Pause. Break. Timeout.
Pause. Break. Timeout. Rest. These words may sound so antiproductivity but they surely are underrated when it comes to efficiency and effectiveness of what we are doing.
When it comes to sports like basketball or volleyball, aren't time outs so important that they could be used to regroup and revisit the team's goal and directives? These timeouts are so important that they are only limited.
Timeouts can also change how the game is going. They could really change the outcome of a certain game. For example. A player's so hot that it seems like everything he looks at, he makes. Timeouts can can help the defense adjust, adapt, and strategize on how to hold him down. Timeouts can also freeze him and make him a bit cooler. It happens when his momentum is stopped.
They are really important, especially if they're used in the right time and in the right way. Why do you think coaches get all the glory for winning or losing the game?
And I just experienced the power of timeout earlier.
Incidentally, it was when I was playing a game of basketball on my console. It was just a difficult game. The CPU is pulling all the stops and all its tricks to beat me.
I pressed pause. And left the game for like about an hour. I walked away and wrote for a bit. When I was done, I went back to the game and what do you know? I was on fire. I scored 8 consecutive points and that was just enough to pull away from the CPU. And then, I won the game. It was just because I was able to play and have at it with a cooler mindset, and a fresher view.
If timeouts can be beneficial to games, they are equally as important in real life too. When we are feeling stressed, when everything seems to be working against us, it would really be a good idea to press the pause button and just step away from everything.
It is really a good idea to take time off from everything to clear your head, to help yourself refocus, and to concentrate on the bigger picture. Timeouts or breaks can really save us from gettint burnt out.
That is why vacations and relaxations are so expensive. They really work. They work like a charm. They help us recenter ourselves and to get ourselves back to being motivated. We are no use to ourselves if we're dried out and tired of everything.
So pause, break, and take a well deserved timeout from time to time. Just do it anytime you feel like the pressure is too heavy or when things are getting out of hand. Do it when you feel like you need to stop the momentum of what's working against you. Do it when it matters.
You can also practice this mentality everyday. I say every single day, not all day. You aren't taking a break of you aren't doing anything in the first place, you're just fooling yourself then. That's not the way it works. You try to game the system and the only one you're fooling is yourself.
Yes, it's true. Sometimes when you take a timeout, it's going to be hard to adjust to the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We can experience this when we get back to working from a long weekend or a long vacation.
It's alright, it's normal. We just need to warm up again. Just work with ease and remembered that you cooled down for a reason. You took time off so you could prolong your efficiency so don't rush things, everything will fall into place as long as you keep working towards your ultimate goal.
It is also important to remember that you are not slacking off when you take breaks or timeouts. They arw part of the process. They are integral to the overall success. Well, that is, as long as they aren't longer than the actual work.
Speaking of breaks, I do think that I need to take a break now. My little finger is starting to ache while trying to support my phone now. It's really hard to type long-a$s passages on mobile.
How do you guys do it?
Hi!!
This is a freewriting article made with the most dangerous writing app. Also, this is written on a mobile phone so this may be filled with errors, grammatical or otherwise. I would be so glad if you would be kind enough to point out the errors. :)
The timer is set for 20 minutes and it's done without a prompt.
That's it from me today and this is a great time to call it a night.
Until we read again...

For sure time out is so important, basketball is the best for me.... Most times I do gamble on it lol, in real life if we are being stressed on a particular thing I think the best option is to pause and relax so you'd come back with a different pattern...
