Benguet State University's Farming System and Agroforestry
I don't want to go into details about the facility of the state university that we have here or what they do. We just went for a quick morning walk around there.
Note that all photos are mine.
Our plan was to go to Camp Ragsak (Happy/Joy) but when we got there it was close. We used to take this road whenever we go to the communal forest. However, it is now a private property and the main entrance to the communal forest is at the other side of the mountain.
BSU Farming System and Agroforesty is located at Bektye, Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet.
On our way to Camp Ragsak, we passed by this one.
These are tombs of someone's departed. It has been a custom that the dead loved ones are buried in the yards of the family.
Since the camp is closed, we then explored a road that we haven't been to before.
There were already houses along the road but after that, nothing but just trees which is good. It is not obvious here but the incline is steeper just like most of the roads here in the mountains. It was pleasant to walk here for all you can hear is nature.
It was a gloomy weather so we took that opportunity to go out for a walk. This is the first long walk we had this month.
It wasn't long before we came to the end of the road which exits to the main road.
Passed by one of the schools and was pleased to see these paintings on the school's wall.
This one is my favorite so far. I feel that these paintings were done in a rush though.
We have now arrived at BSU. This is one of the properties of the university. This is my first time to enter here. There was nobody at the guard house when we entered but we still did go and explored the place a bit.
There is a pond but I don't see anything alive in there.
Aside from other trees like citrus, coffee is the main plant that we saw there. This place is also a research facility for coffee.
We walked among the coffee plants and just followed the path until we arrived at a place where there were animals like turkey and chicken. I don't know what other animals were there but those were the only ones I saw.
Can you see the native pig here standing on two feet?
There were other plants there that we saw but I can't name them all. The coffee are the dominant ones though.
Even these moss and lichens and wild orchid did not escape my camera.
When we exited the place, we headed to on of the restaurants nearby. There are a lot of places to eat there which is surprising but even though they are far from the town, a lot of people still frequent them.
I'll talk about the restaurant we went to on my next blog.
Anyway, mukhang enjoy kayo jan Kuya ah, iba talaga pag agriculturist.❤❤
