World hunger is already "knocking at the door"

The war in Ukraine could lead to food shortages around the world. Russia's war in Ukraine has already affected people in Asia and Africa.

This unnecessary war could lead to the worst famine since World War II and millions of victims.

India unexpectedly banned the export of wheat, although a few days ago it announced its intention to sell a record amount of grain abroad. This is due to the fact that the harvest will be worse than expected because of the heat and high inflation.

There are about 10 weeks of wheat stocks left in the world.

Because of the coronavirus, severe drought and fighting in Ukraine, food prices around the world have risen by a third and are at record levels. Many countries depend on Russian and Ukrainian agricultural products. The number of hungry people in the world may increase by 8-13 million already in 2022-2023.

I think the results and consequences are already felt by EVERY one of you, how much fuel prices have risen and how prices of products have risen.

In May, global grocery prices reached their highest level on record due to the impact of the conflict in Ukraine on the major grain and vegetable oil markets.

Military activity in the Black Sea region triggered a series of upheavals in major grain and vegetable oil markets.

Leaders of a number of countries earlier warned that due to the disruption of the sowing season in Ukraine and trade restrictions against the Russian Federation, a famine could start in the world!

Food security is also affected by climate change. Sharp increases in the price of staple foods and shortages of supplies have increased pressure on households around the world and are pushing millions more people into poverty.

The global community needs to increase agricultural production and open trade.

Rising food prices have been exacerbated by a sharp rise in the price of natural gas, which is a key element in the production of nitrogen fertilizers. The organizations believe rising fertilizer prices and reduced global supplies will have consequences for global food production.

A one percentage point increase in food prices would send about 10 million people around the world below the poverty line.

The poorest nations, heavily dependent on food imports, would be the first to suffer. But the risks also increase for middle-income countries, where most of the world's poor live.

A Russian invasion of Ukraine could trigger a global food crisis in just a few months that would last for years. Some countries could even face a prolonged famine if Ukraine's exports are not restored to prewar levels. The Russian invasion has forced Ukraine to stop shipments from its peacetime ports, which exported huge amounts of vegetable oil as well as grains such as corn and wheat.

Before the war, Ukraine was considered the breadbasket of the world, exporting 4.5 million tons of agricultural products a month through its ports.

Ukraine's planting campaign also suffered from the Russian invasion, which means "famine is starting to happen" at your door. Exports have collapsed and prices have skyrocketed. More than half a million people are living in hunger, a 500 percent increase over the last 15 years.

The only effective solution to the crisis is to bring Ukrainian-made food and fertilizer produced in Russia and Belarus back to the world market. If this does not happen, world hunger cannot be avoided!

Ukraine after winning the war with Russia will become a powerful and secure state that will get rid of the corruption component and oligarchic influence and will be able to protect its territory and people.

  • Ukraine pays very dearly for freedom, independence and struggle!!!

Our state is waiting for victory, because the Ukrainian people and army have already shown their power and courage.

I don't know where all this will take us, but it's very bad. In addition to being really bad, politicians scare us even more and make panic. Food prices have increased a lot and it is currently impossible to find sugar in my country. We hope for a end to the war because everything that is happening is not humane.

The covid wasn't enough and now a war, the cost of survival of normal people is off charts now. The scarcity of supplies as well as money. I hope and wish this war stops soon. Or else whole world will be affected by it.

Everytime the name Ukraine comes up, I get so emotional cos I feel for the people there and I wonder how they survive. If places without war are having a hard time feeding, how would they cope.
