Rabbits... Those cute and furry friends that we all love. If you've lived in the country you may have had a rabbit or wanted to have one, or maybe you've also eaten rabbit at some point and didn't realize it, maybe you were told it was chicken.... Luckily I have never eaten rabbit and don't want to. *Saturday, February 19* **Why wouldn't I eat rabbit?** Well, looking for pictures of my old pet Luffy, who died recently, I found pictures of other pets I had. Growing up I have always been surrounded by pets, my parents love animals. We have had dogs, cats, fish, morrocoy, chickens, quail and rabbits. So I grew up surrounded by animals. The rabbit was a pet, we never ate it, I'm not saying the other animals were for consumption, just the chickens and quail eggs. I would not eat rabbit because I saw it as a pet since I was little and it was my friend, so out of sentiment I would not eat this animal, the same would be if I had had a pet pig, I would not eat pig meat or any other product derived from it, because I am very sentimental about these things. **How did the rabbit come into my life?** Well, this was a headache for my parents, according to my point of view. At that time I had lost my dog named Chiqui, who was a very cute and intelligent Belgian Shepherd. This dog grew up with me since I was a very little girl, so he was my faithful friend. Losing my pet due to an illness, I had become really sad. Days went by and we went to an animal fair that was in my hometown. I don't really remember everything that was there, I know there was food, games, animals, fish exhibits and many attractive things, but what caught my attention were a lot of beautiful rabbits that were for sale. **My parents have been pet loving people, but they don't buy pets. We usually rescue pets or they arrive as a gift.** At the time I was very little and I had and still have a great love for animals, especially cats, dogs, rabbits, dolphins, penguins, etc, etc, etc. So seeing some beautiful rabbits and that they were for sale made me want one, but my parents said no, they were not going to buy a pet. I remember I was very insistent, but they kept saying no. Until... A friend of my parents came to us and heard me asking and crying for a rabbit, so he decided to buy it for me, my parents were a little upset because they didn't have a really comfortable space in the house to take care of it, but I didn't care much about that, I was very happy because they gave me a rabbit. I chose the smallest and whitest rabbit I saw, it was a small male rabbit, so I named him Chiqui, yes, like my old dog that had just died. The rabbit lessened the pain I felt for the loss of my dog. Despite all the love I had for him, the rabbit lived a large part of his life locked up, as I grew older I realized this, but I was too attached to him to give him to anyone else. Actually the rabbit spent the day running around the yard and at night we kept him in a big cage that my father had made, so he wouldn't escape. **What did the rabbit feed on?** My parents are animal production engineers, so in their college years they learned about how to raise many animals, among those were rabbits, since at the university there was a large piece of land to have a rabbit farm. So my father knew a good way how to feed rabbits, not only with vegetables like carrots or lettuce, he also needed conejina, which is a prepared food for rabbits, guinea pigs, guinea pigs, hamsters. This feed has a combination of ground cereals, oil pastes, wheat, corn, dried grains, rice, barley, vegetable oil, etc, etc. This food is used to fatten the animals for consumption, but it also has a great caloric and energetic contribution, so it is important to give rabbits good amounts of rabbit food. We never got to eat the rabbit, it was a pet and part of the family. He lived with us until he died. Chiqui died very old, compared to the average life span of a rabbit which is 9 years, he was with us for about 11 years. Rabbits are really quiet, clean, intelligent, fluffy and funny animals. They are a great companion for whoever needs it, but their care is really important like any other animal, rabbits are not toys, they are animals that need attention, they can also suffer stress and have respiratory problems. The good thing about my parents is that they know a lot about animals and they do everything possible so that the pets are in good conditions and accompany us for many years, making their life extraordinary. **Curious fact:** Rabbits' teeth do not stop growing during their life, so they have to be filed constantly, but if we do not know how to do this we should go to an expert, because if we do something wrong with their teeth and they break, the teeth are affected, and the rabbit will not be able to bite well. A broken tooth will not continue to grow and because of this fracture can cause some infection. To favor the wear and tear of the teeth in rabbits it is good to give them enough hay and pieces of wood. It is also important that they have a good diet so that their health and the health of their teeth are in good condition. Even though rabbits are very clean animals, the smell of their urine and feces is really strong, so if you want to have a rabbit you must have a good place to keep it, where it can jump, be happy, poop and pee where they can, you must also be very aware of them, because they are really delicate animals, there are many ways to know if the rabbit is cold, stressed or happy. When we left there and on the way to go home, we saw another motorcycle mechanic, we stopped there and told him the same as the previous mechanic, this mechanic was really nice to us and did not charge us for checking the motorcycle, the first thing he told us was that there were some parts of the bike that were assembled wrong, that this has to be fixed, we have to disassemble it and place it well, and to know if the rim and the rubber were bad, first you have to disassemble the complete rubber and check it, that you can not give a diagnosis with the rubber on the motorcycle, but that if the rim looked a little bent, but that it was not so serious as to make the motorcycle jump in the back, that you have to check it, that for everything including maintenance it would be $15, without charging the review because it is free. This kind mechanic convinced us more, since we had previously gone to the other one and he did not tell us that there were parts that were badly assembled. When we got home we talked a lot about the two mechanics, the one who was good and the one who was bad. I talked a lot with Luis and we remembered the first time the first mechanic took care of us, that he added dirty water where the coolant goes and we had brought our own coolant, we also remembered that he asked us to pay him directly and not the cashier, who is the one who gets paid. As I was telling you before, accidents are something that we did not plan, but it is not always a consequence of our actions, that is why it is called "accident". I've been really bad and that's why I haven't written, I was really worried about my pet Luffy, who I had already told you about before, who at the beginning of the year started limping due to a blow he got when he was scared by the fireworks. Luffy had been really bad, so I stopped writing because I was keeping an eye on his recovery. Luffy was fine one day and bad the next and it went from bad to worse for quite a while.... While I tried to continue with my normal life, I kept drawing, taking care of my plants, cooking, writing for myself, things that I didn't publish here because I didn't feel in good conditions to write for read.cash. As I continued my normal life, going out and about, buying food when necessary, it was also necessary to put gas in the motorcycle. At the moment it is a bit complex to get gas in the country. In some gas stations they charge $1 for 2 liters of gasoline in our currency is Bs 5 (what used to be Bs 5,000 or 5,000,000, but because of so many reconversions the currency has changed so much and it looks more "economic"), in other gas stations it is less than Bs 1 or less than $0.2 for the 7 liters of gasoline that our motorcycle gets. **What is the difference?