So while I believe that Putin has some legitimate concerns., it is increasingly appearing that he is planning his strategy based on Hitler's strategy of the 1930s. Only this time the west has yet to draw a definite lline in the sand. As Poland was too distant in 1939 so Ukraine is now. Sanctions don't change anything but if NATO threatens war that is an unpalatable scenario that goes way beyond the consequences of the war of 1939 I genuinely hoped he'd had his games and was pulling back. He'd got the world's attention and then he was spinning the withdrawal. Still hope i am right but looks increasingly unlikely Worrying times.

The west will not go to war over Ukraine and the economical benefits do not make up for the cost of a full invasion. It will be pull back or invade the eastern provinces that are basically already Russian. Next 72 hours will show the true colors.
