My thoughts I think The Sandbox has the potential to revolutionize gaming. I still think there is much hype about this lands, i do not see them offering a consistent profit. I tested the land idea in League of Kingdoms, and it is generating 2-3 DAI per month only.

i'm curious too, but i see several ways to monetize...some will not be available for at least a year. i see LAND as an experiment as opposed to an investment...and thx for the tip! =) i can envision about 3 ways to monetize in the near future, and a few more if the platform takes off. this is a long shot, but your land could be turned into a virtual shopping mall for real-world goods, and you could lease space on your land. you could sell billboards to sponsors in your land. your land can become a location for a convention,and you could charge admission...how about hosting a concert? or an NFT art gallery?

Is our responsibility as users and actual bloggers to downvote and report spam (even if it seems a neverending task).

Ah, that's the reason. I'm not hating it. I see it as a source of entertainment and sometimes I make fun of it. For instance, once someone copied a part of my article and I replied: "Great comment. That sounds like I could have written that myself. 😜" To which the person unironically replied "Thank you. 😊" 😁

Yes that's it, or was, today is the activity bonus (which is slightly better). Those persons just want to earn some fast money (perhaps they have hard situation and they don't know how else to earn it) but end up spamming all-around (spam filters are in place yet sometimes seems like they doesn't work).
"We" are on the mission on eradicating them. If you happened to see a lot of downvotes on a comment, you can blame us. Not that we paid by doing that. We are just here to clean this platform and make it more engaging
i plan to buy some LAND...was unable to last time. and please take a look at my response to Heruvim78...i can see a number of possibilities for monetizing LAND, but it may take some time for the devs to implement. regarding the odd comments left by users, i'm OK with them. as we have spoken before, i'm pretty relaxed about most comments that are left for my article. @Monolith is correct...there seems to be a number of users who treat commenting as a source of revenue. personally, i'm not against it because many users come from different socio-ecomonic situations...a few dollars here and there for some of those users can make a big difference to their quality of life in another part of the world. i'm aware that they have fewer earning opportunities in life compared to many people in the western world. if the devs wanted to stop it, they could simply change the system. i don't think it's that hard to do. and that would benefit authors who can get more bot tips for creating content so I'd be OK with that change too.
I am also ok with the odd comments. I regard it as a source of entertainment and every now and then I like to amuse myself in my replies. 😁 But I don't mind. You are correct that it's probably not very hard to end it. For me, it's part of the experience. 😊

unfortunately, this didn't end pleasantly. i still have a bitter taste in my mouth, and the Sandbox devs have admitted it wasn't a fair presale process. i was looking to buy LAND, but was unable to (locked out of my wallet, unable to access map, etc.). a handful of lucky buyers got through before the devs shut it down, and they managed to buy 80% of the LAND. https://medium.com/sandbox-game/land-presale-4-3-fb5f841dc667