** In the economic gas stations you have to put your fingerprint so that they sell you the liters of gasoline that you have corresponding to the month, but Luis has problems with the fingerprints, he does not get the corresponding liters and they do not read the fingerprints, we have done everything and we can not buy that way, so we always have to buy more expensive gasoline, that is, we spend $3 (Bs 15), instead of spending $0.2 (Bs 1). So lately we have asked for help from my brother-in-law Hernan, since he does have a working footprint and he gets enough gas for the month, but his car is damaged, so he does us the favor of "lending" us his footprint and we buy the gas at the right price, which is 7 liters at $0.2. Luis ended up with an injured foot, but it was not a fracture, it was just bent and swollen, the worst thing that happened to him was that he broke his knee and elbow, at this moment he is feeling better, a week has already passed, Luis has recovered, but he can walk, the motorcycle did not suffer any damage, only some scratches, but it does not affect its operation. Luckily, there were many motorcyclists nearby who blocked the road and helped Luis, in less than 5 minutes Luis was no longer lying on the road, he was safe near an establishment, the motorcyclists helped him with the bike and seeing if anything had been damaged, but being in good working order they started with Luis and accompanied him to my mother-in-law's house, where he was checked and realized what had happened to his arm, knee and leg. When we arrived at the house on Wednesday after Luis felt better, he was on complete bed rest. Now less than less I was in the mood to write in read.cash, it was enough that Luffy was feeling bad and now Luis had had an accident... But that was not the worst of it. It was a week of very bad news, on Thursday my parents call me saying that Luffy woke up dead. Luffy on Wednesday night began to be disoriented and did not coordinate his legs well, he felt bad and did not want to eat, he spent the whole night without wanting to move and on Thursday morning, Luffy was no longer with us. At that time I started to be in college I was living with an aunt, everything fine until there, my aunt is a really great person. But my aunt had grandchildren... And the most normal thing is that grandparents spoil grandchildren without knowing if what they do is really right or wrong. Many times I talked to my aunt about not giving coffee to her granddaughters, but she ignored me, she told me that the girls' parents still gave her coffee..... My aunt makes a really pure coffee and just as she drank her coffee pure, she also gave her granddaughters that coffee like that, what we normally know as espresso coffee. One of her granddaughters at that time was 8 years old and the other was just starting to talk, she would be about 2 years old. It has now been many years since I stopped living with my aunt, but I have talked to her granddaughters and seen them grow up in person. This problem has returned to my head because I have seen how Luis' niece drinks espresso coffee every day being only 6 years old and as I have spent many years with Luis and living with his family, they rarely buy milk, because of its high cost and what they do is only coffee with milk, which the girl also drinks, but the most normal thing is to drink espresso coffee. They don't use the milk for anything else, the girl doesn't drink natural juices because she simply prefers to drink sodas, currently because of her mother's work, she drinks sodas every night around 10pm... Why does she do it? Well, her mom gets soda at work, but she prefers to save it for her daughter, to give her "a snack", **but a soda every day at 10pm besides drinking coffee?** There are many foods that contain caffeine, among these are some sodas, chocolates, energy drinks, ice cream, cakes, tea, medicines, cosmetics, etc, etc, etc. Giving coffee to a child is only increasing the consumption of caffeine, because apparently we only know that coffee has caffeine, but no, there are many foods that contain caffeine. **What are we doing with our children?** This is just an example, I know there are no books for parents, I know there is no exact guide to take care of our children, but I think we should be a little more conscious about what they eat and what we feed them just because it is something normal for us. Education has gotten worse? Hello hello wonderful people of read.cash, sorry for disappearing from read,cash.... But I've been on other things.... As you may know if you have read my previous writings. Luis has two 7 year old nieces and nephews, Isabella and Daron. Lately we have been spending our days at Luis' mother's house, Isabella lives there with her parents. But currently her parents work every day and for a child to grow up without her parents is difficult. His mother works from 5am to 10pm and his father from 2pm to 3am. His grandfather works from 8am until 3pm and if he has any extra gigs, there's no telling what time he'll be home and his grandmother is a seamstress, so she spends all day sitting in front of a sewing machine. So lately I have been helping Isabella with her homework, that's why I have been so absent from read.cash, I spend the day playing with her or tutoring her. At my in-laws' house there is no internet and I arrive too late and tired at night to sit at the laptop to write for read.cash. I know I am not a replacement for her parents, but I try not to make Isabella feel lonely. *Thursday, February 3rd* Spending time with Isabella I have realized that education has gone down in quality, I understand that right now there is a serious illness around the world, but I don't think it is enough to lower the quality of the classes, or the teacher's corrections that much. What worries me the most, is that I don't know if this is in the whole country, in the whole world or just in that school. It's quite a worrying issue that education has declined so much. And it makes me feel bad, because even though I am not currently working in a school giving classes, all the classes I have given I have tried to improve and that the student learns more and more, that there is never any doubt in the class, that the child is without doubt in the content that I have given him. I remember when I was little and in 1st grade I saw classes from 7am to 12pm. I had classes in Spanish, computer, English, sports, math, etc, etc, etc. I learned a lot in school, especially computers which I was so interested in.... I think I saw 5 or 7 subjects. Now... At Isabella's school, they don't teach subjects like computer science or English, and the number of subjects, in my opinion, has decreased. Isabella currently sees classes 2 or 3 days a week. Disaster in the kitchen **It can't be... Why does everything go wrong for me today? Today I tried to make it again, but everything went wrong, so I will tell you everything that happened to me with everything and details Today I had a surprise visit, so we were talking with our friends and I decided to make this delicious