In this season of widely spread of Covid19 in my city, I love to 'boost up' our immune system especially the lungs by boiling Chinese herbal soup once or twice a week. Here is a combination of Chinese yam, Solomon's seal rhizome, lotus seeds, lily bulbs, dried longan and dried red dates. Boiling 3 hours with meat brings out the natural flavour of the herbs. Very yummy. We eat it with rice and a side dish of carrot omelette today. Do you like Chinese herbal soup? #Foods

Yesterday was such packed day, I ready the photo of our french toast (loaded with eggs + milk + brown sugar) but never posted. Geee..... 😬 [my brain shrinks when I multitasking beyond my limit, lol] Today we started our day egg-cellento with eggs too. After bringing my aunt for her 2nd dose vaccination, and it was still early because it only took us 30 minutes at the vaccination centre, we went to market. She bought us cherries, strawberries and mangoes. She happy, we happy. She is happy to finally get her doses done. A happy fruitful day😍. #Food

Lockdown at home caused the children to think outside the box. They got bored with store-bought board games and decided to make a new game for themselves. The plastic stool turned upside down become battleground, marbles their weapon, Pokémon cards their 'entity', Hotwheels cars their rewards. Maybe I am out-to-date, I couldn't understand the game. When I have leftover ABC soup from the night, I love the use them for the next day, adding dumplings, fishballs and cheese tofu. The soup becomes extra flavourful. The children love to pour the soup and everything else onto their rice. A good combo with a stir fry vegetables. This is my super lazy cook. 😁 Watcha cooking? #Food

I told them today only two-session of screen time, one hour each. They had used up for breakfast and lunch. Let's do some scratch art. Surprisingly, this little activity is very fun. Lunch at aunt's always made me feel like attending a buffet lunch. Just eat this. Then, eat that. She lives alone by herself and always looks forward for the day to cook for us. So, she would cook sumptuous meal like this. Steamed minced pork with egg and salty fish, fried prawns, mint leaves egg omelette, chicken in bolognese sauce, and mixed vegetables with fish cake. The smile on their faces always melt away all my worries. Must be auspicious day. My friend bought me red wine mango. And then my aunt also bought us red wine mango also. So we have two huge red wine mangoes. We closed all the thick curtains. Switched on aircond. The living hall in dark mode. We switched on TV Netflix. Watched The Mitchell's vs The Machines with the boys. A nice animation. Popped in Royale popcorns to support the cinema business. While sipping our coffee (for adults only). Such a bliss! Husband's idea. The workers' smiles were so wide, from left ear to right ear when I ordered 10 packs of 'briyani' rice (some with mutton kurma, some with beef rendang, some with chicken masala) from them. Couldn't get enough of the food from the same Japanese restaurant I posted earlier. Here is another of their chef-recommended - - - ROKA JYU. I love love love their presentation. Just look at their carrots-stars and the sliced zucchini like equally sliced to 0.8mm each. This has torched-cooked salmon, unagi, egg, all sorts vegetables. I have friends who love (love love) noodles, unlike me, I love rice. BUT, let's have a change, since I was buying soup dish for my brother who had his vaccination and wanted something light for his meal, he had his soup kuey teow (flat rice noodles). Somehow I suddenly miss eating corned beef. Mother-in-law made this for us sometimes but now in lockdown, she is not living nearby us. Stir fry the corned beef (from the can) with decent amount of big onions, potatoes and carrots. We serve it with bread today, top some cheese and lettuce. No sauce needed, already super yummy enough. Lotus root soup is very popular dish among the Chinese. We called it 'leng ngau tong' in Kantonis. I love cooking this, because it is fast and easy, tasty and nutritional. Fish head thick meehoon (meehoon = rice vermicelli) for today's lunch - having noodles today since I was buying noodles for others in the house. I totally can SLURP this whole bowl dry, super love the milky broth soup made with stir fry ginger, tomatoes, pickled mustard, plum, some onion oil, evaporated milk.
