Yesterday, July 9, 2020, was probably one of the best experiences of my 2021. Honestly, there was nothing so special about it except that we got to spend our day in the middle of the water.
For those who just happen to read my article for the first time, I am a person with a disability, who used to say no to every opportunity to get to enjoy the sea. However, just recently, things have changed as I kind of wanting to be in the water more often.
So yesterday, we got to visit Marina's Floating Cottage in Baguinbin, Palompon, Leyte for the first time. It was probably a less than 1-hour travel. From the house to the port, it took us only 30 minutes. As soon as we get there, we had to check in first.
The port
While waiting for the boat to get ready, we were amazed by their fish pond, where you can see lots of bangus or milkfish, swimming quietly. The kids were so happy as they got to feed them with fish food.
Plus the overall view was great too. Look at that!
The floating cottage
And then another less than 30 minutes from port to the floating cottage by boat. Unfortunately, I only video the whole thing for just 5 seconds.
Here's a photo of when we arrived at the cottage.
I don't know how big the cottage is, but it was said that it can accommodate up to 30 people. But due to the current regulation, they only accept 25 persons per cottage for now.
It was their first time to open their floating cottage to the public, which means we were their first customers. And for me, it's a 10/10 rating. Highly recommended, and here's why:
Very spacious
With enough bench to sit in while you're enjoying the sun
Big umbrellas to give you shade
The table is big enough for all your food too
Extra chairs for your comfort
With pools included: 1 for toddlers and kids: the other one is for adults who can't swim
The area where you can cook or do barbecue
The toilet is very clean (I am so impressed)
3 huge trash cans for your garbage
And they even have a first aid kit ready in case of emergency
The weather
As you can see, the weather was so perfect. Blue sky, cool breeze, and the water were so crystal clear that you could see the fish swimming. Sadly, I tried to take photos of them as we fed them with puto cheese, but it's not clear on my phone.
The sun was so bright and sunny but because of the wind, it doesn't feel like it was so hot at all.
The food
Oh, the food was great too! We had plenty enough for everybody. We had a lot that some of the food we brought was left uncooked, such as the shrimps, lumpia or spring rolls, and banana.
I could barely finish my plate coz my sister put a lot. But I managed to finish it after so many hours of waiting for my food to digest. Lol.
The company
It was fun and we did enjoy our Friday madness. Our birthday celebrant was so happy too. She's the one in the front photo.
Next plan
They are planning to go back on my birthday in September, which I think is a good idea to unwind again.
Closing thoughts
We really enjoyed our Friday and can't wait to visit it again in September. I hope my other nephew can finally join us, along with my brother and sister-in-law.
Its a nice place, MJ. I'm glad that you were able to go out and enjoy.. Thanks for sharing po.