snack to share, since all the previous times I had made fantastic cookies. When I was half way through the recipe, my friends left, they had to do other things, so it's ok, I was half way through. I did what I always do, I add 120 grams of butter at room temperature in a bowl, then I mix it so that it is like a cream and I add 100 grams of sugar, I keep mixing until the butter and sugar come together. Then I add ½ lemon and ½ egg to that mixture of sugar and butter, mix well even though it is not going to unite and then I add the remaining ingredients which are 230 grams of flour, 8 grams of baking powder and cinnamon. I integrate all the ingredients well. When all that process is ready, I take it to the fridge so that the mixture is refrigerated and gets a little compact. Ok... The mixture was very liquid, I don't know why, so I added more flour and kept stirring, nothing... Okay, I decided to keep it in the fridge for 15 minutes. I thought about making it into balls as I had done before, but as it was too liquid it was going to be bad... As you know if you read my articles often, I went to spend December 31st with my parents, so I was in Cumaná. When midnight came my neighbors started throwing explosives of all kinds. My parents went out to celebrate and I stayed home with Luis and Luffy. Luffy had gone a little crazy with fear, however he stayed calm by my side, he knew that everything would be fine, but there were people from the family missing in the house, so he would run out from time to time looking for them but he couldn't find them and he would come back to my side. **Everything was really fine, until a few days later....** As the days passed Luffy started limping and complaining, I told my father that I saw a swollen paw. My father checked him, but he didn't find anything, he told me he didn't have a swollen paw, it was his hair. The next day Luffy was still limping, I was sure it was the front paw that was swollen, but my father and Luis said it was the back paw, but it was not swelling, however, my father checked all his paws. He found that the hind leg had a wound, so he started treatment. On the third day, Luffy's hind leg felt fine, but he was still in pain and complaining, unable to put his front leg on the ground. Just the paw that I had said was swollen. My father checked him again and found no fractures, but now the swelling was very noticeable. My parents acted immediately, looking for different methods to reduce the swelling and pain in his paw, and they succeeded. In the evening Luffy was in better condition, but the next morning he was not well. **What had happened?** **Luffy didn't want to move,** I really came to think that Luffy was going to die, he is a pretty old dog, yes, I know that death is normal and that at some point it will come, but I'm not really prepared. I was really sad, I didn't want Luffy to die, so I started looking and calling lots and lots of vets to take Luffy to. We didn't have enough money to take him to the vet and buy him medicine, but we made every sacrifice we could. We didn't know what had happened, we were really worried. Before going to the vet we had already talked to him on the phone, explaining everything that Luffy had been through. When we got the vet, he already knew what the paw was and the medications we had given him, so he asked us, ***"What did Luffy eat today?"*** We answered with all sincerity, but I didn't understand what the food had to do with his paw. The food that day had nothing to do with Luffy's behavior, so he asked us ***"What did Luffy eat yesterday?"*** We hadn't really seen what he ate yesterday, a neighbor gave him the food, but when the vet started telling what dogs shouldn't eat, I remembered the food Luffy had eaten. **Stew... Luffy had eaten stew, dogs cannot eat stew and even less in the delicate state that Luffy was in.** Luffy had recovered a little from the inflammation, but the stew had caused an allergic reaction in his paw, so what we had done to him was useless, it had been made worse by the food, that is to say, at the beginning it had been a blow he had given himself and his paw swelled, when he was recovering Luffy ate something he shouldn't have and it caused an allergic reaction, creating something much worse... The vet injected Luffy to make the swelling go away faster, but that was not the only thing that would help him, we had to buy many treatments for his quick recovery. Luffy really behaved well at the vet, he didn't cry when they gave him the injection, he just went like "ouh", normally, he starts to cry and whine when he knows he is going to be injected, so his behavior was really strange haha Luffy is a very active little dog, but during the pains and after the injection he has been really calm. The worst coffee of the year To bad weather a good coffee; to good weather an excellent coffee. How are you feeling today? I am feeling great... I'm still here updating you with what I have experienced at the beginning of January. This wonderful day of kings, I went for a walk in different places with my mother and Luis. My father had gone to work, but we would meet in a specific place. That moment of meeting in a specific place made me go back to the past, when I went to school, then to the orchestra and when I left I went to a shopping mall called Express Mall. In that place my mother and I would sit and wait for my father to get off work and pick us up to go home together, but before we left we would have a delicious coffee and dessert. Those were wonderful days, but as time went by, more or less since 2017 that place has gotten worse, currently the food part of the mall doesn't work anymore, neither that, nor the toy area, really only the supermarket part works and not very well. It is really sad, but I will always remember the good times where we shared a delicious coffee. Back to the story... We went to a relatively new mall, called Hiper Galerias, in this place we kept walking while waiting for my father. When my father arrived we went to a very nice store, where there are many things imported from China, there I bought my kings gift hahaha, it is a gift that I have wanted for a long time and that will help me a lot when I go back to making desserts, I also bought my own mold to make chocolates, the ones I used to sell chocolate are my father's, he had lent them to me, but now I have my own molds. After all that, when we were a little tired my mother said to eat ice cream, but in the place it was very cold, so I said we'd better have coffee, but my mother wanted ice cream, so we bought an ice cream for her and for the others we bought a coffee. We were looking at the prices in the coffee shop and it didn't seem so expensive, but... The prices were really wrong, so they had to explain it to us well. Ok, fine, that's fine. Luis wanted to try a coffee called Bombón and my dad just wanted a café con leche. The latte was cheaper, so we ordered 3. When we were paying the amount of money was much more than what we had been told, so we cancelled the order, we preferred to order 2 Bombón coffees, which was almost the same in money as the 3 lattes, only we were told that the Bombón coffee cup was much bigger. I've had cold coffee before, but this coffee was not cold, this coffee was meant to be hot. Ok, we paid $4 for 2 coffees that we expected to be hot and delicious, but it was not. The coffee was supposed to have chocolate, espresso, I don't remember what else, chocolate syrup and whipped cream. So in that order, after we paid we heard one person ask another if they knew how to prepare that coffee, from what we understood, they only prepared