Rewrite: Let the Earth Breathe

Have you seen the viral video of a group of scientists being arrested for holding a silent protest just to raise awareness about earth climate crisis and we only have 3-5 years to save it?
Actually, after seeing that video, I was reminded of the plot of the film "Don't Look Up." I've watched this film when it became trending on netflix. The mentioned film tells the story of two astronomers who go on a media tour to warn humanity about a planet-killing comet racing toward Earth, but instead of paying attention to what is going to happen, the government prioritizing their own belief, ignore and mock the two astronomers and did not believe them which resulted to the earth disruption. This kind of situation is what we usually see in science fiction apocalyptic disaster film wherein every disaster begins with a scientist being ignored.
Going back, scientists who held a protest were warned by the government. It's scary how this kind of situation is happening in real life. We all know that the climate crisis is one of the world's most pressing issues that has yet to be resolved. Many environmental agencies have issued warnings about earth globak warming before, but people was just ignoring them; however, the recent warning of the scientist is quite different.
So, I'm already thinking about how I can help after watching the video because I don't want to experience what happened in the movie. Because social media is more widely available, I'm considering using it to raise awareness of our planet's current state.
I shared a post on Facebook about many ways on how ordinary people may help to save the earth.

And lastly, I'm utilizing this platform to encourage everyone to do the same thing: share and write an article about the scientists' protest in order to raise awareness and ensure that their voices are heard. Let us all unite and do whatever we can to raise awareness about the current events in our planet. Keep in mind that we have only 4-5 years to save it.

San Miguel is Pink: Mini Rally Experience
My second time attending a Leni-Kiko Campaign rally happened yesterday.

In this article, I will share with you my second rally experience, which took place in our province—this was simply a mini rally in our town. I'm really looking forward to it since San Migueleos for Leni volunteers has announced it. My previous experience was a memorable one, so I'm hoping to have the same sensation after attending the mini rally... And, as expected, I had a great time last night.
I had an online class for the subject Development Communication at 7 a.m. It was a two-hour session about Information Dissemination and Behavioral Change. Then,I had my breakfast after the said class and rest for a little while I wait until 12:30 pm to start preparing.
Because of the heat, I change my clothes three times to see what is appropriate for the weather and what I am most comfortable with. In the end, I wore my leni-kiko top, a short, and shoes.
I arrived at the location with two of my closest friends. Prior to entering the venue, we bought first some street food. We visited some of my former senior high school friends shortly after entering. I also spent time with former classmates from high school. It's really good to know that many of my former classmates share political views as mine.
At 3 p.m., the pre-show began with various musicians testing the sound of the microphone. Following that, some of our municipality's in-house talent, such as various bands and drag queens, performed.
Senator Kiko's niece took the stage at 4:30 p.m. for the main program. Hannah Pangilinan and Ella Pangilinan are both truly wonderful and intelligent young ladies. Kudos on a job well done by their parents for raising them well.
On the other hand, VP Leni's favorite child gave a speech on the stage at 5:00 p.m. She represented her mother because this was a just a mini rally. It was her first rally since she moved to New York to pursue her studies, but she decided to return home to help her mother's campaign. It was nice to finally meet her.
Following the speech, many artists continued to perform. Their performances kept us thoroughly entertained. It was indeed a solid night. Congratulations to all of the rally's organizers.
The second version of the grand rally will be held in Malolos, Bulacan, on April 27. Because Leni, Kiko, and the rest of the Tropang angat will be returning to our province, I'm hoping to be able to participate again.
Life Update: Holy Week Edition
Happy Easter Sunday, read cash community.
Time flies, and holy week flew by. I hope everyone took some time to reflect and unwind during this year's Lenten season. Everyone had a good week, but can you still recall how you spend your Palm Sunday, Holy Monday, Holy Tuesday, Holy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday?
As per me, yes! so bear with me as I narrate my own activities over the last few days of this season for this article.
**Palm Sunday**
My cousin asked if I may accompany her to church, and I quickly said yes. We arrived at our municipality church at 5 p.m., but before entering, we purchased "palaspas." I paid close attention as the priest began his homily, which is why I recall his three messages for everyone.
1. Do not be afraid to suffer
2. Crucify the Lord no more
3. Offer to God everything
We headed directly to Jollibee after an hour in church. My cousin treated me with a meal.
**Holy Monday**
I've decided to take the forthcoming civil service exam. My cousin messaged me about this exam. Actually, at first, I had no idea what this exam was about or how significant it was, but after doing some research, I discovered how crucial and useful it will be to my resume records if I pass it. It was on this day that I traveled to Malolos in order to complete all of the requirements for the stated examination.
I went to McDonald's for lunch and then returned home.
**Holy Tuesday**
During the day, I was only at home. I began watching "My Liberation Notes" on netflix, a new korean drama that had just been released. I noticed a brief snippet from this kdrama on my tiktok fyp that piqued my interest n my tiktok fyp, that's why I didn't hesitate to watch it because the brief film depicts an introvert type character and the comment stated that the plot and characters are quite realistic.
**Holy Wednesday**
I assisted my mother in cleaning our home in preparation for my two sisters, who work in Makati and Manila, returning home to spend their four-day break in the province.
**Maundy Thursday.**
In the afternoon, both of my sisters arrived at home. We simply spent our days catching up on each other's lives. They also checked out our new karaoke system, and of course, I took advantage of the opportunity to sing along with them, thanks to the fact that we have three microphones. **Good Friday**
It was a sweltering Friday, so we just stayed in our air-conditioned room. I only left the house to buy our merienda.
**Black Satuday**
We went to Divimart to purchase some goods and clothes for my sister. It was an opportunity for me to buy clothes because my sister said she would treat me, but there were no clothes that I wanted, so yeah, I really waste the opportunity.
**Easter Sunday**
My sister opted to return to their places today because they didn't want to deal with the traffic tomorrow. For my part, I simply spent the day viewing the second half of the film "Don't Breathe." I also had a quick chitchat with my friends on messenger.
But one common factor throughout the week is that I have been sleeping early for the previous seven days.

