I took my cellphone from the stand on the dashboard after I drove in into the garage. Checked the messenger app and I was delighted when I saw the recent unread message in my inbox. It was from Sweetie. That was her nickname. I met her on a dating site from months ago and it felt like everything was right, the stars were all aligned, and the whole universe was in agreement with us.
She told me that she was having trouble with her marriage and it seemed like she was trapped in an unhappy loop of every day. Her husband seemed to not pay attention to her anymore and is negligent towards her. He would also rarely touch her and when he does, it just seemed to be out of physiological necessity.
I could relate to her so well since I am in the same kind of relationship. It has been months since I was able to connect with my stoic wife. All of Sweetie's complaints, I could attest to them and I really feel her place in the relationship.
That may also be one of the reasons why we clicked and why we bonded so well.
I got out of the car and continued exchanging messages with her. After opening the door, I smelled the aroma of a newly cooked meal. It smells good but I was really full since I have already eaten with my colleagues outside. And I don't care for my wife's cooking anymore.
"I'm home," I said nonchalantly.
"I have cooked. Would you want to eat now?" my wife said while she was on the couch watching TV.
"Nah. I'm good. I'm tired, I'll just rest early." and I went inside our room and then to the bathroom to take a shower. I took my phone so I can still talk to Sweetie and I messaged her with "I'm gonna take a shower, wanna join ;) ".
Before I was able to put my phone down over the sink, she replied again and this time with a photo attached.
Her message read "of course I would love to. ;)" and I hurriedly clicked the attachment to see the photo.
And oh boy, did my eyes popped out. It was a picture of her voluptuous bosom taken from above. It was still covered but her cleavage was just showing off and it was really accentuated like someone was holding them up.
I felt the blood rushed through my body and I was quick to take the shower to do another business under the shower rain.
I changed into a comfortable sleepwear and collapsed onto the bed. And still, I continued my correspondence with Sweetie until my wife joined me in bed. And then I dozed off facing the other way.
Sweetie and I talked almost all hours of every day for months. We have shared every detail of our lives even the intimate ones. We grow closer and closer together every day as we drift farther and farther apart from our spouses. We have done a lot of things online and the only thing we haven't done is meet in person.
After a few more weeks, I had the courage to ask her out. And through the ways of the heavens, she agreed to meet with me. But of course, we have to do it while the sun is up and make up excuses at the house.
We managed to pull away from our spouses and had set a date for an overdue meet-up. Since we are trying to be furtive with our clandestine meeting, we just opted to meet each other in a hotel room. I was there early and checked myself in and was really excited with anticipation of my meeting with Sweetie.
I gave her the hotel room number and I went into the bathroom to have another quick shower.
After about half an hour she messaged me that she was on her way up to the room. My chest was beating so fast and I felt like sweating a lot from my back even though the room was so cold already. It may be from the excitement or the thrill that we are about to cross the line and sin.
She sent me again a message and she was at the door. I opened it nervously with a smile but I could not even explain what I had felt the moment I saw the ever-familiar face painted with shock, surprised, and a whole lot of other things.
The woman on the other door was none other than my wife. We were angry, we were ashamed and we both did not know what to do. I shook my head in disbelief, how could such a thing happen to us?
Epilogue
They say that you can only find love once in your lifetime. But for this specific couple, it may have seemed that they have found love two times in their life, but it was just such a shame that it has to be in that kind of circumstance. In the end, even though they have proven that they were really soulmates, they had decided to call it off and chose to divorce each other.
It sucks to be them, but it sucks even more not to find your soulmate here in this lonely world of ours. Won't you just hope that there are clear signs when you find your soulmate? Like the sky will turn into purple-pink sky, or you'll have a green checkmark on both of your heads. Man, wouldn't that be awesome?
And when you think that you have found her or him, guess what, I hope that letting go isn't an option. Again, for most of us, it's just once in a lifetime.
Hiya!
How do you like that story? Sucks right? But surprise surprise, it's based on a true tragic story. It's based on a Bosnian couple who went to the online world looking for an escape from their "loveless" marriage, but as it turns out, they are tied by a powerful invisible string and they managed to find each other in the online world and fell in love with their online counterparts. What a twist.
I do hope that if you haven't still, may you find that one for you. :)
Thank you for visiting yet again and I hope that you somehow understood my adaptation of the story. I appreciate your time spent here and let me offer you a toast for our friendship ...
Cheers!!!
