More Than a Yummy Lobster
After getting rejected yet again from his audition to be a part of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Bortus went to the beach to get some fresh air. He called upon his friends to keep him company. He was bummed out and real dejected because it was already his third time auditioning for the part.
As the casting directors would put it, he doesn't look like he would fit in a comedic setting. He was more like an action figure than a relatable comic character.
He sat at the bar as he waited for his friends to arrive. He ordered a glass of whiskey and downed it like it was nothing but a sparkly water. After a few glasses of spirits, his friends joined him and they got a booth of their own.
They were sincere in consoling him but of course, they showed it by teasing him. They were trying to lighten the mood by taking shots at him. And for the most part, it works.
Bortus suddenly got up and proclaimed "I want lobster!"
His friends and agreed and told him that they would order one just for him and it's on them.
"No. No. No. No. No. I want a fresh one. Let's catch one from the sea."
As soon as he completed his sentence, Bortus dashed to the sea and dived into the body of water. He may not be a comedian but he knows his way around water so he caught a lobster in no time. He emerged back on the surface of the sea with a Cruel Sethropod or lobster, in hand.
As he looked back at the shore, he saw a commotion going on. He noticed that a bunch of troublemakers were harassing others at the beach. I guess you can say that the casting directors know what's up when they say that he looked like an action star because it's Bortus' principle to help who is in need and lend himself to those who are in danger.
He ran towards the bunch and his friends followed him.
He screamed at the troublemakers and asked what their problem was. The group just laughed at him and mocked him.
As their eyes met each other in a hostile way, a fierce battle between the two groups commenced.
During the fight, Bortus noticed that he wasn't able to let go of the Cruel Sethropod in his hand. He used it as a shield and it was effective. Man after man, the troublemakers went down and Bortus, together with his friends and a Cruel Sethropod, restored peace at the beach. He may not be recognized as a part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he was a hero to all the real folks at the beach that day.
Long live that crustacean. Long live Bortus.
This has been my entry to Splinterlands Share Your Battle Challenge. The theme for this week is as follows:
THEME: CRUEL SETHROPOD
Edition: CHAOS LEGION

The Lineup
Here's the list of Bortus' friends and the lineup I used for this specific battle.
At the first position, I used the themed monster, Cruel Sethropod.
With the combination of its HP and armor, I thought that it is an ideal tank to be used for low-mid mana limit battles. This battle was set to 19 so it was perfect for this.
At the second position, I placed the Ice Pixie.
The Ice Pixie can attack with its Magic from even the backline so it's perfect pairing with the Cruel Sethropod. The Ice Pixie hides behind it while trying to deal damage to the enemies.
Also, the Ice Pixie has the ability Flying. I gambled that the opponent's attack strategy is based on melee. She could be a great decoy when the tank falls down if she could cause the enemies to miss.
Another attacker on the third position.
I placed the Xenith Archer in this position so she could attack from range while the Cruel Sethropod keeps the enemy attackers at bay.
At the next spot, I placed the Merdaali Guardian.
I took her to the battle because of her healing ability. An extra life or two will be an advantage if the battle is neck to neck. She heals the Cruel Sethropod in front while it takes the enemies' attacks.
At the last place, I chose the Deeplurker to man it.
It has a prettt high HP so it could sorta protect my a$$ from monsters which could perform sneak attacks. It can also attack even from the last position because of its Opportunity ability. While the Cruel Sethropod keeps the enemy busy, the Deeplurker hunts down the enemy with the lowest HP and attacks it.
Here's how the field was set for me and my opponent who used Earth Splinters.
After a few rounds, my strategy proved to be superior than his and the Cruel Sethropod did its job wonderfully.
Conclusion
I don't think that I would change anything with my chosen strategy to put the Cruel Sethropod in front as a baby tank. It worked like a charm here.
I like the Cruel Sethropod because it gives me an alternative tank for battles with low mana allocation. For Pete's sake, this lobster just costs 3 mana points, that could give you a whole lot of room to work with deciding other monsters to bring with you.
