Grinding as a full time mother and a part time grade schooler Hello beautiful humans! It's Sunday now and I am supposed to be resting and have myself a me time but knowing that tomorrow is Monday, reminds me that short vacation is over. Well actually ever since the online classes resume this 2022 the kids had only spent two weeks synchronous classes. They spent two weeks vacation (academic break and the mid year break). A week before they had the mid year break, their has been a memo from the school that there would be no online classes thus the kids will be on modular mode. Also starting January, I haven't been to school to get a hard copy of their modules. It was also the protocols of the school because of the massive virus cases when in the early weeks of January. The teachers only sent the soft copy lessons for each week. I have two grade schoolers right now, my eldest is grade 6 and the youngest is grade 4. Eversince they started getting to school I have been hands on whenever it's time for their quarterly examination. I would make some test paper and then let them answer it and after that we will have some questions and answers regarding their lessons. That was always been the case. I didn't have a hard time because I have a lot of time to do it since quarterly exams only happens 4 times in school year. And being a full time mother I have all the time to focused on these. Hard work pays off whenever they got high grades on their examinations. Little did I know, things would changed drastically. Suddenly the kids routine when studying is a whole lot quite different back when they were at school. Honestly, base on my experience I really had a hard time coping up with this kind modality. Like every week they needed to pass an answer sheets for every subject without being taught the right way. I was very disappointed last year, because I let my son answers his modules alone and when I checked his grade I was shocked. I am not expecting a higher grade because that time everyone was adapting to the new normal and my kids were a transferee, so I actually expecting a lower grade but I really believe my son's doesn't deserve much lower grade that the subject teacher graded him. I talked to my son's adviser regarding it. The reason was that the teacher who gave that grade wasn't even active on online classes so how would she justified giving my son's such grade. Later on I found out that students usually on lower sections received that kind of grades because they focused more on the higher sections. And since my son is a tranferee he wasn't properly evaluated because of pandemic thus he was sent to that sections. There was nothing I can do about it because I don't want more arguments so I leave it. Because of that incident, I helped my boys in doing their activities. My eldest can work on his worksheets alone except for hard subjects like Mathematics. At first I can handle it well but as time goes by the lessons were getting harder. So most of the the time Iooked at the net for the right formula on how I can solve each problem, just like right now, my eldest son's topic on Mathematics was about percentage, rate and base. It was like I am back at studying in grade school, I can't remember though, if this lessons were taught to us back then. Same goes with my other son who is in 4th grade. Their lessons are quite hard and the teacher can teach them well unlike us parents or guardians. I feel sorry for those students who don't have a parents to guide them because they need to work. Next week there might be a submission of answer sheets for the whole 2nd quarter, so this day I checked out if my sons are done with it. It was mind blowing friends literally because my mind wanted to explode because of all the informations and lessons that I have to study so that I can teach it to my kids. I am glad this year, all of their summative tests were via google form. It was the easiest way than transferring the answer in a piece of paper and submit it to school. With all honesty I am getting tired of this routine. Not to mention I have to do the household routines inside our home. Do the market, groceries and all. I am sure the kids are having a hard time too, they are getting bored of having lessons via online. If they were to decide they would probably choose the in persons classes. But for the sake of health protocols we have to abide with implementations of education department. To all parents, guardians, teachers and students just a little more patience and we'll get over with it. Let's claim that in the next academic school year face to face would be implemented so that students can finally learn the lessons in school and so that us, parents and guardians can now also find our peace of mind. Thank you hearing my rant for today. Happy Sunday to all. Lead image from Unsplash.com

Okay lang siguro kung ang parents ay may knowledge sa internet and know how to access, but how about those walang kaalam-alam talaga.
Exactly sis, kawawa talaga.
Kaya go na ako sa in persons classes.
The new modality of teaching nowadays is not helpful to students especially childrens who doesn't have a guardian who'll help and guide them. Truly unfortunate.
True that. I feel sorry for them because it isn't their fault that their parents need to work for a living. Youtube videos and other lessons from the tv doesn't help at all.
Hoping things become normal so students can have their face to face interaction with their teacher, just try to keep up with them and help them till everything becomes normal.
Yes my friend. I think I can still manage until this academic year ends, but I hope next time they switch to face to face already.
Hahaha! True, ay naku kawawa mga bata parang walang natutunan for the past two years.
Kaya nga, buti kung lahat kaya i guide or ikuha ng tutor
Ndi nila naiintindhan ung sitwasyon ano sis
Sobrang busy mo naman sis. Laban lang sis ganyan si mama ko ng maliliit pa kami sis, for the future. Wag mo kalimutan heath mo din. Rest ka din minsan kasi mahalaga yan. May grade 6 ka na pala sis. Grabe talaga yung mga modules. Same ng kapatid ko.
Yan yung kinakalungkot ko sis, kasi di lahat ng bata natututkan ng magulang sa pagtuturo kaya mas better talaga ang face to face class. kawawa mga bata kapag wala ang teacher. both teacher and students have a hard time pati magulang. Kaso may iba teacher din talaga na iwan, same goes with students also. Lahat talaga may factor ngayong pandemya.
You are right sis, sometimes may mga lessons na out of this world like di naituro dati when I was their age. They seem to have challenges grasping on what the appropriate lessons are needed to be given to every grade level.
What's more kapag nasundan pa. Kahirap tlga.
