Feel your fear and do it anyway
Have you ever felt fear to try out new things in this lifetime? Of course I know your answer is yes.
We all have fear most specially when it will be the first time to try it. Take for example the kids who are going to school for the first time. I witness myself how my youngest son was scared to be left with his teacher during his first time at nursery. So to assure him I am not leaving, I stayed outside the school for the whole duration of class. Well that was only for two hours. He was eventually looking outside to see me. It goes for another days, until he got used to it and later on was okay with his new surrounding.
As you can see, fear is an emotion or a feeling that something bad is going to happen or someone is dangerous that may cause trouble or pain. I thought of writing this article because my husband is acting weird again as if it is his first time going out of the country. He was always like that and the separation anxiety is real during the first month of his contract. His fear this time gets stronger because he doesn't knew someone from his new assigned ship. It started because he flew all alone and it was the first time that happened to him. Usually when he reached the airport there would be at least someone that has the same flight with him. Honestly I am used to it for many years, so I always told him positive words that can somehow give him an assurance that everything is gonna be allright in the end.
These are some of my reminders to him that I hope can give him strength for the next 7 months.
Feel your fears and do it anyway
You can never escape your fear and the best thing you can do is face it no matter what. Running away from it is an act of cowardness. And in this world we all knew that being a coward is something only a loser can do. We should all have the strength to overcome our fears in order to reach success. Don't let it pull you down instead show your fears that you are the master and that you can easily tear them down.
Expect the unexpected
How do you feel when you are expecting something and yet it didn't happened. It hurts right? I have experienced it many times and the pain I felt is really bad. Sometimes having fear over things can lead us to overthinking too. Expectations will start to cloud our mind and if anything didn't happen we become discouraged. Being discourage at work is a no no because it might affect your performance. So might as well expect the unexpected and accept the things that we cannot control.
Act positively all the way
Having fear attracts negative emotions and bad vibes. Eventually when we are afraid of something there is a tendency to act negatively. Start having positive feeling despite being afraid, although this is hard to do but it is only you who can do it. Don't expect someone to do it for you because it is your own battle and your victory can only be achieved if you have the guts to win over your fear. I believe being optimistic can help lessen your fears and of course your willingness to do it.
Relax and enjoy your journey
This is the last thing that I keep reminding my husband. Sometimes we are too scared that we forgot the word relax. Working abroad is not that easy though the salary is good but the work load is a lot plus the homesickness is another thing. Stress and pressures from your head along with your other co workers might give you headache but no matter what, learn to have fun, relax and enjoy the work.
Closing Thoughts
Having fear is normal. The best way to overcome it is to feel it. Be brave enough to handle it in your own way and then overcome it later on. Don't let your fear block the success you deserve in life. Let me end this article with the nice quotes about fear I found on the net.