espresso or latte, they didn't know how to make any other kind of coffee, so they have misleading advertising. All the explanations were "This coffee is prepared with a little bit of milk" or "It is a simple coffee", I think that the people really did not know how to prepare any of the coffees they sold or the person in charge of preparing the coffees for some reason was not there. We ignored this, we waited very patiently for a long time for them to bring a good coffee and unfortunately it was not so... The coffee was cold, but not on purpose, it is a hot coffee, but they let it cool, it did not have the corresponding whipped cream, it had another type of cream, but it tasted strange. The espresso was not rich and the chocolate at the bottom was not tasty either, it was a really horrible coffee. Oh, maybe it looks very nice in the pictures, but the taste was not good and we waited a long time to receive that coffee. I've been studying how they did comics before and how they do them now, I don't want to make mistakes, I want them to have a good denouement and a good ending. **Sailor Moon** is a manga series written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi. The series became very popular for being a group of magical girls fighting against evil. In my opinion, it is one of the first series I saw where all the main characters were women, yes there was a man, but the focus was more on girls with magic. These magical girls use their powers which make her change the appearance of her costume into a sailor uniform, but not only did she do that, this was a visual feature, the Sailor's magic have a link to a star power. These stars are connected to a part of their being that gives them unique elemental powers. They possess two identities, that of being a student and that of being a warrior. The main character in this series is Usagi Tsukin, who is Sailor Moon, she has 4 friends who are the other Sailors: Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Venus. Unlike this series is **Saint Seiya or the Knights of the Zodiac**, which is a series of a group of young warriors, which are called "knights" or "saints". This series is illustrated and written by Masami Kurumada. The main character is Seiya, who wears the armor of Pegasus. These warriors fight alongside the Greek goddess Athena to protect Planet Earth from evil. Each knight uses his energy which is linked to the universe, which is the cosmos, his special fighting techniques and armor are inspired by the constellations. There are several knights such as the bronze knights, the black knights, the knights of the abyss, the silver knights, etc, etc. The characters that develop alongside Seiya are: Shiryu of the Dragon, Hyoga of the Swan, Shun of Andromeda and Ikki of Phoenix. I have watched many series around my life and will continue to watch many more, I really like them and they distract me. I am currently watching two series that are quite long which are One Piece and Naruto. Naruto is divided into two parts, the first part is 220 chapters and the second part is over 500 chapters, I am already on chapter 160 of the second part. One Piece has more than 1000 chapters and has not yet finished the story. Television of my time Hello my dear friends of read.cash, I hope you are well and happy. I'm really not well today, but I don't want to talk about that, I'll just talk about my childhood memories. In my childhood I watched a lot of television, well, what my parents allowed me to watch. I remember watching Courage the Cowardly Dog, as well as animations that my mother used to watch, like Candy Candy, Heidi and Marco. Writing this I also remember watching a TV series called Xena the Warrior Princess. As you know these days I have been with my parents, so I have shared a lot with them, this sharing has also brought back memories, so today I bring you some memories and current things I have been watching. *Tuesday, January 4th* I remember that the show I liked to watch the most was **Dragon Ball**. I liked watching it a lot because my brother was with me. There was a time when we got along very badly, so I would look forward to Dragon Ball time so I could share with him. We would always sit together, sometimes some neighbors would come over and watch Dragon Ball with us, it was a lot of fun. Dragon Ball is a series illustrated and written by Akira Toriyama. It's one of my favorite childhood series. It is about the life of a little warrior named Goku, he is a different race from humans, he is a saiyajin, as time goes by Goku grows and becomes more powerful. In this series there are some spheres which have magical powers, when you gather them all together a dragon comes out that grants wishes, hence the name of the series. In total there are 7 dragon spheres, to identify them each one has different numbers of stars. Many villains go after these spheres to have more power, but our saiyajin protects planet Earth from these villains. Goku used the spheres many times to save humanity and his friends. In other words, this story revolves around Goku's adventures and the development of his life. I think it's one of the few series I've seen where they show the character from child to adult, he even gets married and has a family. They also go through when his two sons grow up. It's quite a developed series in terms of the family that Goku has, how he goes from being totally alone to being surrounded by people who love him. One series that made him have a lot of friends was **Inuyasha.** That series was quite popular so we would always talk about this series. I remember watching it on TV with a friend, she would watch it at my house, she didn't miss a single episode. The chapters on TV were always random, so it was hard to follow the story, until my brother was able to download many episodes on the internet and gave them to me, but they were not complete, anyway that helped me to be able to follow the story. At that time my brother was in college and he was selling records with series. Since we had internet, he would download whatever he was asked for and then he would sell it at the university, to have some more money. Inuyasha is a series written and illustrated by Rumiko Takahasho. This series takes place in the present and ancient times. In the current era we have the main character who is Kagome or translated to Spanish as Aome. As in Dragon Ball, in this series there is a magic sphere, the difference is that this sphere increases the powers of whoever uses it. This series takes place in the life of Kagome being a student in the present time and she has certain powers that make her travel through a magical well that take her to the ancient times where she meets the protagonist Inuyasha, who is a half-demon man. The magic sphere is called Shikon's Pearl, in the first episode Kagome accidentally destroys it, causing it to fragment into a thousand pieces and scatter all over the world. This started Inuyasha and Kagome's adventures searching for the Shikon Pearl fragments all over the world. In these adventures they make new friends and they all have a common enemy which is Naraku, who is also looking for the pearl fragments to become a real monster. This series also develops the life of Kagome, Inuyasha and their friends, from how Kagome went from being a normal student to a magical priestess with healing powers, to where they have children. Currently there is a new series that deals with the children of the main characters of Inuyasha... Now that I am "adult" and I have better internet, I have downloaded all the chapters of Inuyasha, so I already know everything that happened, currently I am watching