Most web content creators attain some success with their writing skills. But what if you’re not a gifted writer? Can you still be a successful internet content provider and rake in a decent stream of income? Of course you can, by utilizing a camera and capture some videos or pictures.

First, let’s talk about choosing to be a vlogger, instead of being a blogger.

Since vlogging is easier than blogging, we can declare that it is easier to make money with the former compared to the latter. Now, why do I say that? Who do I think vlogging is easier?

The way I see it, being a good blogger requires greater time and effort to accomplish than its videong counterpart. Hear me out with my reasons.

When you decide to blog, and wishes to attain some decent success with it, you need to:

Learn the craft of good writing – To achieve this, you need to study a lot, and read a lot. You can’t be a good writer if you don’t invest on a lot of reading. Grab some books or browse through a multitude or web articles – this is the key to do this.

Attain SEO techniques – This is a big factor in grabbing the success you hope for. Having a nicely-written blog with very few visitors is a very lonely digital place. You need to configure and optimize your creation so it has high web visibility. SEO is a very complex art to master, hear it from the experts. (I’m not saying I’m one of them though.)

Buy your own domain name and begin setting up on a blogging platform – In order to be highly visible and searchable on the Internet, you need to have a top-level domain name, and this can’t be done if your domain name has a very long extension name. In addition to that, you also need to buy some hosting plan. It is the virtual storage area where your blog files and media can be stored.

Have excellent attention to visuals and details – Writing good articles is not enough, you also need to lay them out properly along with supplemental graphics and photos. Furthermore, you also need to polish and configure the visual structure of your blog to make it more easy to navigate. Thus, a good blogger must not only be good with words, he/she must also be good with images.

In contrast to vlogging, here’s what you just need to do:

Set up your channel in Youtube – This is not a very hard thing to do. If you already own a Google account, you are only a few steps away from owning a Youtube channel. With additional clicks and typing some few words, you are already set to upload your videos.

Upload content at any time of your convenience – Unlike the frequency of your posting on your blog, you don’t have to be that consistent with your vlog. Blogs need to be supplied with content on a regular basis so they can be indexed by search-engines properly. With a vlog channel, you don’t have to worry about it that much.

Not learn too much about SEO – Getting searched in Google is a lot more difficult than getting search in Youtube, so you don’t have to be anxious about being visible as a vlogger. As long as you put a clear title to your vlog post, you should just be fine in blending along with other Youtubers.

“Everyone can write articles, but not everyone can capture videos and edit them” – This is the strongest argument that pro-vloggers would most likely say. But here’s one thing that nobody can dispute, in order to be a good blogger, you need to be a good writer and you can’t be one, if you refuse to read and read a lot.

And in order for you to be a good vlogger, you need to be good in making and editing videos. To do this, you need to watch a lot of videos.

Now ask yourself, which is more difficult, watching a set of videos, or reading a set of books?

The bottom line? It’s mainly up to you. But in choosing to be a vlogger, you have to know the most ideal niches that you can include in your videos.

If you’re going to study Youtube carefully, you’d most likely find out that the following would be the most famous types of videos that an aspiring vlogger like you can choose.

Music and Performing – Utilizing your talents in this field is very profitable. To be more specific, you could vlog about these:

  • Singing/performing with musical instruments – some artists start their journey to fame doing it on Youtube!

  • Teaching how to perform – Many people, young or old alike are interested to learn about playing musical instruments, maybe you should exploit this fact!

Health and Fitness – Many people believe that health is wealth. This is the reason why health-related keywords are among the most popular in Google. Vlogging about how to improve one’s physical status would surely prove to be very attractive.

Jokes and Pranks – If you search for the keywords “best vlogging niches”, you’d most likely find out that a lot of the results would be about comedy.

How-tos and walkthroughs – Viewers would surely love to know about the following subtopics:

  • Fixing gadgets and electronic equipment – Many of us own devices of this kind. We would love to know how to fix and improve them right?

  • Food and cooking – Who hates eating? Nobody. A vlog that teaches how to cook is very hard to ignore.

Gaming – In case you didn’t know, PewDiePie, a vlogger about gaming is currently the most successful vlogger in Youtube. Maybe you want to be like him?

Reaction Videos/Commentaries – Pick any hot issue from news items, celebrity gossips, and almost any topic you could think of. Make insightful comments and reactions about it, and viewers will surely dig this.

Travel and Outdoor Adventure – Many people want to travel but are sometimes unable to, or do not have the financial means to do it. As an effect, they opt to viewing travel vlogs, to have an idea of what it feels to travel to various exciting places.

Unboxing – Before shoppers buy something, they want to be sure if they would get their money’s worth. Opening a product out of its packaging is something that will surely grab their interest.

If you dislike the idea of capturing moving images, how about capturing still images?

Let’s tackle this question first by knowing what are those that you need to have as a successful photographer.

Of course, you need to have a decent camera. Sure, you can take photos with your phone, but you will most likely be ignored by online companies and clients who look for the ones that can provide professional services.

If you wish to have some serious income with your photo services, you have to invest on a good camera, this should go without saying, but I said it anyway.

In using your camera and related equipment, you have to be also good in these:

Using image-capturing equipment efficiently – devices of these kind are often expensive, they have to be utilized efficiently or they wouldn’t be too good producing impressive images.

Angling and framing – some things, especially human faces look their best when they are angled and framed in the right way. Being a good photographer means being good at these techniques too.

Utilizing natural light – although lighting equipment can just be employed to enhance the quality of your photos, it is good to harness natural light that’s around.

Work your best to be good at these 3 techniques and you will be on your way towards a good photography career.

Whether it is vlogging or photography you choose, I’m giving you my warmest encouragement: be brave and enjoy your journey… it’s all a matter of hard work.

Another option that I feel is better than both is podcasting. All the benefits that you mentioned with video, but a lot less work in production. Plus, podcasting is cheaper to get started with in terms of quality. High-quality video equipment is way more expensive compared to the same quality of audio equipment.

I prefer blogging to vlogging... Firstly, in blogging, you just need to think of a topic and you can even research it to make your work easier.. Then there are a lot of blogging platforms that will allow you to earn immediately just like here in read.cash and on publishox. While in blogging, as you mentioned above, you need skills in editing, of course in filming as well.. And before you earn in vlogging, just like in youtube, you need atleast 1k followers and 4k hours watched..and we don't need it in blogging..just like herm.even if you do not have that much audience, you still earn because of the tips from the bot and from other users 😉

Anyway, i want to do vlogging as well and continue my youtube channel . but don't have much time to make videos. That is why i like blogging, i can write anytime and anywhere.. Not consuming a lot of effort and time.
