Superiority is an illusory concept, we are all equal on the path of life, regardless of the level of education, salary or training, you can always learn something from everyone, even from those you consider "inferior".
Human ignorance is the subject of study by sages of all generations
From Socrates to Darwin, much research has been conducted to determine what awakens superiority behavior in humans, which almost always results from a great sense of inner lack.
One of the most accepted theories on this topic is known as the Dunning-Kruger effect. Psychologists David Dunning and Justin Kruger from Cornell University believe that this effect is characterized by cognitive impairment, in which people who do not possess certain knowledge believe that they know more than they have studied and experienced, without acknowledging their own ignorance and failure.
These people live in a state of illusory superiority, believing that they are very wise, but in reality they are far behind those around them.As Dunning and Kruger's 1999 article states, "The incompetent are often blessed with inadequate trust, protected by something that seems like knowledge to them."
People who have this syndrome believe that their abilities are much higher than average, even when they obviously do not understand what they are talking about. They do not have the humility to recognize their need for improvement. They also do not recognize the potential of those around them, their selfishness prevents that. You probably know someone like that, trapped in his own ignorance, who does nothing to improve and still believes that he is above good and evil and that he has the right to judge everyone around him.
These people, who know nothing about a subject, act as if they are masters and try to nullify the well-planned arguments of scholars and experts.
In order to develop as people and societies, we must have a healthy dialogue in which both sides have the same right to express their opinion and be heard. Learning from each other is a very important skill, which should be encouraged, after all we do nothing alone in this world. We can always use someone’s experience to simplify life.
People are becoming less and less willing to grow collectively. We believe that a degree makes us unsurpassed and flawless. That is far from the truth, and only when we learn to recognize our limits and socialize with people who can offer us what we lack, can we really develop.
Superiority is an elusive concept, we are all on the path of life together, and regardless of the level of education, salary or training, you can always learn from everyone, even from those we consider "inferior".We need to work on controlling the sense of superiority within ourselves and open ourselves to all the growth opportunities that arise when we are humble.
I just call it securing yourself
