Depression is a disorder that many people suffer from, but don't talk about. They often feel ashamed to share their struggles with others and are afraid of being judged or ostracized. The first step in overcoming depression is to open up and share your experiences with someone you trust. This can be a family member, friend, counselor or doctor.

Here is an example of a friend of mine who got divorced from her husband a year ago. She later remarried and the one she married was her former acquaintance and very responsible as a husband.

Shortly after my friend's wedding, she told me on the phone that she was not happy with her current husband. I was very surprised because as far as I know her current husband is a very good man and responsible so there is no reason to be unhappy. Even then I asked her: Why, what is the problem? She told me: No problem, but I'm not happy. Now she does not know why she is not happy. Only she said: There is no way she can find peace in her new marriage. So is she suffering from depression here? Maybe the answer is yes, she is suffering from depression.

Maybe her past still haunts her. That's why I tried to comfort her in many ways and told her to accept the present life and move forward because past is past. There is no point in ruining the present by dragging the past.

Maybe my support saved her from a lot of depression but there are many who do not get this support because they do not share their grief with anyone and end up inside.

Depression is a serious mental illness that can be triggered by a variety of emotional and environmental factors. The most common is stress, either physical or emotional. Depression can also be caused by chemical imbalances in the brain, an autoimmune disorder, or even an eating disorder.

Depression is one of the most common mental health disorders in the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that depression is the leading cause of disability among adults with approximately 322 million cases worldwide.

Depression has not just affected the individual, it has also had a significant impact on their families and communities, as they struggle to understand what might be wrong and try to offer support. Depression can be managed, but only if its taken seriously!

Depression is one of the most serious mental illnesses. It affects about 1 in 10 people at some point in their life. It can be hard to recognize and symptoms vary widely, but it's important to know the signs and get help - early diagnosis increases the chances of a full recovery.

Depression is a mood disorder characterized by persistent sadness and apathy, feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, irritability, loss of interest in once-enjoyable activities, significant weight loss or weight gain without trying to diet, increase or decrease sleep patterns. Depression can range from mild (minimum four symptoms) to severe (multiple symptoms present all day for at least 2 weeks). Some people experience only one episode during their lifetime; for others it becomes more chronic with episodes that come and go over years. it is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

The only way to do so is by talking about it and seeking help for it. This paper looks at depression from different aspects like its causes, signs and symptoms, treatments as well as misconceptions or myths.

The United States of America has the highest rate of depression in the world, with 15% of population experiencing clinical depression symptoms. Depression is affecting roughly 350 million people across the globe. It affects young children and adolescents as well as adults. Depression also affects people who are older than age 60 more than any other group.

Depression causes more than 20,000 deaths each year in the U.S. alon. Depression is ranked as one of the leading causes of disability and premature death globally, but despite its high prevalence and lethal effects, it often goes undetected and untreated because many people living with depression are reluctant to seek help or admit their symptoms because of its stigma .

Most people do not forget their past events and suffer from depression like your friend. Depression is a condition in which the sufferer loses his or her balance. If a person suffering from depression shares his grief with someone else, his inner warmth is released and he is able to maintain his balance. Your support must have benefited your friend's condition. Your friend should enjoy his present life and blow up his past like a piece of paper so that he does not miss out on a prosperous life. We must not allow depression to overwhelm us in any way so that our balance is maintained. I hope that your further efforts will help your friend to get out of a dangerous situation like depression.

We can compare depression to carbon-monoxide, We do not realize it hurts us. We should get rid of the small thoughts because the small thoughts freeze and turn into despair.

I've known someone who end her life because of depression and to be honest, it's hard for me to accept that fact because she is close to my heart. It's really difficult to overcome that kind of situation especially when you have no one to talked about it. Hayst

Just by simply asking, "How are you?" to someone who is suffering depression can really help. We should let them know that we can be their support system that is ready to listen.

Depression is something that isn't easy to get over, our past shapes who we are, when one gets depressed it tends to linger into other aspects of ones life shaping him/her into someone they ain't, its easier to hide the depression than face it, so we pretend, smile and live like we're fine while we die inside, its messed up I know. Nice to meet you though.

That is true. I was saved. Depression almost got me. Your mind goes out like a blank slate, nothing comes out except you want to end everything. I don't want to get back into that phase again.

It’s funny how the most depressed people are most those that smile a lot and everyone might not even suspect a thing
