And his second project which is a daily 1/1 duck butt auction has gathered him a ever growing community the fun thing you mightn't know is this project is with his son and now with his latest project called The Duckles I thought I would chat up and see what is behind this new project .

How's things?

Things are good, busy at work. Finally able to take a trip with the family, good to unwind a bit. How about you? How are the kids?

All good kids are crazy as normal wouldn't have it any other way do .do you know the last time we chatted was over 9 months ago how has it been since.

yeah I was just looking over that first interview, crazy so much has changed since then! can't believe we hadn't launched duck butts yet, and now we're at #193...

Oh wow 193 launched and I remember how they started and how it grew into more than just a community and are you still planning to continue launching?

Definitely, duck butts aren't going anywhere. we still have 2 Golden Eggs to drop, working on a few more Fusions. 365 total Duck Butts, so I think that puts the finale sometime in November 2022... but yeah, it's been awesome to see the community that's grown around it, what started as just a silly thing between me and my son...

So tell us about the new project?

Well, Duck Butts was started with my son who's now 9. My daughter, who's now 4, started seeing all the fun we were having and wanted to start drawing her own ducks. But she wanted them smiling and cute and with glitter and sparkles. And since her brother had a project, she needed one of her own. So we came up with The Duckles, a family friendly project designed for kids she also loves story time and listening to stories, so we wanted a storytelling element to it, something she could see and hear at the same time. I wanted to create something that would be fun, and help inspire creativity and curiosity.

Ah so this is will be work with your 4 year old so will this make your own stories or follow a strict pattern?

We've designed it kind of like a tv show with seasons, and each season will have 6-8 episodes. right now season 1 explores the Duckles as they start their adventure. each episode has a different adventure story, and the NFTs that drop are directly related to scenes from the story. we have a whole plot mapped out, character development, story arc etc... with the duck butts there was really no story, this time we're exploring more of a narrative element! but yeah, my 4 year old gives a lot of creative input, and it's a true family project since I convinced my sister to join as well! she does the backgrounds for the NFTs, and some special features like the Art of the Duckles drops for season pass holders etc.

How many NFTs will be in each episode?

Each episode has 20 NFTs. There are 4 Duckles (Duane is the dad, Debbie the mom, Vera is the daughter, and Dylan is the son), so basically 5 NFT "moments" for each character

Ah so each character will have 5 moments and I am guessing each NFT will be tied to a story line?

Yeah, each NFT in the "episode" is a 1/1 tied to a specific scene or moment from that episode. so for example, episode 2 is about to come out, and it's about the Duckles going back in time to a prehistoric era and how they escape. So each NFT will basically show a moment from the story. Not to spoil anything, but Debbie swings across a ravine on a vine in one scene, so one of the NFTs will depict that moment etc.

And how often will each episode NFTs drop?

We drop all 20 at the same time. our plan is to release the story for each episode about 1-2 weeks before the NFTs drop so people have time to read it. We plan on hosting some art competitions and giveaways leading up to the NFT premier for each episode. Our hope is to release one complete episode each month. We have a separate website built just for the Duckles that helps outline what's going on, and there are some fun features like free coloring pages and even a playable arcade game for the kids, here's the site: https://theduckles.family/

When the next coloring competition?

Coloring competition is ongoing, can post any time! The #DucklesDerivative art contest ends 4/3 9PM ET, that's where you draw your own version of a scene from Episode 2.

What kind of game is on the site?

The game on the website is basically pong.

How long are this NFTs taking to create?

These take a bit longer to make, probably a couple of weeks to make all 20. They're quite a bit more detailed .

How many have you released?

So far episode one has been released with the first 20 NFTs, we've released the Episode 2 story already on the website and we're planning on having the premiere for the episode 2 NFTs hopefully end of next week.

I am guessing the long term side of this project would be a tv show?

Certainly wouldn't say no to that! short term thinking more animated shorts, have to get better at animation skills. and maybe more formally writing/drawing their adventures as kids books or a digital book/comic for now though, it's just great seeing my kids interested in art, getting away from the screens, asking to use the iPad to draw their own ducks...

So having the two projects will this put you under pressure creating?

Actually, it's nice because they're two very different types of projects. the duck butts is more like a marathon, creating something every day can be tough, but I'm stubborn and motivated to seeing it through! The Duckles is nice because I can take more time to write the story, then spend time getting the details right on the NFTs. Plus my sister helps with all the backgrounds, so it's nice to have a true artistic "grown up" partner in this one.

Do you follow a schedule for the drops?

Nothing set in stone, trying to get the feel for how long it takes to create since this is just episode 2. But I'm thinking it will be the first Sunday of each month, that seems like a manageable timeline.

How many NFTs at one time will come out?

Each episode has 20 NFTs, we'll release them all at the same time. so at one time, that's twenty of these 1/1 episode "moments".

Oh so they are 1/1s what price are they set at?

$19.95 each. We also have different levels of season passes that give you access to free airdrops, limited edition art, and even some creative input in the episodes