My first individual task on Personality Development Class
The first individual task given by our professor in Personality Development Class is to write a diary which summarizes the month of March, and also we should answer a personal swot (strength, weaknesses, opportunities and treaths) analysis on our own.
The first thing I did is to write my first diary which summarizes my month of March. Luckily, I already wrote an article here in read cash about it so I just used it and revise it a bit. Part of the diary must contain the answers of the questions above.
**Thoughts about Upcoming Graduation:**
The days continue to pass by, it only means that I am getting closer to the most anticipated event of my student life: college graduation. According to the recently announced Bulsu Calendar, graduation will take place in July. Ever since I was in highschool, I have been looking forward to that special day wearing a suit and a black toga and walking onto the stage to accept my hard-earned diploma. Despite the fact I am still in my final semester of college, where I must pass my final six units, which consists of two subjects, I can't help but to think about the upcoming graduation. Every student's dream is to graduate from college, so I'm hoping for a face-to-face graduation for us, as it is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Our batch was also delayed by the k-12 education program and the Covid-19 pandemic, so I can say that we truly deserve a face-to-face graduation after all of these uncertain events. It makes me happy just to think about the forthcoming graduation.
**What makes me happy?**
Apart from the thought of me graduating, being able to do what I want also makes me very pleased. That is why I am so grateful to have a supportive family and friends that are always there for me. Also, whenever I am stressed or burned out, I enjoy spending my "me time" wherein I use this time to relax and take a few deep breaths. In addition, I appreciate the rain's cool weather. It was my safe haven, and I felt totally at peace in it.
**What makes me sad?**
On the other hand, one aspect of my personality that I despise is my tendency to overthink things, which can lead to me becoming sad and anxious about things in my environment. Overthinking has a bad impact on my mood, causing me to feel unhappy and think negatively about myself.
**The next task is about personal swot analysis. I answered it with the guide of the questions below in each section.**

**Internal - Strength**
I am currently a senior at Bulacan State University, where I am studying Broadcasting with a Bachelor of Arts degree. My capacity to adjust to rapid changes has always been a strong suit of mine. I can simply adapt to the situation. I joined different production teams in our college where I gained experience in media production. I spent my internship at CLTV36, a local television station, where I experience a glimpse of a real-world media production, as a researcher and production virtual assistant.
My ability to manage my time is viewed as a strength by others. My friends continually telling me that I manage my time effectively and that they don't see me feel stressed, which makes me aware of this aspect of myself.
Every accomplishment I've made is significant to me, but being part of the CAL Gold Gears Awardee in 2021 is the one I'm most proud of right now. In the midst of the pandemic, I had not expected to be on the dean's list.
**Internal - Weaknesses**
Fear of rejection has been one of my negative tendencies since then, causing me to hold back whenever I want to achieve something. It impairs my confidence to the point where I don't always present my own ideas at times. As a result of this, I've developed a bad habit of overthinking about things.
**External - Opportunities**
In terms of technology, I have extensive experience with Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. I'm also honing my editing skills on several editing apps, both mobile and desktop. I frequently seek advise from people who were once members of our school's news publishing group. Being a communication student, I am confident in my ability to communicate, as well as my organizational skills. I am capable of working both independently and in groups.
**External - Threats**
One of the current hindrance I'm facing right now is the new normal setup. Despite the fact that I was able to adapt and adjust already, it can still have a negative impact on my productivity. Another issue is my bad habit of overthinking, which can possibly result to me being unproductive.
Tuesday: Netflix and Chill
Getting up earlier in the morning hearing raindrops coming down on our house's roof. Getting up to that sound is one of my favorite scenario. It's not just because it's cold outside; but for me, it means that it's time to get some rest, watch some Netflix, and relax for the day. I understand that many of us must work despite the rain, which is why I am relishing this kind of day before graduating from college in July, because as soon as I graduate, I will be required to begin working, and chilling for this kind of day will no longer be an option.
I said in my recent article that the cold weather helps me be more productive in various ways. This is why I decided to write this article. But apart from that, this chilly weather makes me unproductive at the same time and makes me want to relax, so even though I have schoolwork due on Thursday, I have decided not to do it now. I'll try to do it tomorrow instead. I just want to appreciate the cool weather brought on by the rain in the middle of the summer season.
I began my day by eating lucky me noodles. After that, I turn on our television and open Netflix. I noticed that the kdrama "Thirty-Nine," which is currently popular on different social media, is a part of the trending series. I remember seeing the trailer and poster of it before it was released and telling myself that I was going to watch it because the three major lead characters are amazing artists since I've already seen their previous kdrama. Crash Landing on You's Son Ye-jin, Hospital Playlist's Jeon Mi-do, and Hometown Cha-Cha-Kim Cha's Ji-hyun.
"Thirty Nine" tells the narrative of three closest friends, Cha Mijo, Jung Chan Young, and Jang Joo Hee, as they lean on each other through thick and thin and stick together as they navigate life, love, and grief as they approach the age of 40.
Cha Mi Jo is played by Son Ye-Jin of Crash Landing on You. She is a director of a dermatology clinic in Gangnam. A nice character who grew up in a privileged family with everything she could want.

Jung Chan Young is played by Jeon Mi-do of Hospital Playlist, who aspired to be an actress but ended up becoming an acting teacher instead. Despite the fact that she speaks in a rough and abrasive manner, the sincerity with which she expresses herself makes her a difficult character to dislike.

Jang Joo Hee, a department store cosmetics manager, is played by Kim Ji-Hyun of Hometown Cha Cha Cha. She has yet to have a romantic connection because of her shy attitude.

