Some merchant owed money to a samurai. Having violated the agreed deadline for repaying the debt several times, the samurai drew his sword to kill him. The merchant, reconciled to his fate, looking the samurai in the eye, just bowed and said calmly, "You are free to kill me, but before you do, you need to know that when anger grows, a wise man holds his hands down."

.

The samurai found the merchant's advice sincere and instructive, and therefore put the sword back in its scabbard, deciding to forgive him this time as well. They agreed on a new deadline, and then parted ways, each going to his own side.

The samurai traveled to his village for a few days. When he finally arrived, it was deep night. Entering the house, he saw two human figures sleeping in bed in a dark room. He immediately recognized that one of them was his wife, while for the other he did not know who it might be.

The next moment he thought it might be some man and immediately drew his sword.

And just as he was about to cut with it, the merchant's advice echoed in his head. Dropping his sword, he approached and quickly tore off the blanket. He was surprised to recognize his mother in the other person. He later learned that she had come to keep her daughter-in-law company because there were a lot of robbers in the area. So that they would not notice that the samurai was not at home, she was in the house with her daughter-in-law.

.

Realizing that he had just escaped the tragedy thanks to the merchant's words, he immediately turned and left the house. He headed back to where he had just come from. After a few days he found a merchant. When he saw him, the merchant first thought that the samurai had changed his mind about the deadline for returning the money.

Instead, the samurai stood in front of him, bowed, and said in a soft but determined voice, "You don't owe me anything anymore." Then he turned and headed back to his village. Surprised, the merchant looked after him for a long time.

For them, perfection is the greatest joy. Despite the passage of time and differences in culture, we can learn something important from their life principles.

I see myself in that Japanese valuation system and I would fit in best there. That nation is a blend of wisdom, courage and honor. I admire them.

Everybody once in life heard about these fearsome warriors. They have their codex of warfare, special weapons, ritual suicide act to protect their honor if they are defeated, and even women in their squads. Also they were politicians, and knows many art skills as well.
