Too Young to Suffer anything Permanent

Yesterday, I heard a very devastating. An elder sister to a friend was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She is just 36 years old. Indeed this is really too much for a young person to suffer and emotionally devastating for a lady. I find this very scary! I wouldn't even wish it on my worst enemy because what likely likely awaits her in the nearest future includes Type 1 Diabetes, kidney failure or liver failure.

I also remember reading somewhere that this was the disease that Steve jobs, the founder of iPhone succumbed to in October 2011. He was around 56years old at the time.

Honestly speaking, it is quite alarming the rate which young people fall victim to chronic diseases nowadays.

20 years ago, such chronic diseases are mostly found among a few aged people but today, young folks less than 40 years of age are being diagnosed with heart problems and kidney failure at an unprecedented rate.

Recently, I learnt that a disease such as diabetes could live in a person's body for close to two decades before beginning to manifest clinical symptoms. Cancerous cells could also continue to grow for years before one would be able to notice any outward visible signs.

An elder brother who is a doctor had told me that research have revealed the liver of a handful of young people are already looking like that of a 70 year old because the organ have already been overwhelmed through risk factors like smoking, drinking excessively, obesity and overconsumption of refined sugars( junks). Reason why some youths tend to look older than their actual ages because as the liver grows weaker, one's susceptibility to such chronic diseases increases. The liver is compromised!

Although,a type of diabetes is heriditary but most of other chronic conditions like cancer, kidney damage and liver cirrhosis are mostly due to unhealthy lifestyle and ofcourse, negligence. Routine medical examination is also highly recommended at least once is in a while.

At this point in your life, you should know that your health is it your greatest asset. I mean it is only when you are healthy that you could make enough Money to acquire that nice car, mansion, go on vacation and become popular in social media. It is only when you are alive that you can be able to "live your best life".

Also, in today's world where we have more of unnatural foods and GMOs, it is very important to watch what you eat, how you eat and where you eat! Some of the products ( not food) we eat have been provedln to play a major role in acquiring such chronic ailments when consumed overtime.

I honestly believe that if you can control what goes into your mouth, then you would have successfully succeeded in fixing your health 80 percent, all things being equal.

This is the more reason why young people in their 20s and 30s should insist on prioritising their health over everything else.

Being young doesn't give you an idemnity or let-off to live as freely as you like. Instead, it hands us the previledge of safeguarding our future, most importantly out health and finances.

What more can I say!

Most people feel like because they are young, they have the leverage to do anything they like.

That's quite unfortunate. It's alarming that diseases that were used to happen in old age can now be suffered by younger ones.

You always reminds us about health and what to eat. It's just like how I felt after watching a Korea series that showed the medical field. I became conscious of health.

Thank you for always sharing
