Doctor Who - Doctor Hu - science fiction series

If you’ve ever wondered which is the series with the longest tradition in the science fiction genre, the answer is Doctor Who. The BBC began broadcasting in 1963 and continues to do so today. The main character of the series is the Doctor, an alien from the planet Galifreja and a member of the Time Lords race. Together with various companions (mostly of the human race), the Doctor travels through time and the entire universe, along the way fighting various monsters and obstacles, in order to save civilizations from danger. Time travel allows him to use his spaceship TARDIS (acronym for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space). The exterior of the TARDIS looks like a blue British police phone from the 1950s, a common sight in Britain at the time the filming of the series began. The function of such a pay phone was to give every person the opportunity to contact the police quickly and free of charge if they are in trouble.

The original idea of ​​the writers was for this to be an educational program for children, in order to better present history to them, but much more came out of that idea. Children (as well as adults) were confronted with a timeless hero, a role model from whom much can be learned.

As already mentioned, the Doctor belongs to the race of Time Lords who, at first glance, are similar to humans. They are one of the oldest and most technologically powerful races in the Doctor Who universe. They are unique in many ways, such as two hearts, great wisdom, nonlinear perception of time, especially mathematically precise writing, etc. Although they possess quite a number of fascinating abilities, one of them needs to be singled out and further explained, and that is regeneration.

Regeneration implies the ability of the Time Lord to, in a dying situation, completely change his body and personality in order to save himself and continue to live. Probably the first question is: "Is he the same person or not?", And the answer is: "Yes and no."

Glavni lik serijala je Doktor, vanzemaljac sa planete Galifreja i pripadnik rase Vremenskih Lordova . Zajedno sa raznim saputnicima (uglavnom ljudske rase), Doktor putuje kroz vreme i čitav univerzum, usput se boreći sa različitim čudovištima i preprekama, kako bi spasao civilizacije od opasnosti.

Putovanje kroz vreme mu omogućava njegov svemirski brod TARDIS (akronim za Time And Relative Dimensions In Space). Spoljašnjost TARDIS-a izgleda kao plava britanska policijska govornica iz 1950-ih, čest prizor u Britaniji u vreme kada je snimanje serije počelo. Funkcija ovakve govornice bila je da se svakoj osobi pruži mogućnost da brzo i besplatno stupi u kontakt sa policijom ukoliko je u nevolji.

Originalna ideja pisaca je bila da ovo bude edukativni program za decu, kako bi im se bolje predstavila istorija, ali iz te ideje je proisteklo mnogo više. Deca (a i odrasli) su se suočili sa vanvremenskim herojem, uzorom od kojeg se može mnogo naučiti.

Nisu mu dali tenk niti ratni brod niti ratnu letelicu, već su mu dali govornicu iz koje se poziva pomoć.

Kao što je već pomenuto, Doktor pripada rasi Vremenskih Lordova koji su, samo na prvi pogled, slični ljudima. Oni su jedna od najstarijih i tehnološki najmoćnijih rasa u  Doktor Hu univerzumu. Jedinstveni su po mnogo čemu, kao što su dva srca, velika mudrost, nelinearna percepcija vremena, posebno matematički precizno pismo, itd. Iako poseduju popriličan broj fascinantnih sposobnosti, jedna od njih se treba izdvojiti i dodatno objasniti, a to je regeneracija.

Regeneracija podrazumeva sposobnost Vremenskog Lorda da, u situaciji umiranja, u potpunosti promeni svoje telo i ličnost kako bi se spasio i nastavio da živi. Verovatno je prvo pitanje: „Da li je on onda ista osoba ili ne?“, a odgovor: „I da i ne.“
