Night 2 of the revised way of putting BabyRah down. So far not going as well as last night but still better than we were dealing with.

So Night 2 of the new plan to get BabyRah to sleep through, not as successful as NIght 1 but I have a real sense of progress being made. We have laid some foundations so we are now more in control of the night than he. I always wanted this but MamaRah can't abide him crying. She finally gave up on her approach a couple of nights ago when she realised crying is an inevitability so while we are acting late we are still early enough to get ahead of it.

So I have just found out that my UK bank has introduced a flat £5 charge for all incoming foreign transfers. All of a sudden Paypal looks more attractive and crypto even more. Peer to Peer finance has to be the way forward. We just need to get that gas under control

While I don't agree with Putin's approach I think he might have a point when we think about the balance of power and how NATO's ever encroaching growth has effectively surrounded Russia. Russia has two tenets to their argument, this one and the sense of collective security. Both make sound political sense even if Putin is being a d___ about it. Last month thanks to the dip I was down almost 8%. I am pleased to say that I have already recovered about 6% of those losses. Maybe the bear was short and vicious but is thinking about hibernating again.

So now Putin has played his masterstroke. He has recognised (illegally) Donetsk and Luhansk Provinces as independent and moved Russian forces (into Ukraine) to protect these so called countries. He has now created a narrative where if the Ukrainians decide to fight back and launch attacks on these two so called republics then it can be seen as "aggression against a Russian ally" and thus "justify" a Russian invasion of Ukraine. Found out a short while ago that one of my friends was awoken by bombing at 4am in Kyiv and she and her family are now heading towards Poland. Another guy I know feels that Poland may only be safe for a short time (esp if Nato introduce a no-fly zone) and so he and his family are heading to India. So Putin's plan to stop the eastern expansion of Nato is spectacularly backfiring. If he felt surrounded before its now even worse for him with both Finland and Sweden seriously considering joining Nato. I have never been a big watcher of horror movies, but when i have watched them they have always made me laugh.
