top speed limited to 180 km / h. With the battery mounted on the chassis base, the luggage compartment receives 510 l of capacity, 60 l more than the plug-in and 40 liters less than the petrol and diesel versions. The adaptive suspension is standard to help with road handling, because the total weight of the BMW iX3 reaches 2185 kg. The level of energy regeneration from braking and deceleration can be regulated in three levels, and a B mode forces maximum regeneration. The BMW iX3 is expected to hit the Portuguese market in early 2021, with the Inspiring version having a recommended PVP of 80 000 €. The Impressive version will be priced at € 86,500. Any of them can already be booked in Portugal. Production starts in September, and the first units are expected to reach the national market in January 2021. However, it is now possible to configure it on the German BMW website.
To mark half a century of existence, Range Rover launched the special edition Range Rover Fifty, of which only 1970 units will be marketed, in reference to the year the original Range Rover was launched. The original Premium SUV that defined the sector was launched on June 17, 1970, and has evolved into a family of exclusive, high-performance vehicles. Currently in the fourth generation, the Range Rover has more than one million units sold.
The Range Rover Fifty includes numerous custom exterior details in Auric Atlas and two exclusive 22-inch wheel designs. The logo includes the word "Fifty" with a design by Professor Gerry McGovern, official of the British Order and Creative Director of Land Rover. It is presented on the outside of the vehicle and at different points in the interior, such as on the exclusive central console plate with the inscription. The limited edition will be available with long (LWB) or conventional (SWB) chassis, and customers will be able to select one of four exterior colors: Carpathian Gray, Rossello Red, Aruba and Santorini Black Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations division also offers a very limited number of vehicles Range Rover Fifty in one of the three solid “heritage” exterior colors of the original Range Rover pallet: Tuscan Blue, Bahama Gold and Davos White. The different propulsion options include gasoline, diesel engines and even a plug-in hybrid P400e (PHEV) model, the latter depending on market availability. The prices of the limited edition are not yet known. The model was debuting several functions and innovations, namely permanent all-wheel drive system, ABS anti-lock brakes (1989), electronic traction control (ETC) and electronic and automatic air suspension (1992).