I'm only halfway through the third episode, but I'm already anticipating what will happen in the coming episodes. One of the scenes in the second episode is the funniest kdrama moment I've ever seen. While writing this section of the post, I was reminded of the scene, which makes me smile and chuckle once more. I think I'll have a hard time moving on to that scenario because it's so funny. I'm not going to give anything away or spoil, so you better watch it haha.
In any case, I enjoy watching this kind of kdrama that have deep friendship bonds. I had to stop watching it since I needed to write this article, but I'll resume watching it now to enjoy the time during this cold Tuesday.

Rewrite: Life Update
Hi. I haven't written an article for read.cash in a long time. It's just that the summer season's hot weather makes me feel lazy. http://read.cash
But today was different because the weather was a little shady, making it a little chilly, which is why I wrote this article. Rain and cold weather have become my comfort zones. This was something I realized while working on our thesis proposal last semester.
The speaker at one of the seminars I attended told us that when we want to think about new ideas and thoughts, we need to find our comfort zone.
So, when I'm trying to write, I always wish for cold weather so that I can have the energy to complete my task, especially when I'm tired and burnt out. However, we should never forget that it's natural to have days when you don't get much done or are "unproductive," as they call it. Don't feel bad if you don't do anything productive for a day; it's perfectly normal and healthy, especially if you use the time to relax and take a few deep breaths. Typically, these kind of days, I just want to rest day to relax and refresh my mind.
Anyway, what's important is that I'm back in read cash after one week of rest. However, what did I do during those days?
**I WATCHED THE KDRAMA CALLED "RACKET BOYS"**
This Korean drama is indeed a hidden gem on netflix. You should all try to watch it. I am grateful for all of the lessons learned and the comfort I received after watching it. When these kind of shows I'm watching come to an end, it really makes me feel genuinely sad because I'm the type of person who can easily attach himself to anything, the reason why I can sense the sepanx. After all, everything must come to an end. It's all about how you enjoy the journey and cherish the memories you make.
**RUN ERRANDS FOR GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS**
Our college's student council informed us that we needed to pass form 137 from high school as well as a copy of PSA. Because I lacked both of the aforementioned files, I used this week to run errands in order to complete all of the necessary tasks. First, I requested a copy of my Form 137 from my previous school. It was fortunate that our college had already sent us a copy of the request letter, so when the assigned registar requested a letter, I handed over the printed letter from my college university. It took less than 15 minutes for the registart to complete its search for my files. Following that, I went to our municipal hall to request a PSA. This birth certificate file cost 350 pesos and take two weeks to process.
**MY FIRST MONTH IN READ CASH WAS CELEBRATED**

Three of the most memorable major mass communication subjects I studied
Some people believe that taking mass communication course in college is simple. "Masskomportable" and "video video lang" are two derogatory terms I frequently see on social media and hear people use to describe this course. They had no idea how difficult this course in reality.
I chose Mass Communications as my college course because I assumed it did not include a Mathematics subject. Yes, I am one of those students who despises math, despite having studied Accountancy, Business, and Management in senior high school. Kidding aside, I already shared the reason in my previous article, but if you haven't read it yet, the reason I chose mass communication is because working in the television and media industry has always been a dream of mine.
Transitioning from high school to college has been difficult for me, and one of the reasons for this is because of the major subjects in the college of Mass communication. Let me share three of the most memorable major subjects I studied in this article.
**Program Planning**
In the media industry, planning a program is extremely important, which is why I was so excited when I took this course subject. The journey was stressful because we had to produce a program as a group. Our professor gave his approval for our group's Make or Break game show, so we only made one episode on it. The fact that we need to make a lot of props and assist the production in setting up, I experience sleepless night here. Regardless, it was a fun experience as I I learned a lot about how the production works in real life.
**Producing Live Programs for Broadcasting and Related Media**
Because our section needs to produce a program, this subject made my third-year student life feel like hell. Following the brainstorming session in class, we decided to create a show called "iDream," in which we showcase different people who are known for their incredible talent. As the Floor Director of the program, I learned how television production works more in real life. Unfortunately, we had only shot two episodes when the pandemic lockdown began, but we continued to produce the remaining episodes online.
**Script Writing**
This subject course has pushed me to come up with a unique story idea despite the fact that I am not a writer. As part of our finals requirement, we must write a storyline, consider the characters, and write a well-written script. After several story concept rejections, my professor finally approved my concept:

5 Things to remember as the summer season begins

But whats new this year is that we can spend the summer differently than the previous two years because the government has minimized the covid 19 protocol in various parts of the country, Even if your entire focus is on planning vacations, it's still important to remember health and safety. Having said that, here are the five things to keep in mind when planning a trip to a different tourist attraction:
**DRINK WATER**
With the hot weather on the way, we must remember to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. Drink plenty of water to avoid becoming dehydrated, as our bodies require water to function properly. I recommend getting a tumblr so you can take it with you wherever you go, or at the very least keeping bottled water nearby.
**BRING YOUR UMBRELLA WITH YOU**
Sunlight has a significant impact on our skin. We must remember to bring an umbrella wherever we go in order to avoid having unhealthy skin. We should expect also a sudden thunderstorm due to the hot weather so we really need to bring an umbrella, although some people find it inconvenient to bring.
**APPLY SUNSCREEN**
Some people may not think it's necessary to use sunscreen, but I strongly advise everyone to do so. To be honest, I was not previously a fan of sunscreen, but after watching a video on tiktok about it and its benefits, I began to use it as well. Even when we are at home, we should use sunscreen because the radiation from screens such as phones, laptops, and televisions can harm our skin.
**STILL PRACTICE HEALTHY PROTOCOLS**
Despite the fact that the country's covid 19 pandemic protocols have been reduced, we should still wear face masks and carry alcohol or hand sanitizer. We must always, always protect our health in order to have an amazing summer experience.

