Back In The Countryside To My Tiny Garden I always wanted to grow a garden at my place where I used to stay back in town proper but it did not seem possible as we lived in a small area in the center of the town. There was a beautiful garden at my friend's place and I wished we had one too every time I saw it. My prayers were soon heard and as we shifted back to the farmland (where my family and relatives live) close to the beach. The yard here is big and the space is wide enough that could be turned into a garden or mini-farm.

As far as I might be concerned, a house garden or a mini-farm is an indispensable piece of the house. This is what I used to see growing up. I have various great memories connected to it and it shapes a significant piece of my life. It is my grandfather (mother's side) who used to have a tremendous plantation and orchard back in the farmland (a part of the land is presently turned into a resident lot of my mom's siblings). He had invested massive amounts of energy in developing the garden and farm and keeping up with it. It was lovely.

Besides beautiful rows of leafy plants and multi-hued flowers, my grandfather has planted many trees and vegetables in his garden. Coconuts, mangoes, bananas, guavas, oranges, lansones (longkang), guyabanos (soursop), jackfruits, sugar apples and many others. Also tomatoes, chilies, eggplants, ladyfingers, sweet potatoes, squash, bitter gourds, string beans are among some of the vegetables that grow in his garden. All these vegetables grow in abundance and as far as I remember, my grandparents often cut and cook them for our meals.

So yesterday, I went to water my yard plants since summer is beginning to attack the region. Stickiness and humidity are rising up and my plants are hungry for water. My yard is loaded with some ordinary house plants and that incorporates a portion of the flowering plants that I will share today. I additionally have a few veggies around, I likely would write something about that next time.

As a matter of fact, my morning begins at my yard with my coffee of course. Chores and stuff and next is my phone. As I awaken, the number one thing I do is to go directly to my plants. It is the most ideal way to start my day. I simply love the embodiment of nature. Here, I additionally practice profound relaxing for around a couple of moments, and afterward watch the different plants around me. The sight is very invigorating. I start with my everyday tasks solely after spending around 30 minutes in my yard.

Let's start. **This is my orange bougainvillea**. I planted this a year ago and now grew as tall as 8 ft. I did not cut nor trim since I first planted it. I want a yard that looks like a forest lol. I only trimmed a couple of its branches when the typhoon last year visited our place and that was it. I also have a couple of varieties like white, pink, red, and fuchsia and they're now starting to show some flowers too.

**Pink Periwinkle** I got the seedlings of these at my mom's a year ago too. I planted some and now they're blooming like crazy. This is also one of my favorite flowers. It has some kind of a stinky bitter smell, but who cares. Isn't she lovely? I also have white, fuchsia and light pink varieties.

**Euphorbia** These kind of flowering plants are very easy to manage as they don't need a lot of water to survive. They are like cactus with their succulent species. The stems are watery like cactus and it has a lot of thorns around it. The one I have here is pale red. The other ones I have are orange-white, orange, peach and pink. They are pretty especially when they all bloom at once. They also bear flowers all year.

**Marigold** This is also one of my favorites. Aside from its happy color, it blooms all year. It is also easy to maintain. I got some seeds from my mom a little less than a year ago and sprinkled them at my yard. After a few weeks, they started to grow and a few weeks more, they started showing some blooms. Some say mosquitos hate marigolds this is why I surrounded my yard with it. I think it is because of its smell? Maybe its a repellant or something. I don't like mosquitos. They're so mean lol. So yeah, marigolds saved me from mosquito bites. A little.

**Orange Shrimp Plant** Yeah, another plant I "budol" from my mom lol. I got a few cuttings and planted at my yard a few months ago during the rainy season. They survived because we had sufficient rain at that time. When I got these, they were very small and dying. Glad they gave me flowers just a few days ago. It does look a shrimp, isn't it?

I got more flowering plants I'd like to post, but I am now tired typing haha. I need to water them again too. I do that twice a day to make sure they survive the heat of the summer season.