the series of their children, but I don't like it, it is more current, but the story goes like very fast and they solve everything in one chapter, each chapter is different from the previous one, even though the difference of the years of creation is much and the drawing is better, really the story is not very good according to my opinion. **Thank you my dear follower for having reached the end of my article, I hope you liked it. Family Games Hello my kind and friendly friends of read.cash, welcome once again to one of my articles. Thanks for still being here by my side, reading and updating you on everything I've been doing, these days it's been very hot, the rainy season is coming to an end, so my computer is always at high temperatures, I can't use it very often. But I am very well, I hope you are also well and you are taking care of yourself with all the situations that are happening in the world. *Monday, January 3rd* I have been playing with my family all these days, we have been playing carga la burra, ronda and dominoes. We had many years without playing this kind of games. We used to play scrabble every Sunday after going to church, but now we are all in different places, which are a bit far away, so we stopped playing. This brought back a lot of memories from before, when I played scrabble with my parents and my brother. My mother and brother are very good at scrabble, I think all my brother's skills are from my mother. Oh I lost many times in these games. I am the youngest and those times I had a hard time forming words, my words were really short and with few points. My brother and my mother competed a lot to see who would win, they formed big words with lots of points. Sometimes my grandmother would also participate in these games, it was fun to watch her play. Oh remembering here a little bit, some years ago, in 2018, I played scrabble with Luis, my grandmother and my mom. It was really fun, I don't remember who won, but I do remember I was joking around a lot with my grandma. Now I don't know why these days we don't play scrabble, I think I will say to play next time I go, it's really fun. Now I am really good at forming big words with lots of dots. As I told you these days I have played a lot of carga la burra with my grandmother and Luis. Many of the times I let my grandmother win, I like it when she wins, she looks very happy and she also jokes a lot when she knows she can win, she doesn't get upset when she loses, but it's more fun to see her win. Oh, I've been a little mean too. One of the times I made my grandma carry like 20 cards, sorry grandma, I thought she had those suits, but she didn't, so she had to carry a lot of cards. It was really fun to play with her. For the first time I played dominoes with my uncles. My team was with Luis and we don't know the tricks of dominoes, we just play for fun. My uncles are really big domino fans, they play every afternoon, so we were playing against some professionals. I don't know how it happened, maybe because of inexperience or luck, we were winning, but in the last round they beat us with a lot of points. So we had to retire hahaha, now my cousins would play against my uncles. Watching how they played was how I learned to play better, but we never played dominoes with them again, while they played I played carga la burra with my grandma and Luis. When my cousins lost, my father and one of my cousins played against my uncles. I wanted to play with my father, but I didn't want to make him lose, I'm still a novice. It's fun to share and play with the family, especially with the grandparents, who often have nothing to do, it's great to see them having fun. I only have my maternal grandmother left, so I want her to be happy for the rest of her life. Once I finish it I will get paid. **How did I get this little job?** Well a friend wrote me, she wants me to do this job for her. I have also been drawing on the computer, so my friend asked me if I was doing well, so I sent her some drawings.... **What does my job consist of?** Drawing, just drawing, maybe you will say: "just that?", oh, that would hurt me, it is not so easy to draw, it is just like music, it is an art, it must have study and practice, if we don't practice we don't advance. So my job is to draw, to make different drawings. **Why does she trust me so much?** She and I studied together from pre-school to high school, we graduated together and we are still very good friends. So... Why not work for her? While I'm working I'm practicing. She wants me to make a picture book for her younger brother, you may ask **why not buy one ready?** Well... In December I wanted to give a drawing book to Luis' nephews, but they were all very bad drawings, few pages and I don't know why they were extremely expensive, so we decided to give him something else. I had never done this kind of drawings before, so I think I'm on the right track haha, I'm practicing a lot so she will like it. My friend's boyfriend is a tattoo artist, so he knows how to draw very well, he passed me some ideas of the designs they want, so I've been putting them into practice. The boy is very fond of animals, so the first ideas I was sent and worked on were farm animals. I have also downloaded many images to have other references, I have a whole folder full of drawings and photographs of many animals, I also have many drawings of dinosaurs, lions, I just hope that he likes my drawings. **Maybe you will say: Why doesn't he do it?** Well, there is a big difference, even though he knows how to draw better than me, he doesn't know how to use drawing programs and he doesn't have time right now to start learning, so they have decided that I should do the drawings. At the moment I only have one in digital, the others I have in pencil. My friend wants them in digital so she can print them as many times as she wants, so that's fine. There are 25 drawings in total, I will have them ready soon, the thing is that lately I haven't had the time... New Year's Eve II - Time for Love and Family Hello my beloved read.cash people, here I am updating you once again. I hope you are having a great day. In this second part, I will talk about what I enjoyed most about the 31st and that is sharing with my family. *Saturday, January 1, 2022* I had not traveled to Cumana since my mother's birthday, which was November 25. So it was an idea to travel on December 30 to share with my parents the end of the year. It was really difficult for us to travel before, I wanted to travel on the 27th, but it was not possible, I could not travel on the 28th or 29th, so I did everything possible to travel on the 30th as early as possible and I did it. The return day would be the 4th or 5th, but as it took us a long time to go, we decided to stay more days, so the return to Puerto la Cruz would be January 9th. The dinner on the 31st, that is, the hallacas, the ham bread and the cake would be made the next day, on the 30th we would just rest. On the 31st we were up very early, Luis found something on the internet that he needed to buy, it was for his computer, so we had to go out. When we arrived it was already a little late, the hallacas were almost ready, we only needed to tie them, oh, we missed that, but it's ok... What I regret is not having been able to take the corresponding pictures. When all the hallacas were finished tying my father started to make the ham bread and of course Luis wanted to learn and help him, so between the two of them they made a delicious ham bread. My father made a new and improved recipe, we all loved it. This new recipe he taught Luis, I hope to make it soon haha, the ham bread was really tasty. The difference between the ham breads he has made before is the preparation of the yeast and the resting time, as far as I saw. The time to make this bread was more than 4 hours, so they had to start making the bread early to have it totally ready in the evening and it happened. **It looks really delicious...