So guys how has it been with you all?
It seems time is by my side a little bit today and I don't wanna abuse it by just lying in bed and brooding over the past, No! That's not my spirit, Never!
It wasn't really a big deal that we lost in our match yesterday, I mean there will always be another chance so let's cheer up and move on😉✅
Today is yet another beautiful day and I bless the name of God for making us fortunate to witness such a day like this. I wouldn't misuse such a great privilege and chance to be here. Thank you Lord for today!

So, so, so. What are we up to today?
Okay, I know it's really been a while I drew. Like I have said this over and over again, and it is almost becoming a habit and yeah I know I don't have all the time in the world to do draw again like I used to but it's okay.
I mean every artist or anyone that scribbles one or two things on their paper or Ipad knows how tedious artwork is. Some can take you the whole day to get a perfect piece, some a good number of hours, and some even days depending on the taste you wanna give the work.
At the moment, I have a lot on my plate, and being able to manage all my blogging accounts and still have the time to make sketches or draw is what I don't find very easy to do even if I wanted to.

But I do know that that is not even an excuse because one creates time for what he or she loves doing and if I love drawing then I should, by all means, squeeze out time for it, but what can I say? I am a lazy being, yes I will say that again, sometimes I am just lazy to do most things but it doesn't mean that I don't know what I should do and when to do them (don't give me that looks and don't get me wrong 🙄😄)

So today why am I saying this? Or bringing it up? Well, that is because queen mother ☺ @FarmGirl  shared some artworks from her niece. And when I told her I draw too but it had really been a while, she asked to see some of my artworks.
I told her I wasn't gonna make new ones rather that I will share with her the old ones I made right from when I started digital sketches to date.
I may not be able to share them all in a single article because they are much but I will share a few and I will start from scratch when my digital artwork usually looked too flat because I didn't master most of my brush, the tools, and know it functions lol. I am not ashamed because my sketches got better with time as I kept practicing and drawing more.

So pardon me if you don't find them appealing or astounding hahahahha, I know you will find the recent ones I made cute but mind you I won't share that today😀😅 I am saving the best for the last lol.
So dear queen mother, hang in there while I take you on a tour of my digital art journey, and of course, every other person that would love to take this tour with us lol, shall we?

My First Human Model

You see this is my very first digital sketch of a portrait. When I started making digital sketches, I usually tried landscapes, animals, and the rest but I never tried sketching human beings.
But one afternoon, I decided to sketch a reference photo in my gallery.

This is a photo of one of my high schoolmates. I just liked the photo because she was looking like a model in it, so I decided to sketch it, and trust me, I didn't even imagine it coming out this way, I envisioned it to be worst than this but I guess reverse was the case. I mean tried being that it was my first even though it was too flat with fine lines showing all over (pardon me, I never knew this when I started lol)

After spending over 7 hours on this, I decided to post it on my WhatsApp status to see if the girl will recognize the photo lol.
Funnily enough, she commented and said she was confused because she was just wondering and was like This looks like me, isn't that me?😄🤣 and again she said; No this is me, I mean that pendant is mine and it is one of a kind, no other person has it other than me😅😂

I had a good time laughing at the young girl for being confused about what I made out of her😄 yes I was worried that the sketch looked awful but she told me it wasn't that bad but that it was nice and that she really loved it.
Guess what? She reposted it on her status, she even posted the step by step procedures just like she saw it on my status 😂
You know the joy of being able to satisfy a person? This is what I felt and since then, I took it upon myself to fish out every nice portrait of either friends or family I found in my gallery and try to sketch them.
Her words inspired me to keep making portrait sketches and strive to improve each day.

My Second Trial

Yeah, I already said that after my first remarks and encouraging feedback, I went hunting for more portraits to sketch.
I found this girl also in my gallery, I saved her photo in my phone somewhere because the girl was just too cute.
I couldn't resist the urge to draw her even when I knew it was going to be a lot of work for me.
I mean finishing with her work took me 8 hours stretch. But doesn't it worth it? I am sure it does because for me she did turn out to be cute and better than I imagined lol.

I couldn't resist sharing a few steps and process of this particular sketch and that it because it was one of my best work then when I started my digital sketches of human portraits that's why I did find every step very appealing and cute lol so I just had to save them and not delete them from my gallery, unlike others that I only keep the final work after making them and posting lol, so please permit me to share a few processes of this work.

Can you agree with me that each step turned out good especially her hair? I mean just like queen mother's niece, I have a thing for hair too🤭

My First Couple Sketch

I can't remember the exact hours this took me but just looking at the work you bet it took quite a lot of hours to finish lol.

Trust me these two are such a cute and perfect match. I couldn't stop myself from drawing them lol.
The girl is my friend's elder sister and she became my friend too when I first visited their home.
She is so friendly and free-spirited and I liked her spirit the first day I met her, she got good vibes and she seems to be always elated about life and that's great you know?.
She got married in 2019 if I am not mistaken and I was a part of that blissful union and I bless God for their family and home.
They are way cuter than what my art is portraying here😂 so, please pardon me because I only started making digital sketches then so I wasn't so good with them lol.

My First Anime

After making a few portraits, I decided to try animes. I mean I had always admired those animes and cartoons so I tried making one out of the few I found in my gallery.
I will say it was easy but not so easy too lol.
Yes, anime is a bit easy to sketch and blend since they are already always looking flat with fine lines most time, unlike human portraits.

I am sure this didn't take me more than 5 hours or even less to finish. I got good feedback on this too. And I was told that I did well for my first Anime, (tell me about it)🤭😂☺😅 of course, I went hunting for more and sketching more animes lol.

My Second Anime

Please who doesn't know belle in beauty and the beast? if you don't, please kindly raise your hands🤣🤣😂
Well, I believe out of 100%, 80% should know this character in the animation or even movie/TV series titled Beauty and the Beast.

You see how it has a striking resemblance? If care isn't taken, one might think I didn't make this sketch🤣 I even looked at it myself and I was like Wow I am so damn good 🤣 don't give me that looks, sometimes self-appreciation is good too so I wouldn't take that back lol. But you can be the judge of this too. Isn't it good? Don't lie here o😅😂

My Third Anime

And there goes my adorable Cinderella. This one everyone should know. If anyone here doesn't know Cinderella then I don't know what to call such a person😄
Everyone knows Cinderella and a good number of girls loves her but not because she lived like a slave in her father's house but because of her beauty and of course the magical transformation that took place and yes, her prince charming too lol.
In the end, she recovered everything she lost to her wicked stepmother ad step-siblings.

Improved Portrait

And this will be my last for today. Can you attest to the improvement in this portrait? If you haven't then tried going back to the first few portraits I shared above and compare them to this one then you will know that there are noticeable changes and improvements in the sketch lol.
Yes, this does look more like a human being and the toning, shadow shading, and highlights are a bit visible while the first ones had no such. No shadow shading! No highlights and No toning! either.
And also, the fine lines aren't seen or visible here. The fine lines aren't visible because, as time went on I learned so many features and how to use my tools and brushes well.

This was a gift to a friend on her birthday. She is one of the amazing people uptrennd (a once-existed platform) gave to me.
I thought of what to gift her on her birthday and make her smile and guess what? This was the perfect gift I could give to her.
She really really really did love it and she kept complimenting it lol🤭 and she is one of the few persons that kept encouraging me to keep drawing because she thought I was good. You will like her if you meet her lol. And I use this opportunity to thank her again for always believing in me and always and I mean always complimenting my works😉

She isn't the last portrait and not the best either, her portrait is among the best portraits I have made so far but for today and for this article, she is the best🤭😉
