Pasos on Holy Wednesday
April 13, 2022
These Church activities are one of the much-awaited activities of all since most of the saints related to the journey of Jesus Christ are being paraded in the streets.
A Paso (Spanish: "Episode of the Passion of Christ") isĀ an elaborate float made for religious processions. They are carried by porters on staves, like a litter or sedan chair, and are usually followed or escorted by a band.
So as it is usually observed and being held during Holy Wednesday so I had the chance to watch it, with some freebies or I think headache because the kids went with me. So I have to deal with them and also watch the parade.
We arrived in the city much earlier so I decided to withdraw some cash for I forgot to bring one. The sad part is we have to fall in line and waited an hour just to withdraw cash, good thing we came down to the city a little earlier.
And this fella was mistaken as a girl again, like for how many times already.
So while we were falling in line my sister called and told me that she'll go to where we were at since she had no overtime and I told her that we were stuck in the line at the atm machine so she went to the area and fed us before going to watch the Pasos.
Here are some of the ones I captured during the procession, I can't even distinguish them on whose who, I can only recognize a few of them..
If you're not a Christian or Catholic then you probably wouldn't have this kind of
activities even the Holy Week, this practice we're often observe.
I was doing a video so that Mum at home can watch all of it. And while I was recording the video I was also explaining the saints on some float that I remembered from the Bible and also the movies, like Simon helping Jesus carry his cross, Veronica who give Jesus water and wipe his face to my niece and she also asked some questions related to it.
The music used by each floats we're getting heavier up to the last and I felt a little nostalgic and remembered the scenes on my mind about what happened to our Jesus and how He saves all of us.
We'll be coming back Friday for another procession and it will be with the coffin where Jesus' body was laid.
Some of us usually have the Visita Iglesia but since I'm not fond of traveling so I opted to watch the procession and maybe have some confession if given a chance tomorrow.
Thank you for reading!
Be blessed and be a blessing!