** Oh, I don't know what happened to me that day, but I totally fell asleep on the couch, I slept all afternoon! I almost welcomed the new year there. Nobody woke me up and I could not wake up, when I woke up everything was ready. My mother and my grandmother had the hallacas ready, Luis and my father made the ham bread and my mother made a delicious chocolate cake, I didn't collaborate in anything, I'm so sorry hahaha So what I could collaborate in was taking the pictures and playing the Christmas music. In the evening, before my mother's family arrived to share with us, we decided to do a family photo shoot that even Luffy (my dog) participated in. Luis and I wore similar sweaters, both sweaters were made by my mother-in-law, she is a seamstress. Luis had bought the fabric in November, but his mother couldn't make the sweater earlier. So we decided to wear the new sweaters by the end of the year. We had a delicious family dinner this year, we ate hallacas, ham bread and a delicious chocolate cake. After dinner we started singing karaoke and dancing until midnight. Like every December 31st we put on a radio station that counts down the seconds until the new year. When the radio said "3, 2, 1 Happy New Year!" everyone in my family started to celebrate and hug each other, wishing each other a better year 2022, full of love and success for everyone, where there is always joy and hope in every home. New Year's Eve - Memories Hello wonderful people of read.cash, how are you feeling today? I hope excellent. Sorry for taking so long to update you, I just got back from traveling and I'm a little tired, I slept a lot haha. *Friday, December 31st* Our New Year's Eve's have always been similar, we make a delicious dinner and share with our family. Years ago, when my father had a car, we used to travel a lot to Puerto la Cruz, since it is very close to Cumaná we visited my father's family a lot. At that time his family lived in Puerto la Cruz. It is normal in my family to spend December together, it can be with my father's family or my mother's family. I had explained this before, if on December 24 we were in Cumaná, on December 31 we would be in Puerto la Cruz; if on December 24 we were in Puerto la Cruz, on December 31 we would be in Cumaná. Every year was the same, we spent December with my father's and mother's family. But one day the car stopped working and it became really difficult for us to repair it, we still have the car, but we have not been able to repair or sell it. So that made us stop traveling to Puerto la Cruz. I started living in Puerto la Cruz before the car stopped working, so my parents traveled to share with me and the family. When we no longer had a car my parents came to Puerto la Cruz from time to time by bus, but it was very complicated. As I'm working with read.cash, I have to take my laptop to my parents' house, but sometimes I'm really afraid that it will be stolen in the street, so I try not to travel a lot, but at least I travel 1 or 2 times a month and on important dates, like birthdays. Despite all these changes we have lived through, we always have time for the family, we always want to be with the family and... **What better time to share than Christmas and New Year's Eve?** These are the dates where we share the most, on December 24 we spend it with Luis' family (my couple), as I have already mentioned in several articles, and on December 31 we spend it with my parents and my mother's family. My father's family has left the country, so it will be really difficult to share with them again. These days are days of much sharing, when the new year arrived we called my brother by video call to greet him and also share with him. My brother is in another country so he spent these holidays working or with his new friends, he can no longer be with the family because we are far away, but we always communicate and share, it is as if he is always by our side. I would like to share Christmas and New Year's with him again. Customs and traditions Hello hello my beloved people of read.cash, how are you spending this beginning of the year? Oh, I've stopped writing again, I've had a bitter few days. Soon I will tell you why... In the meantime I will keep updating you with my December articles. *Thursday, December 30th* I have been thinking about the different traditions that my family, Luis' family and any other Christmas traditions that anyone I know has. So from thinking about the traditions, I started to research... My curiosities began because I wrote to some former students who are from the United States and sent them a message wishing them to spend a happy new year with their families, to share, eat a lot and enjoy a lot with their families.... They told me that they were going to spend their celebrations with friends, not with family.... I was a bit shocked, I didn't know that people from the United States go to bars with friends and that is their way of spending New Year's or spend New Year's at a friend's house, drinking and listening to music... **Note:** Not all Americans are like that... Oh... I would never have imagined spending New Year's like that, it's always with my family or with Luis' family, it seems a little strange to go to a bar with friends at the end of the year... Another American student told me that he spent New Year's Eve with his family, but they went to a restaurant. When it is 12am they say happy new year to all the strangers who are in that restaurant. Every year that I have spent New Year's with my family, we are always together singing, dancing, talking, sharing, eating... Until it is 12am, we say happy new year to each other and then we go out to say happy new year to our neighbors. After going all over the place where we live, we go back to our house to continue enjoying ourselves. Years ago, when things were not so difficult in the country, my parents would buy grapes and we would make the tradition of "las uvas del tiempo", where we would eat 12 grapes before midnight, celebrating the 12 months to come... From what I was researching, this celebration comes from Europe. This tradition had first started in France and then spread to Spain. Since 1894 Spain has used this tradition, years later they modified it, now the tradition is to eat the 12 grapes near the clock of the Puerta del Sol, in Madrid. This tradition spread throughout Spain and then reached Latin America. Now... Another tradition is to wear different color underwear depending on what you want... Yellow underwear is for money and good riches; Red underwear is for love; Green underwear is for good vibes and achieving goals; White underwear is for peace and confidence; Black underwear is for elegance and eroticism; Purple underwear is for connecting with your inner self; Orange underwear is for improving the chance of a good job. I couldn't find the true origin of this colorful tradition.... There is a tradition my family keeps doing to start the year off right. After we say happy new year we run around with suitcases, this ensures lots of new trips in the new year. I haven't really done any of these traditions myself. There is one New Year's Eve tradition that I find really strange and that is having lentils for dinner. All my life I have eaten hallacas at Christmas and New Year's, it is the typical food of these