Productive Monday

For everyone, a new week means a fresh start but I'm sure that I'm not the only one who hate Mondays. After a two-day weekend break, we must return to our regular routine, which may include duty at work, studying, or other activities. Some of us may still be recovering from the weekend's rest, which is why our bodies aren't fully functional on Mondays. We also have the mindset that the weekend is still five days away, but somehow, this can motivate us to do better this week so that when the weekend arrives, we can relax and unwind rather than worrying about the uncertain events happen on the previous week.
Since I started studying, Mondays have been one of my least favorite days of the week, but the truth is that we can't hate this day because it is already a part of our lives. Instead, we should accept reality and strive to improve. I know it's easy to say, but difficult to do, haha. Hating Monday is just a coping mechanism for us, and I don't see anything wrong with that. What matters is that we get through this day and continue to be more productive for the rest of the week.
In the spirit of being productive, I spent my Monday completing a number of tasks. Actually, I haven't had a productive Monday in quite some time. Monday is just a normal day for me now that I've finished my thesis and internship last month. I only have two subjects left and we don't have any tasks to complete yet, so the fact that I had a productive monday today makes me want to share it with you. You should be proud of me, haha just kidding. Anyway, here's what I got up to today:
**PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT CLASS REPORTING**
As I mentioned in my previous article "First Day: Personality Development class.", Today is the day that my group should present the assigned topic given by our professor. I wrote my script for today's reporting yesterday. I got up at 8:00 a.m. this morning to prepare for my 10:00 a.m. class. My group only talks about things related to our reporting before the class. The time came, and thank God, we were able to successfully present our report. At 11:30 a.m., the class ended.
**ANSWERED GOLD GEARS AWARD FORM**
This is probably the last time I'll fill out a Gold Gears Award application during my college journey. My grades, thankfully, qualify me for the deans' list. I simply filled out all of the required information and uploaded screenshots of my general weighted average or gwa and my bulsu account.
**DO HOUSEHOLD CHORSE AND BILL PAYING**
After finishing my brunch, I spent the rest of my time cleaning the house and doing dishes. I also took a bath because my mother assigned me the task of paying our electric bill.
**LEISURE TIME**
Because it is a rainy day in our area, I decided to watch Junevile Justice on Netflix, as I prefer to binge-watch series in a cold weather. After that, I played mobile legends. After a six-game winning streak, I was on the verge of reaching Mythic IV. Later tonight, I'll try to reach it. I also wrote this article and published it here.
I am sure that today is far different from the productive days I had prior to the pandemic and the stressful semester online class last month. I know I should take advantage of these less productive days because I know that once I graduate from college (hopefully in July, according to our university calendar), and started working, every day will be a productive day filled with workloads.

