This day was my best day
Hello everyone here in read. Today marks the end of the month but still an opening for new possibilities in life. Today it also seemed like an ordinary day for me now, but last year it was the start of my best days / stress days of my life. As it was the opening day of my first ever job.
What was my job?
I have mentioned this quite in my past articles, I recently worked under the office of Philippine Statistics Authority - Leyte as a Philsys Registration Center Supervisor. As it was first job, I wasn't really prepared about my functions, as I got promoted from my previous position weeks before our opening day it work.
How last year went. .
It really was a challenge on our part. Two of us in the whole team were hired on the same position as Supervisors, and from the start, I can really say that being a team leader is really tough. At first, we made courtesy calls at the Mayor's Office to request for a venue as our Registration Center. It was tough knowing that we lived in a small town with not much of a big buildings like our Gymnasium that could hold many people as the registration is ongoing. Since the Gymnasium was used as a Vaccination Area, gladly we found the TESDA Building, near a high school in our town. It took us days to cleanup the surroundings and make little repairs on the damaged parts. A day after that, I made another request at the Mayor's Office for a vehicle and came to Tacloban City to acquire our equipments to be used to register our townsfolk for the National ID, while my teammates are left at our center to continue on decorating our center for the opening. Sadly, our decorations are not as grand as the other towns but really did our best to make our Center look very good. And at March 31, 2021 last year, we were finally able to start our work. But first, it started with an opening program with our Chief Statistical Specialist and Regional Director, as well as our Mayor as the guests. It lasted for an hour and after the program ended, we were given the signal to start our registration. At first, our 5 Registration Kit Operators, I handled 2 for my team, were still having a hard time as it takes them time to register one person because some fingerprints takes time to be captured by the scanner while some are very challenged with the picture taking part. But luckily, at around 4PM our operators have finally reached the quota for the day (25) and it's time that they start to retrieve their equipments back to its luggage. And we, the Supervisors, have uploaded the necessary data for the printing of National IDs of our townsfolk.
How our Registration Center looked like at March 31, 2021
We were very happy that even though it looked like its for a birthday party, our job has finally started after few months of waiting. We were able to register 124 clients for the opening date.
And since it was already free time, we had a chance for a group photo
After this date last year, all of the challenges started to arise, overseeing the Registration Center to make sure that social distancing is being followed, checking the queue if the people are still following their order for registration, and tending to my Operators if they technical issues with their equipments. All of these I have encountered, I have been able to conquer them and it really helped me develop not only my work ethic but also on how to deal with clients with highest consideration and better customer service.
This was my best day, and I'll always be thankful for it.
For today, at present I am trying my luck in submitting my Teacher Application at Baybay City with a friend of mine. And we got a chance to visit and bond with our friend here in our recent work.
This date keeps on giving me the best memories. And I am always thankful for it.
Closing thoughts. .
I am always thankful for this day, be it last year or today. And I couldn't ask for more about it. I can't wait to wake up for tomorrow to a brand new start of the day of a new month.
Hello dear readers, thank you for sparing some time in scrolling through my lifestory, haha. I hope you enjoyed it for a bit and sorry I was off during the day as I was busy.