dates. For me lentils are a food that can be eaten any day, hallacas are not... So I find it really strange to have lentils for dinner on December 31. But this symbolizes that the year will come loaded with abundance, wealth and money. This tradition comes from Italy. I also read that in some Latin American countries they have a tradition where they make a doll and then burn it. I have never really seen this. It is said that this tradition symbolizes that you burn all the bad things of the year that is ending and now you will start a new year much better. The countries that celebrate this way are Mexico, Peru and Venezuela, but as I tell you, I have never seen this. Oh, I have seen a girl on the web, she is Korean but she talks about how the customs are in her country and she says that it seems strange to her that we Latin Americans spend these celebrations with our family. December is not only about gifts... Part 2 Good, good and welcome, my beautiful read.cash people, I'm still keeping you up to date. I'll be back to writing a daily article soon, just bear with me. Greetings! *Wednesday, December 29th* We have been very close with Luis' family and my family, I wish we could always be this close, but I guess that is the magic of December. This magic makes us more cheerful, more united and more friendly. But as I said before, December is not only about gifts. It's union, giving, sharing, helping, supporting, loving... https://read.cash/@ArteFM/december-is-not-only-about-gifts-0ccf8f2b **And what could be better than helping those in need?** I am currently part of a foundation dedicated to help children and older adults, who live in populations at social risk. I don't want to "advertise" about it, so I won't put the name of the foundation. We are dedicated to help with all our heart. In December 2020, we were able to bring a Christmas party to the children of a small village. This place is far away from where I live. We were playing in a borrowed house. There were all the children and older adults, who enjoyed a good breakfast made by the kind people of the foundation and spent a nice morning, full of music. Oh, to the children and elderly we gave gifts, among those are candy, food, clothes, toys, medicine, shoes, everything we could get for them. Many people made very nice donations to the foundation. Luis, Luisito, Rosa, Alejandro, my father-in-law and I participated in the musical part. The children were very happy clapping their hands. What made my heart happy the most was to see the older adults dancing and singing the beautiful Christmas songs that we have in my country. **I not only help inside the foundation**, I also do good work outside of it, which has always been non-profit. I do it because I know that there are people or animals in need. In all the places I have moved to there are always many cats around, which are very few people who feed them, so I go around collecting food or money to be able to give a little more food to these little helpless beings. But it is from my food, or what I can buy for them, I don't have or I don't work in a foundation to help them. There are many cats in very bad conditions, but I can't cure them, I would like to be able to take them to the vet, but it will be later, when I have a little more money. Sometimes I think that I would love to have a place where all the kittens are well cared for, but it should be a very big place, so that they can run freely. I would like to give them more care, but for the moment I can only give them affection and some food. The first apartment where I moved in with Luis, there were approximately 6 kittens living in the residence. In the second apartment there were 2 kittens and in this last place where we live there are a lot of kittens. There are so many because lately the cats have been pregnant and have a lot of kittens. I would like to be able to help them more. So I think that December or any other month of the year is to help, support and share with those in need, not everyone can do the same things that we normally do. We have to be good people. I love animals so it makes me a little sad to see some dirty kittens, I wish I could clean them up, from what I know, when kittens are this dirty it's because they are depressed. I would like this kitten to be happier. I named him "Alarm Cat" because he meows so loudly that he sounds all over the place, so we always know where he is. Unexpected Departure III Hello hello, my nice and beautiful people of read.cash. I hope you are doing great today and that your day is very productive. This is the third and last part of my article "Unexpected Exit". *Tuesday, December 28th* Before the concert ended, Luisito and Hernán sat down with us. Since there were not many people, they were not having a lot of work, they had a lot of free time. It was quite strange, because we went on a Friday and normally on those days there are a lot more people in the restaurant. Luisa's friend bought another bucket of beer, so we kept drinking while we sang like crazy all the songs that Rosa's band played. Everything was very good, I just didn't like the late service, the late food and the cold food. I have only been there once, but I had a bad experience, I only hope that the next time I go I won't have so many problems. It looked like a lot of fun to watch the other people racing at high speeds, but I didn't want to, I was too scared. Luis wanted to ride, but we had no more money for the entrance fee for the go-karting, it is $20 for 10 minutes of racing, if I am not mistaken. We had already spent what we were going to spend, it was $10 on the bucket of beer and $16 on the chawarmas, we had spent $26... So we were not going to be able to spend $20 more. **But this is lucky day.** When the concert was over we stayed talking. We were with Luisito, Rosa, Alejandro, Luisa and Hernán. We knew we couldn't ride the go-karts because we didn't have any money, but Hernan let me in to take a picture. I was really scared, I didn't know how to start those vehicles, nor how to drive them, so I was afraid of starting it without wanting to, but that didn't happen, good thing.... When Luis stopped taking pictures of me and we were leaving the track, we saw how several people from the band approached us to get on, so we asked ourselves: **"What's going on?"** It turns out that the band is given complimentary tickets for the go-karting, there are 4 tickets. The drummer didn't use his, he had to leave, so the bass player entered with his girlfriend. Rosa is pregnant so she couldn't get in and Alejandro was watching her, so they wouldn't use their tickets. As Alejandro and Rosa would not use the tickets, they gave the tickets to us... **What a coincidence!** Luis was jumping for joy and I was trembling with fear. Hernan and Luisito work in that part of the restaurant, so they didn't need the tickets and Luisa can ride when she goes there again, she goes there a lot, so since it is difficult for us to go there again, they took advantage and gave us the tickets for Luis to enjoy. I really wanted to, but at the same time I didn't, I was too scared. But everything happened fast and before I knew it, they had put the helmet on me, so... **Let's go racing!** They explained to us how the karting works, it only has accelerator and brake, it doesn't go backwards. I don't know how to drive so I was very careful, I didn't want to crash or be crashed, I didn't want to go fast either, the karting could get out of control. Luis passed by me many times, everyone else was going very fast, I was going slow but sure. I hope you are well and in good health. *Monday, December 27th* As you already know from the title, this is the second part of "My unexpected departure" with Luis and Luisa, where we also met Rosa, Luisito, Alejandro and Hernán. I hope not to create confusion... **I continue with the story from the previous article...