For you guys to know me better, **I'll begin my personal introduction with my username—why** @nathawriter**?**
"**Nath**" from *Nathawriter* came from my name **Nathaniel**. I use the first syllable of my name, "**Nath**" because it sounds like "**Not**," and I added "**a writer**" so that everyone could read it as "**Notawriter**," but I changed the word "**Not**" to "**Nath**," so that my username have its own identity. *Nathawriter* because I am not really a very good writer. I came up with this username since my thoughts and ideas aren't very broad. I don't write much, which is why most of my articles are only 2-3 minutes long to read. I actually prefer to write short but thorough articles, but I know that in life, we must sometimes push ourselves beyond our comfort zones, which is why I am attempting to write articles that will take at least 4 minutes to read.
**Have you ever had a nickname?**
**Pepe/Pe, Tani, Nathan, and Epep** are some of my nicknames. Let me give you a quick rundown of where it all started.
**Pepe/Pe** — is my first nickname, which I've had since I was a baby. My sister is the one who gave me the nickname Pepe. My mother told me that my sister had always looked after me since I was a baby, and that she always said "Tulog na Pepe" instead of "Tulog na Baby" when I sleep. Yes, she couldn't pronounce the word "Baby" when she was younger. Since then, this nickname has been given to me by my family, and most of my relatives, and some of my friends called me by this nickname.
**Tani** — This nickname is orginally from a well-known weather forecaster on GMA TV Station, Mr. Nathaniel Cruz, and he goes by the moniker "Mang Tani." When we had a discussion about weather/PAGASA wayback in grade 7, Mr. Nathaniel Cruz was mentioned and when the discussion was over, my classmates started calling me "Mang Tani" because we share the same name. It became part of my nickname ever since. It's actually better than Pepe, in my opinion haha.
**Nathan** — This is a common nickname for someone who have the same name as mine. People who didn't know me well used to call me by this nickname.
**Epep** — During the pandemic, the Filipinos began to reverse some words, for example malakas to sakalam, pera to areps, and multo to otlum. As a result of this trend, my family began to refer to me as Epep, which is a reversal of my first nickname, Pepe, haha. Isn't it funny? Haha.
**What do you like to do in your spare time?**
I'm one of those people who spends almost half of their day on Facebook, Tiktok, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube. Watching korean dramas and international series is also one of my interests. I like taking photographs and I enjoy playing mobile legends.
**What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play?**
**Volleyball and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang** are two of my favorite games.
**Volleyball** — I've been a volleyball fan since I was in high school. I watch the UAAP, a well-known collegiate conference in the Philippines, and became fan of the Ateneo Volleyball Team. As a result, I began to play it as well, but only for fun. As much as I'd like to play again, I simply don't have the time, so I watch volleyball games instead.
**Mobile Legends: Bang Bang** — When we decided to have an internet connection in our house, I started playing the mentioned mobile game. I decided to download some mobile games because I didn't want to waste my time scrolling through social media. I initially downloaded Call of Duty, but I found it difficult to play, so I uninstalled it and replaced it with Clash of Clans. I also uninstalled it after a month and downloaded the Mobile Legends app. I enjoy playing it so much that I continue to do so.
This concludes the first part of my response to some personal questions I came across on this site. On my next article, I will try to answer more questions.
First Day: Personality Development Class
Yesterday, We officially began our Personality Development class— one of my final two college subjects. I got up at 9:00 a.m. to get ready for my 10:00 a.m. online class. I was hoping that face-to-face classes would return this semester, given that many schools are already offering limited classes since I always wish that my final semester of college to be a memorable one, but it looks like that's impossible to happen, but I'm hoping that our university will accept our request for a face-to-face graduation at the very least. Imagine our batch being delayed by the k-12 education program, the Taal eruption, and the Covid-19 pandemic; it's almost as if the universe doesn't want our batch to graduate haha but anyways, after all these uncertain events, sleepless nights, and stressful days, it says a lot that we truly deserve a face-to-face graduation because having the opportunity to walk, march, and go up on stage wearing a toga and holding a diploma is a completely different kind of feeling.
Going back to my first day of class yesterday, I was literally on my bed when my professor called my name. I got up and opened my microphone to speak right away. My professor's question was this:
N/V: "Can you tell me how you see yourself?"
"I would describe myself as a future-oriented person; I've wanted to work in the media industry since high school, which is why I enrolled in this course to achieve my dreams in the future; however, despite my focus on the future, I've always made sure to enjoy the process and the journey to get there. I'm also a responsible person who, most of the time, makes my own decisions on what I should do, say, and how I should act."
"Do you see any changes in your highschool self now that you're in college?" my professor followed up with.
"Yes, a lot. Before when I was in highschool, I was an outgoing type of person or extrovert, but in college, my personality changed. I am now more of a silent type of person, and I only make noise if I know everyone around me, not like when I was in highschool, when I was so talkative."
We also completed a ten-item questionnaire in each personality test that reveals a lot about how we see the future, our generalized beliefs about it, our self-worth or self-esteem, and finally, our self-monitoring.
When I was in senior high school, I actually had the same subject. They claim that if we have already taken the subject in high school, we do not need to repeat it in college, but those rules has not been fully implemented. It just goes to show that the K+12 program isn't entirely effective, but I think I'll appreciate this subject now that I'm older, especially since personality development is one of the steps I need to take before I begin working in the professional field. As they say, "personality is more important than skills".
At 11:30 a.m., the class ended. Our professor reminded us, particularly my group, to prepare for our presentation next class, in which we will present the Freud and Erickson Theories and their Importance to Personality Development. My thesis group is the same one I have now, which is a good thing, and we are the first to present, same as the group order of our thesis defense. I somehow like it because I didn't want to think about it for too long and wanted to get it done right away. Good luck to us!
Bulacan Is Pink: Grand Rally Experience
As a first-time voter, my vote goes to Leni. Why? Because, of all the presidential candidates, she has the best and cleanest track record, which says a lot about her being a good servant. She also provide numerous covid19 assistance to Filipinos during the surge of the pandemic, and her transparency as a government official is exactly what we need. We need a leader like her so that we can see where our taxes are going. Her office, the OVP—Office of the Vice President—has also received the highest rating in COA for three years, which means a lot. VP Leni Robredo is a listener who is very appreciative of his fellow countrymen. A leader who has been a victim of fake news, the reason why she has been bullied by those who believe to the misinformation spread online and choose not to fact check it—yet, despite the criticisms and bullying she has received, she chose to stand up and continue to do her best to help the Filipinos.
Having said that, since she decided to run for the highest government position in the Philippines, I've been following her presidential campaign since then. I've watched all of her grand rallies, which made me want to join, so when I saw the announcement that her next grand rally will be held in my province, Bulacan, I immediately messaged my friends to invite them to join me, and since they all support VP Leni as well, we decided to go and give her our full support.
The day before she went to Bulacan, Caviteños also showed their support for VP Leni, with 47,000 kakampinks gathered in one place and a successful event—a hard act to follow indeed.
The much-awaited day arrived yesterday, March 5. The day has arrived for #BulacanIsPink. I set my alarm for 7:00 a.m., before going to sleep but I was already awake at 4 a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep because I was so excited for the grand rally and to see VP Leni so I just waited for the time to come so I could prepare myself.
At 3:00 p.m., the event started. Some of VP Leni's senatorabiales also made an appearance on stage to show their support and to present their platforms.
Mr. Ogie Diaz and Loi took over as the grand rally's hosts at 5:00 p.m. They are known for their wit, which is why the event was fun; some singers and bands, who are volunteers like those who attended people's grand rallies, also sang and supported VP Leni for free.
Some pride of Bulakeños also performed but what got me was the performance of the group of doctors. They are called as "RobreDOCS" and performed "Di nyo ba Naririnig?" Tagalog rendition of "Do you hear people sing" from Les Miserables. I literally got goosebumps hearing them sing. Applause to all of them, our modern heroes especially during the pandemic.
I'm thrilled to see Vice President Leni when she take the stage. Her speech was particularly amusing, as she read aloud from placards prepared by her supporters, which contained witty and funny messages. #LetLeniRead became a viral sensation and became part of her campaign. On the other hand, she outlined her platforms and assured us that she would return to Bulacan before the May 9 election. The spectacular fireworks display began shortly after she finished her speech. Bocaue, in Bulacan, is known as the "Fireworks Capital of the Philippines," which explains why haha.
To conclude, I arrived at home at 11:30 PM. A well day spent indeed full of fun and inspiration. was a solid and fun day. I'm glad I was one of the 45,000 kakampinks who marched to Malolos New City Hall.
My first grand rally was memorable, and I'm glad it was for VP Leni. I wish the Philippines all the best on incoming election. Let us not squander good governance and instead consider our future.
#FlashbackFriday: My Childhood Life Experience
Childhood Memories... Others were able to have a joyful and playful child life experience that they treasured up until now, but some people were unable to enjoy those times for a variety of reasons, one of which could be their parents' strictness.
Personally, I am grateful that I was able to have a memorable childhood. I recall how we used to play on the street until late at night. We also went on picnics, looked after stray cats we found on the side of the road, and swam in the river.
I remembered all of these details about my childhood after reading Sulit PH's blog entitled 20 Snacks That'll Make You Miss Your Childhood. The article discusses those previously popular snacks that kids tried to eat during snack time, as stated in the title.

