Chapter 4

The Interview

Evan got out of Anna's Car and went inside the construction site

"Where are the interviews being held ? "

he asked one of workers there

"Upstairs in the office on the third floor."

"I'll get going. Thanks for letting me know."

Evan left the construction site and started walking up towards the elevator .When he reached the fourth floor, he saw a sign that said "Interview Room 3". He knocked on the door

"Enter!" the voice from inside called

Evan entered the room and was met with a woman with black hair who looked at him like he was an idiot.

"You're Evan Griffen Aren't you?" she asked as if that was a question

Evan nodded his head and the woman looked at him again.

"My name is Natalie Wilson but please just call me Nat," she said extending her hand to shake his which Evan gladly accepted "We have a few questions for you if you don't mind."

she sat down on the sofa next to where Evan was sitting

Nat smiled at him while he did the same

"So why would someone like you be interested in this kind of job?"

"It pays well. I enjoy it...And it's not hard work I promise," Evan replied smiling

The two continued talking until an employee interrupted them saying "It's time now Ms. Wilson."

Nat sighed "Thank you Ephraim. Evan can you follow me?" she gestured to the man waiting outside the room

They walked outside

"What is your last name, Mr. Griffin?"

"Uh...Griffin,"

"What year do you come from?"

"Uhh..."

"Your mom or dad?"

"I uh-"

Suddenly, Evan felt himself getting lightheaded and he knew it wasn't from all the walking

"Are you okay Mr. Griffin? Would you like something to drink?" Natalie asked still holding on to Evan's arm

Evan shook his head

"Let's get you home Mr. Griffin," she said, offering him her arm.

Evan shook his head . He was sweating so much that sweat formed in the corner of his eyes.

Nat noticed Evan' sweatiness and said "Would you like me to get my car?"

Evan nodded.

Nat looked around for her keys and found them on top of a small stack next to Nat's desk. She took them and handed them to Evan and then pointed to the elevator.

Evan went to the elevator. Before he pressed the button, he looked through the glass separating him and Natalie. It took a few moments before the elevator opened and Natalie stepped on. The doors shut. Evan leaned against the wall. He slid down until his ass hit the ground. He felt dizzy. He covered his face with both of his hands trying to prevent himself from falling asleep.

His breathing became even heavier. He knew that this was because of the fact that he had no sleep in the last few days Nat got him into her car and asked him where he lived .Evan was lightheaded while Nat drove him home .He tried not to think about where he was going and focused on staying awake. He could hear cars honking and the people shouting. The lights were too bright. It hurt Evan's eyes. He closed them. Everything went quiet and everything disappeared into darkness.

Evan slowly woke up looked around he was in his bed . He reached out to his Phone to see 3 texts and then he noticed the time it was 8am in the morning .

"Damn what the heck happened?" Evan said as he got up from his bed to go wash his face .
