Love Stories... or Not
Today is a love story of a young man, hard to say if he's been unlucky or finding the right thing at the wrong time what does this story tell?
Tolu was his first highschool love, well you can't really love since they were young. But is it impossible to fall in love at such a young age? Everyone referred to them as husband and wife, he would even visit her on weekends so they could spend time together. He would go to her mother's shop at the market and played with her and her siblings. Should her mother send her a quick errand home, he would follow her home just so they could be alone together. It was an innocent affection unsullied by lust and sexual desire. When it was time for senior highschool, she was transferred to another school and that left him alone with his feelings which metamorphosed into the fond affection you'd feel for a friend. Time wasn't kind to his feelings, but time isn't kind to anything at all.
Peace was his senior highschool love, or so he thought. It would seem she only agreed to be his girlfriend so he could help her forget her last love. Oh she was a damsel, his damsel in distress. Her cleanliness was probably what he liked most about her. Her friends used to say they were a perfect fit. The very fact that they will definitely be among the top 10 neatest students in the entire school was something they at least shared in common. That wasn't the only thing they shared though, they shared a kiss too among other things. It was his first kiss, he would be delusional to think it was her first kiss. Highschool was over and so was the relationship they shared, it seemed like what was for the time being. Last he heard, she was a mother, a child born out of wedlock. He still had a soft spot for her, as she was the first person he exchanged saliva with.
Rita was his third love, she was the kind of girl that makes neck turn when she is in sight. He was her first, rest assured that it wasn't the same with her, again. The relationship was short-lived, that has always been the case with his relationships. You would think third time is the charm, but that wasn't the case. They had gone on a date a day before she broke his heart into a million pieces. Well, that is an overstatement but whether it was a million pieces or two uneven pieces, it was still heartbreak. He would later found out that she already had eyes for another and that was why she ended the relationship. At least she was decent enough not to cheat on both guys by dating the both of them.
Ngozi was next, after almost a year of healing and enjoying the single life. They had started as friends and decided to give it a shot when she confessed that she had a crush on him. He was skeptical, but he knew it was only a matter of time before he was head over heels in love with her, a gamble, but did it pay off? Things happened and he gained admission into the university, that would take him away from her and change their relationship into what one might call a long distance relationship. Communication declined because he had less time on his hand. Months passed and it would seem she had had enough of the sour taste that is now the relationship, distance wasn't helping too. Nothing was helping. For him, distance made his heart grew fonder, he was truly in love with her and was serious about the relationship since he saw her as someone he could spend the rest of his life with. Unfortunately, she didn't share his sentiment, she felt the odds were not in their favour and since they were age mates, it was unlikely as age doesn't move the same for males and female. He was of the impression love knows no bounds, but it would seem that she strongly disagrees. There it was, another end to another relationship and another heartbreak. He had thought this was the last straw, was he right?
Anna came, she was his classmate and although their relationship had started as friendship, there was a special connection, safe to say he had never felt such a connection with any of the other before. The twist here is that Anna wasn't the only one, There was Phoebe too. It was a classic case of mind in one place and heart in another. He was in constant conflict of making a choice, an important one yet. Who does he choose? The one he loves or the one who loves him? Surely everyone has a choice they'll make should they be in that situation. But he made his choice though, for the very fact that he could see that being torn between two places has made him nowhere at all. To make anyone happy at all, you have to be somewhere. What is worse than unrequited love? Would he rather be the one who causes pain or the one who endures pain?
Your guess is as good as mine.
@Tomi-Ajax I have bestowed on you the task to sieve out what is from what isn't.

Just Reading this, that young has had a lot experience and dealing with the opposite gender. Now he doesn't know who to choose. That's a big problem.