** We were talking a lot with Rosa and Luisito (my brother-in-law). Luisito and Hernan work near where the stage was where Rosa was going to perform. Rosa is in the same band as Alejandro (her husband). Rosa sings and Alejandro plays electric guitar. That day it took them a long time to start playing because the sound person had left. The sound person helped them at the beginning, but before the concert he left, so the musicians had to wait for the sound man to return. But thanks to this setback, Luisa didn't miss any song, if they had started on time Luisa would have missed the first part of the concert. Luisa arrived two hours later and during all that time we were waiting for a waiter to serve us and nobody paid any attention to us. I was a bit annoyed, the waiters were serving other tables except ours, so that made me feel really bad, but I wanted to enjoy myself, so after a while I didn't give it any importance. When Luisa arrived she had to complain that we had been waiting for a while and no one was serving us. The first thing we ordered was a tobo of beers, in this place it costs $10. It is a little expensive, there are 12 beers, there are other places where there are 14 beers for $8, but it's ok, we went to enjoy and see Rosa. One beer after another beer, how delicious they were. We had a long time without drinking, so we were enjoying the good music that Rosa and Alejandro make, drinking and sharing. In that place they sell pizza, sushi, milkshakes, meringues, ice cream, cocktails, hamburgers, grills, chawarmas and broaster chicken. The cheapest of all were the chawarmas, so we ordered 3. One for Luisa, one for Luis and one for me. Mine was with fries, it was $6, without fries it was $5. So in total it was $16 just for chawarmas. We really enjoyed the music, but we were still a little queasy, they still hadn't brought the meals. The service took a long time and the meals arrived cold, however the food was tasty. I loved the chawarma, even though the food was cold and it took a while. There weren't many people in the place, so maybe there were too few employees, but hey, it passed. It just made me feel bad that everything was expensive and they were slow to serve. So if I go there again, I will dine well at home first. Whatever song the public asked for, Rosa's group sang it. Unexpected Departure Hello Hello, my dear readers, how have you been today? Oh, I have not been able to post, and you know the reasons, so I have been updating you little by little. I want to keep writing often on read.cash, so please be patient, where I live there are some glitches. *Sunday, December 26th* My brothers-in-law have several months working at a new place. A restaurant unlike any other, in this state there is no other place like it, it is unique. It is very far away and in a quite remote place, it is close to the airport. Normally we only use the motorcycle to go to work in nearby places, we don't go that far, so going to that place was impossible, we didn't go out at night. We live in Puerto la Cruz, but we don't go out there much, we go to places a bit safer, so going to Barcelona by motorcycle, seems very risky to us, but many coincidences happened and we were able to go to the new place where my brothers in law work. I don't know if you want to call it luck or coincidence, but I'll tell you the whole story hahaha. My sister-in-law Luisa used to work at that place and made a lot of friends, from time to time they call her to go and enjoy, so we are hoping to go one day with her, but it was a little difficult. I found out that Rosa's musical group, my other sister-in-law, was going to play there. We haven't seen a concert by Rosa in a while, so this coincidence was perfect. I started to joke with Luis that I wanted to go, I really wanted to go, but we couldn't, we didn't know how much a cab would cost or what the place was really like... However, Luis called Luisa on the phone, telling her that we wanted to go and if she had a friend who could take us. **What was the idea?** To go to Luisa's house by motorcycle and leave the motorcycle there, and her friend would take us to the place. The long awaited day... Hello my beautiful and kind read.cash person. How are you feeling today? Welcome once again to one of my articles, thank you for all the support you always give me, I am happy that you take a little of your time and read my articles. *Saturday, December 25th* After many hours of playing and singing with Luis' family parranda, it was time for the presents and... How were we going to put the presents on the tree if the kids were waiting? We had put all the presents in a room that we locked, so anyone who had the key could enter and put them, but the children this year were very attentive, so they didn't let us, we had to look for other alternatives. As children get older they become much more aware of everything, nothing escapes their hands, they are curious, so it was complicated to put the gifts with them around. We were all on the porch side of the house, but very close to the door. From where we were sitting we could see the Christmas tree, so it made it even harder for us to put the presents up, either way the kids would see us, it would ruin the magic. So someone thought of making a game where we would blindfold ourselves. We all put blindfolds on, even the children, but then we adults took the blindfolds off. To the rhythm of the chant and the cuatro we went singing to a room that had the lights off. My sisters-in-law and I stayed in the living room placing the presents, then we turned off the lights and went to the room to continue singing. When the alarm went off that the kids set for 12am, we walked in the dark to the Christmas tree. The children still had their eyes covered with blindfolds, when they took off the blindfolds they saw a lot of presents around the tree. Their joy was shocking, there were many shouts of joy. But it all got better when they opened the presents, excitement poured out of their little bodies. Daron and Isabella were jumping for joy because of all the presents they had, they said that Santa had brought everything they wanted. They were also very happy because Santa Claus had written to them, it was very funny to hear them read the letters and say "Hohoho Merry Christmas". The adults were also happy, they were expecting presents and they got lots of presents, to them Santa Claus also wrote. They were all happy with their gifts, they were unexpected and it was very funny to see their faces reading the letters from Santa Claus. I spent a lot of time and love writing each letter, I wanted everyone to be happy, they were all good kids so they deserved their letter. I also received a letter, but this one was not written by me, Luis wrote it. Earlier I had told you about Luis' gifts, but I never mentioned his gift, since it was a surprise. I gave him a sweater with the name of his favorite band MUSE on it. Luis couldn't believe it, many tears of joy came out of his eyes. Luis also gave me a surprise gift, a beautiful sweater he made with his mother. My mother-in-law is a seamstress, so it's normal to see her sewing on the machine, especially at Christmas, it's the time when she has more orders, so it didn't seem strange to see Luis and my mother-in-law talking about sewing, it turns out they were planning to make me a sweater with fabric Luis had bought behind my back.