Why I decided to get vaccinated

To begin, In 2020, Coronavirus Disease often known as COVID-19, was officially announced as a global pandemic. Factors like suspension of jobs and education due to quarantine and lockdown caused a direct impact on the lives of millions of people, which gave fear, panic and anxiety to everyone. It brought major changes on how people live from wearing masks and having physical distancing in public.
But after a year of pandemic, the Philippines welcome the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine and the Department of Health (DoH) started the mass covid19 vaccination program with eight (8) different brands that are proven safe and effective based on EUA, FDA, DOH, and clinical trials! These vaccine continues to prove its efficacy, made successful stories of recoveries and least chance of being infected by the disease.
However, these vaccine brought fear to some Filipinos as misinformation about its side effects spreads on social media, influencing most people's decisions, and I can't deny that I am one of them.
When the mass vaccination campaign began, I was 80% certain that I would not get vaccinated. I'm constantly thinking over its possible negative effects to my health and body. Different type of vaccines were something about which I am completely unaware.
Despite my overthinking, I still decided to get vaccinated. Why? Let me tell you the story.
One day, when my brother returned home from a trip to Manila, he told us that he was unable to enter certain establishments and buildings there. He shared that before he could enter any facility, the guards demanded a vaccination card to prove he had been vaccinated. The next day, social media was flooded with reports of "No Vaccination Card, No Entry."
The main reason why I decided to get vaccinated was because of this, Haha.
So, after that day, my father went to our local municipality to get himself vaccinated. We immediately went to the municapality's vaccination program after he texted us that there were no long lines that day, so we took advantage of the opportunity to get our first dose of vaccine.
My fears about the side effects were totally baseless. My right arm was the only part of my body where I was experiencing discomfort. It's only natural, given that that's where my shot was taken.
Two weeks after our first dose, we received our second dose. Only during my first dose did I experience the same side effect.
After getting vaccinated, I finally received my vaccination card, which I can use in the future. But, on a more serious note, despite the fact that I am serious about my reason haha, I am glad I took the opportunity to get vaccinated because in the end, it is better to be safe than sorry especially these days that things are slowly going back to normal, its better to have this kind of protection.
I tried to be a YouTube Content Creator before.
Do you remember the time when youtube became popular as means of making money? When youtube was our go-to source of entertainment? When we decided to watch the video advertisement just to help the creator earn money, and perhaps try our luck at being a YouTube vlogger?
Well, it appears to be as simple as it seems because many people, including myself, have misconceptions about being a YouTube creator. I honestly believed it was easy.
Back in the year 2018 when I tried my luck in the youtube world. My project in one of my major subjects was the first video I uploaded. When I was trying to make a YouTube channel and ensure that it was registered, I discovered that I needed 4000 watch hours and 1000 subscribers in order for my channel to be monetized. I also need to apply for some important things that I am unfamiliar with.
After that, I continued to upload videos in the hopes of reaching the target watch hours and subscribers so that YouTube could monetize my channel, but it was difficult for some ordinary people like me to do so, so I eventually stopped uploading videos, but my YouTube journey was not over here.
During the pandemic, when we were trapped at home due to the lockdown, I decided to start a new channel where I uploaded tutorial videos and kdrama recommendation. I had seen some YouTube video content about tips and content suggestions, and it stated that tutorial videos are one of the content that aspiring youtube content creators can try, so I tried uploading these videos:
Despite the fact that my second video received over 5,000 views, I stopped uploading videos after that and decided to end my YouTube journey. My laziness was one of the factor [haha]. That's why I have faith in creators who use YouTube to make money, although for some of them, producing video films is truly their passion.
Today, out of nowhere, I watched my previously uploaded video on YouTube, and I was shocked to see that it contained advertisements.
My YouTube channel, as far as I recall, is not yet monetized, so I search instead for why it has ads.
After watching several videos about it, I discovered that YouTube has released a new update in which, even if your channel is not yet monetized, advertisements will be played, but the revenue from these ads will go to YouTube rather than your account.
Mayoxiii is actually my secret YouTube channel where I post tutorial videos and other content, but I'm glad I can share it with you. You can take a look at it and leave a comment below if you have any content suggestions, and I'll see what I can do about resuming video uploads.
a much needed break
After 15 years of education, I am happy to share with you that I am now in my final year —last semester of college. People say it's the most difficult and stressful year since it's what every student must get through in order to graduate and begin working in a professional field. Well, I couldn't agree with more of what the folks have to say about it; it is, after all, true. We, the communication students at our university, must complete our research paper while also working on our internship at the same time. I'm not sure if the current situation which is the pandemic helps us in some ways or adds to the stress because we have to do everything online, but thank God we completed all of the duties that needed to be completed. I finished the first semester and am now in my final semester of college, and I just enrolled in yesterday.
This green donut symbolize the units I earned and passed this college. As you can see, there are only small slice left which means 2 subjects left or 6 units to earn, and one last sem before graduation! Padayon!!
With this journey of mine, Allow me to share with you my experiences when I took the opportunity to take a break from all of the stress I was suffering in those 15 years of education. I understand how important it is to take a vacation, especially if you are feeling burnt out, unmotivated and believe your head is overflowing with bad thoughts that are preventing you from being productive.
The mountain is one of my favorite places to relax. The wind and beauty that I see after a hike truly soothe my soul and provide serenity to my mind.
Having said that, let me share with you some of my hiking trip experience.
**Just a 'lil throwback (thursday)**
The recent hiked was when my cousin, who had recently returned to the Philippines from Taiwan after her work, sought to invite us to unwind, I saw it as an opportunity to relax and immediately grab her invitation.
We decided to went to three kings. We saw this view after an hour or less of travel and hiking. Look at how amazing the view is from where we are.
And, of course, I didn't miss out on the chance to take a shot in such a beautiful place.
While writing this article, I suddenly remember our family trip we had wayback january of 2020.
We had previously hiked Balistada Hills. My family and I had never gone on a hike together before. This is something I used to do with my pals. Anyway, it's funny how everything was organized by my cousin and me. It began with simply the two of us, and when we told our families about it, they enthusiastically agreed.
Since my cousin and I were the ones who organized it, we were also given the task of contacting a jeepney driver for transportation, determining what time we should go to the mountain, and what food we should pack.
Just like at the three kings, we can't stop taking photos of the breathtaking scenery on top of the mountain.
To add up, during my high school years, hiking up a mountain was one of my favorite trips whenever we had free time. We used to trek on various mountains in our area with my friends, but since we split up during college and now have different schedules that we can't control, we rarely get together and arrange another trip.
Although we were in high school at that time, I believe we also needed this type of trip to take a break.
I really missed the fresh air and the breathtaking views from above the mountain. When things return to normal, I hope to start hiking again.

