Frugal vs cheap.
In this world, there are two types of people who have various ways of accomplishing things, such as spending money and so on.
Let's take a look at the two types of people we have without further ado;
Frugal
Care about value.
Spend money wisely.
Focus on long term value.
Cheap
Care about price.
Unwilling to spend money.
Focus on short term cost.
Let me break them down for you one by one for a better understanding; I'll start with the frugal kind of people.
Frugal.
Care about value:Yes, they worry about the value of things without pricing them because they focus on the long term value of things rather than the short term value of things, thus they spend more money to get valuable items that will last.
Spend money wisely:Yes, they spend money wisely by purchasing items that will endure rather than items that are cheap and will not last long, therefore they are more likely to spend money wisely than those who are cheap.
Focus on long term value:Yes, they consider the long-term value of the items they buy rather than the short-term value that won't last long and will cause them to spend more money.
Cheap.
Care about price:They are more concerned with the price of an item than with its value, which make them to spend more than they intended because they are looking for inexpensive items that will not last long.
Unwilling to spend money:This is related to the previous point; they prefer to cut corners in order to acquire products that are less expensive, but they never take the time to consider the value they will receive.
Focus on short term cost:Their focus is on buying low-cost items that won't last long since they only need anything to serve them for a short time; they never realize they need to focus on long-term value so they don't have to pay additional money to replace what they already have.
This two types of people can be seen on a daily basis. I have a friend who is a cheapskate; he buys low-cost items without considering their long-term value. E.g He bought a $4 cloth and didn't look at the quality, so after a few days of wearing it, the cloth started fading off and he wasn't happy with it, so he had to buy another one, which was a waste of money. He should have bought the quality one, which was $7, but now he had to buy the quality one after wasting money on the cheap one.
When buying items, try to think about the quality and long-term value so we don't have to spend money on a specific item we've already purchased, which would mean spending more money; instead, it's ideal to buy a quality item that will last for a long time and save us money.
Choose which of the two categories you belong to and tell me in the comments area; I'd love to hear from you.
In conclusion.
Spend money wisely because money is hard to get. It's great to choose frugal people because they spend money wisely to buy goods that will endure for a long time rather than a short time, allowing them to save and plan ahead.
Hopefully, you will pick the type of person you want to be. Don't be like the cheap individuals who spend more money on cheap things that won't last long; instead, choose to be like the frugal people who value quality over quantity.