As a 22-year-old student, how did I pay my thesis expenses?
I vividly recall the phrases uttered by the lecturer to all the aspiring students who applied for the program of masscom back in 2018.
*Non-verbatim:"Magastos ang course na 'to. Mula production, project at lalo na ang research o thesis dahil ang thesis nyo ay dapat output based."*
I'm just an 18-year-old back then, maybe that's why it didn't register to me since all I wanted back then was to pass the college application so I could have peace of mind and pursue my passion in media production.
Years passed, and those phrases came true as I spent a lot of money on school stuff, productions, and other things. However, I still expected a lot more costs when I took my thesis 1 course last term.
As expected, since our thesis must be founded on an output, we must produce a media materials for a certain institution. It could be something as simple as a promotional film or educational resources. My study group opted to generate media materials, namely an animation video and a storybook adaptation of it. Because our target responders were currently engaged in two separate types of learning: modular and online, we came up with this notion. For online students, there is an animation video as well as a storybook for modular learning. Clearly, we must save funds for future expenses.
In the second semester of my third year, I finished my first thesis. Because there were only three chapters, we didn't spend too much time on it.
1st semester on my 4th year, this was the time when I needed to spend a lot of money because we already needed to produce the materials that we could use in our research.
So, as a 22-year-old student, how did I cover the costs of my thesis?

It's only been a few months since I started as an Axie Infinity scholar. My brother was the one who offered to get me in. He's the one who plays the arena because it's the most difficult portion of the game to master so I'm giving him 1/3 of the obtained slp. I didn't write this article to brag. I'm just proud of myself for being able to cover all of my thesis expenses on my own. In addition, I am the one who pays our internet bill on a monthly basis now. Even though I am still a student, I am glad that I can contribute even if it is only a tiny amount to my family's monthly expenses already.
Perfect KDrama to Binge Watch this Sunday
There's no better way to spend your time than binge-watching a Korean drama.

Since today is a rest day for most of us, why not take advantage of it by binge-watching a Korean drama that will makes you feel light and at ease. After a tough week, take a break and watch something that will make you feel better and possibly inspire you.
With that in mind, here are a few of my favorite Korean dramas you can watch today.

**Hospital Playlist** is the first on the list. Without a doubt, one of the best Korean dramas. You'll adore how each episode begins with a flurry of emotions and concerns, but in the end, all of these issues are resolved. Although it discusses medical issues about which some of us are unaware, but the fact that they put medical terms in the lower right corner is very commendable. This series will make you ride on a roller coaster of emotions. It can make you laugh and cry at the same time in a snap as it showcase various types of love—romance, friendship, and family. It is, without a doubt, a family-friendly drama.
MY FAVORITE SOUNDTRACK OF HOSPITAL PLAYLIST:
**Hometown Cha Cha Cha.** I'm sure some of you are already aware with this kdrama, since it has become rather popular since its premiere last year, but for those who aren't, I strongly advise you to watch it. You'll adore the overflowing chemistry of the primary couple, as well as the side couple. Each cast performed an excellent job representing their characters. The cinematography is excellent, and while some may argue that the plot is cliched, the fact that they deliver each scene so brilliantly keeps it fresh in the viewers' minds.
MY FAVORITE SOUNDTRACK OF HOMETOWN CHA CHA CHA:
**Reply 1988.** THIS KDRAMA IS A TOP TIER. It took me a long time to decide what series to watch next after watching it. The fact that the characters are relatable, you can really watch this kdrama without feeling bored. This kdrama tackled a wide range of topics that hit close to home, including family, friendship, coming-of-age problems, economic and political issues, and everyday life, so you can learn valuable life lessons while also experiencing nostalgia.

This is the sign if you haven't seen these Korean dramas. The joy and fulfillment that these Korean dramas can bring to their viewers is undeniable.
It's true when people claim it's a healing, therapeutic, heartwarming, iconic, and mind-blowing Korean drama. I really advise everyone to check out these series.
In the middle of the pandemic, this is exactly what we need. I'm so glad I discovered kdrama at the right time
Reflection: An Artist's Manual Webinar

To start of, the webinar entitled **“Reality Check: An Artist's Manual”** was organized by the students of CIIT of Arts and Technology which focused on the three guest speakers' experience and journey as a freelance artists. They generously shared their inspiring life and work experiences in graphic design, film production, and mural arts. This webinar helped me to understand how versatile the industry of arts and letters is, as well as how necessary it is to learn numerous fields in order to benefit oneself in the future.
**Graphic Design**
The first freelance artist to speak was a graphic designer. While she was giving her speech, I learned a lot about how to approach prospective clients in the future.
She also shared the phrase posted in the picture in which I completely agree. Some people tend to delay necessary tasks and do other things until they wasted so much time that will lead to completing the task in a short period of time, resulting in an unsatisfactory result. On the other hand, some people are more comfortable with it than others. Personally, I'm part of a group that crams their work into as little time as possible but I can tell that I am more productive and my mind is working harder with that kind of setup.
**Film Production**
The second speaker was a freelance filmmaker. I am able to identify myself with him since he is also a student. However, he already worked on a real production in the film industry, as part of viva film.
He never imagined that his curiosity in filmmaking would lead to his dream job. It all began with a pique of interest, and look where he is now. Following our curiosity can bring us to good or unpleasant result, but one thing is certain: there will be no regrets or what-ifs later.
**Mural Arts**
Finally, a muralist. This was actually my first encounter with this kind of art. It is, without a doubt, a fantastic opportunity to see intriguing mural work.
One thing I learned from her experience that I may apply to myself is the value of understanding one's own worth. Some people around us, especially those in the professional field, will always try to acquire a discount or demand a much cheaper price, which is why we must understand our worth as artists and as persons in general. Making art is a difficult task. At first look, the process of creating art appears to be simple, but it requires a substantial amount of work and patience on the part of the artist. As a result, we must compensate for such efforts at an acceptable cost.
Overall, I had a great time at the webinar and learned a lot. Their story inspired me, and I'm convinced that as a media practitioner, I will be able to make my own professional journey in the future.
Virtual Internship Experience at a Local TV Station

To share with you guys, I've always wanted to work on a television station since I was a highschool student. Perhaps it is for this reason that I chose mass communication as my course in college although I am not that really good in speaking or even in writing.
After 3 years in the media-communication program, its time for us seniors to take our internship. Because of the current situation brought by the pandemic, virtual internship was the only option for us to complete the internship course subject. I started applying to several media related company last year of October. Despite the fact that some companies had already accepted my application, I still chose to participate in a virtual television internship.
Before the start of my internship, I had an orientation with the company and the department to which I had been assigned where we discussed the responsibilities I'd be doing.
I officially began the 200 hours of work I need to render with the company on November 25th.
The first task I received was to transcribe an interview for a specific episode of a program. I completed the specified task provided to me after 8 hours of work.
On the 29th of November, the internship's second week began. The task assigned to me was to carry out research materials where I needed to browse articles about human rights and violations of human rights.
Also, I was assigned to transcribe two interviews. The continuation of the transcription happened on the following days.
On the 8th of December, I was given the task of researching materials for Manny Pacquiao Candidacy Episode. I looked for articles related to his past issues and presidential campaign. After the production of the aforementioned episode, I was asked to transcribe the interview.
I spent my work hours leading up to the Christmas break assisting CLTV36's social media marketing team. The task was to encode the personal information of text viewers for the Giant Lantern Festival 2021 viewers' choice text promo. Because there were two batches, it took me two days to do this task.
After the christmas break, I continued the third batch of the task given to me before the said break.
Despite the fact that the New Year has arrived, I still have 30 hours left to complete my internship. I assisted the social media marketing team in encoding the details up until the next day.
I just signed in for attendance on my last day because there were no tasks assigned to the interns.
Overall, I am glad to be part of the internship offered by the tv station.

Appreciating All of Us Are Dead Characters
I'm sure we can all agree that zombie korean series differ from zombieseries from other countries. The way the Korean production team builds their own zombie masterpiece while adding their own personal touch is pretty unusual. From the zombie classics like The Flu and Train to Busan to more contemporary zombie shows like All of Us Are Dead, which is presently Netflix's most watched series.
According to the director of the aforementioned Korean series, AOUD is unique in that it features highschool kids. That is correct! The majority of zombie series on the market are about grownups surviving the apocalypse. Perhaps this is why people can easily relate to the characters, causing it to become a social media sensation.
I wanted to express my admiration for some of the movie's most memorable characters in this article.
Lee Cheong-san is the first on the list. A student who was unafraid to fight for his life as long as he and his friend remained alive. In actuality, we'd all like to have someone in our lives that is like his persona. A comrade in arms. However, I hope that at some point, he puts himself first.
Then there's Choi-Nam ra, the class president. I admire her for fighting her zombie self for as long as she possibly could in order to avoid biting any of her classmates or friends. She also did everything she could to help them for as long as she was able.
Lee Na-yeon is the third character. We may have felt sorry for her character in the squid game series, but we despise her in All of Us are Dead. Well, as an artist, I admire her, but not her character. I really like how she was able to capture the essence of her character. Incredibly talented artist indeed.
Finally, the "shibal" girl, Park-Mijin. I adored her character because she was so ruthless and bold. I didn't think I'd enjoy her character at first, but as the film progressed, I began to admire her for her intelligence and authenticity.
Reflection: Seeking The Truth In The Era of Fake News
Last January 28, I participated in a webinar entitled "Media LiteraSEE: Seeking the Truth in the Era of Fake News" which was hosted by the students of Mapua University – School of Media Studies.
The fight against fake news is still very relevant today, as we experience it on a regular basis on various social media platforms. Some people are still blinded by the truth and choose to distribute misleading content, despite the potential for a domino effect. This level of participation encourages the spread of fake news. Having said that, this type of webinar truly helps students to at least mitigate the misinformation through athorough discussion on fake news, which did occur, and as a future media practitioner, I can say that the speaker's lecture taught me a lot.
Fighting fake news requires a huge amount of patience. The speaker emphasized this by sharing his experience as an Opinion Columnist. It will not be easy, and it will be a long path, but our small actions can make a big difference. Fact-checking is easy, and those who are deceived should learn to look for a trustworthy source. We can take small steps forward to resolve this issue.
The speaker also mentioned how fake news can mislead Filipino voters during the political season. These corrupt politicians can easily publish sketchy campaign materials, fake credentials, and try to clear their reputations through their words. If they are able to persuade the uninformed people to support them, this country will suffer for another six years at the hands of incompetent government officials.
As a broadcasting major and a Filipino citizen who is also a first-time voter, I can help to fight against this issue by sharing factual information about the candidates, both verbally and nonverbally. Since I am one of those people who wish for a better future, I need to stand up and speak out against this misinformation. At the end of the day, there is only one truth, and that is the one that must be acknowledged.
